I wish I could add more than five stars for Amber House. I don't feel like five does it justice. The hospitality and kindness we receive when we stay is above and beyond. I'm the one who doesn't want to sit around in a room but it's so cozy and relaxing here that I don't ever want to leave. My husband and I have traveled to Europe, been on cruises, and been all around the US. The food we receive at Amber House is better than anything we have had anywhere else in our travels. We brag to everyone and tell people they have to stay here! We enjoy speaking with the owners and hearing all their stories. The highlight of this trip (314/3-15, 2021) was the farewell committee headed by their youngest son who is just as friendly and caring as his parents. We can't wait to go back to Amber House. We have stayed here twice now, both times our expectations were exceeded. The accommodations are amazing of course, but the food (locally sourced ingredients) and the massages were unbelievable. We have had multi course meals here on each visit and wish we could just move in permanently. Both times we have met other interesting couples, and we always enjoy chatting with the super interesting hosts who have traveled the world and settled in Rocheport. They have bicycles for you to borrow and ride the trail before returning for an amazing breakfast. Thank you Dawson and Sherri!! Can't wait to come back. read more

My husband, my friend and I went to dinner and had a FABULOUS four course meal. We were lucky to have front row seats in the kitchen to watch Dawson and Sherri seamlessly work together in their beautiful kitchen. *Starter was Pinot Grigio. Smooth and elegant.* Course 1: Mushroom vegetable soup. It was light and delicious! Course 2: Caprese Salad. Very refreshing with a substantial amount of mozzarella nestled between flavorful organic tomato slices topped with basil. *Poured red wine paired with the next course.* Course 3: Boneless pork chops on a bed of gnocchi topped with slices of peaches with an amazing sauce that I had never tasted before. Enough said. *Baileys Amaretto cocktail* Course 4: Homemade puff pastry topped with cherry compote and homemade vanilla ice cream. Coffee if desired. Perfect ending to a perfect meal. The home is meticulous with beautiful furniture and decor. I could go on and on about the home. Dawson and Sherri are relaxed and really know how to accommodate guests. I highly recommend spending an evening or stay here. You will not regret it and will want to visit again and again! read more

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Amber House for our anniversary and one word to describe that stay would be amazing. The house and grounds were beautiful, our bedroom and bathroom were luxurious, the four course meal prepared for us for dinner was outstanding, and to top it off Sherri gave me the best massage I've ever had! TWO THUMBS UP! My wife and I recently stayed with Dawson and Sherri over at the Amber House B&B for our 2 year anniversary and I must say, it was an absolute pleasure! We frequent B&B's often and this hands down is one of the nicest ones we've ever stayed in. The Amber House was clean, the food was top-notch, the beds were comfy, and best of all, Dawson and Sherri were incredible hosts. At other B&B's we've stayed at, sometimes the inn keepers like to hover and can sometimes get a little chatty and don't allow you room to breath and enjoy the B&B. Dawson and Sherri balanced this perfectly! Never at any moment did we feel smothered or bothered. Whenever we needed something or wanted to chat, they were always available to us, however whenever we simply wanted to enjoy a book in the parlor, or have coffee on the porch, they left us to ourselves. We also HIGHLY recommend the dinner...I'm still thinking about the chicken Dawson prepared for us....SO good... We can't wait to come back! read more

The accommodations were excellent and the meals at both breakfast and our additional dinner were incredible! Our dinner was as good or better as a 5 star restaurant at far less the price. The beef, salad tomatoes & cheese, vegetables, and gnocchi were locally sourced or made. The wine pairings for my wife were perfect and my beer came from his brother's local brewery. Breakfast especially the omelette one morning and homemade yogurt were delicious too. We really appreciate Dawson & Sherry's hospitality and hope to be back soon! read more

It was a magical weekend! My fiancée and I eloped to the Amber House and it was exactly how we expected it to be! Starting our lives together as husband and wife, in a relaxing, stress free escape, leaving the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. Amber House provided more than we expected. Dawson and Sherri referred me to Tim Carson, who officiated, and to Rebecca Allen for photography. The local farm, Redbuds, created a perfectly fresh, seasonal bouquet for me as well. We chose the Romance Package upon arrival in the beautifully appointed Onyx room. We indulged two evenings in the Four Course Meals with Wine Pairing. Dawson prepared wonderful meals, both breakfasts and dinners were exquisitely executed, and delicious. We appreciated the quiet, relaxing atmosphere that Amber House offers and we look forward to returning for years to come! Impressed! The Victorian style home was perfect inside and out. Service was above board, Dawson our host /chef served a four course dinner that rivaled many fine dining experiences I've had...(specifically reminiscent of FRUITION in Denver Co). I loved the vibes and the food was perfect. I would definitely recommend to friends looking for a different experience similar to a boutique hotel in NY. Awesome read more

Unbelievable. The food is as good as any 5 star restaurant that I've ever been to. Hospitality is second to none and the decor is comfortable and inviting. The room was beautiful and cozy, with high ceilings and well crafted furniture. The bottom line is that if you haven't stayed here, you must not have known any better. read more

After hearing from our friends about their awesome weekend at the Amber House I decided to book a weekend stay for my wife's b-day. The Amber House exceeded my expectations for a 5 star B&B experience. Dawson and Sherri were very hospitable and cooked a delicious breakfast in the morning. Loved it! The room was comfortable and the food was excellent! We borrowed bikes to ride to a winery to have lunch, which was really nice. Everything was so perfect. I enjoyed the wind chimes outside of our window and relaxing with coffee in the morning. What nice accommodations. We will be returning for another pleasant stay. This is THE nicest Bed and Breakfast that we have ever stayed in--and we have visited many B&Bs across the country! We booked the Jade Room, which had a very comfortable bed, a huge shower with double heads and body jets, and a fireplace. Sherri and Dawson were terrific hosts, and we booked just a day in advance, so we didn't experience their dinner cuisine (which we plan on doing next time). The breakfast was DELICIOUS, and it was the perfect amount of food. Thanks for a wonderful time! read more

My husband and I stayed here for our 10-year Anniversary. We had a wonderful weekend filled with relaxing conversation, great food and a wonderful small-town atmosphere. Dawson and Sherri were both wonderful and accommodating. We had to make some travel changes due to severe weather and they worked everything out with us. The room was well decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Dawson is an amazing cook. He made breakfast for all the guests both mornings. We also had a 3-course dinner and wine pairing on Saturday evening. The food was outstanding and the service was 5-star. We hope to go back to the Amber House in the future and would highly recommend it! read more
