I needed a dentist near me, downtown, and so Dr. Bruso was the closest on the Cigna provider website. I took a shot, as I needed a quick appointment, and darned if he didn't get me in ONE HOUR later (granted, they had a cancellation, so it was helping them out, too, but still). How did I crack my tooth, you ask? Well, while traveling on business, I was walking out of a Kroger, when I heard "someone call 9-1-1! A man is beating up an old man!" Being the Good Samaritan that I am, I rushed to help. This young, 20-something was high on something (PCP or meth), and waving his fists in the air. I helped, and got punched in the jaw before the police arrived. Enter cracked molar. Seriously, my travel life is an adventure! ;) Back to Dr. Bruso, which is why you are reading this review, if you haven't already stopped reading..... The office is in a GREAT location, between 11th/12th and Main/Walnut. The front desk staff, office manager, assistants - all top notch and professional. Dr. Bruso was very professional, thorough, and took excellent care of me. I had the option of watching a movie or using their Bose noise-cancelling headphones, so I chose the latter and caught up on podcasts. No! Do NOT go to him. I went to an appointment with my 14-year-old daughter to see about having dome marks on her teeth corrected after she got her braces off. It is in the middle of COV-19... he is NOT wearing mask, he is bending over examining my daughter mouth and talking. I asked him nicely to pull up his mask and he snapped back, "What do you think she will get it?, she won't! And if she does she won't really get sick anyway". I pointed out that she could give it to a family member... like my 90-year-old mother and he replied that it wouldn't happen. Really? I was disgusted and told the dental assistants that he would NOT being doing any dental work on my daughter with this attitude and lack of mask wearing. A few weeks later I get an estimate from him for her dental work in the mail. By then we had been to two more dentists to evaluate what needed to be done. His quote was over double both of theirs and included putting veneers on my daughter's teeth that both the other (highly recommended) dentists said were not necessary especially for a child. Amazing doctor, and a great staff! They were all very flexible and extremely helpful in my time of dire need. I walked in to their office with the mother of all toothaches due to a bad infection. If there is a worse place than hell, I was in it. After a thorough exam and subsequent root canal, I walked out of there a new man! I am very glad to have found Dr. Bruso. I was sent there by a friend in my office who has been going there for years, and it's been good. I'm qualified to say, as I had a lot of dental work done there that I'd been deferring, and have had a lot of dental work in the past by people I will no longer patronize. I first went to Dr. Bruso because I had a popped-off veneer. They worked hard to get me right in. I also had four cracked molars from being a lawyer, I mean from grinding my teeth at night, and it was getting critical, so I asked him to fix my mouth. It's been as good as the dentist can be. The office is extremely well-organized and well-run. The staff are pleasant and professional, the assistants and hygenists clearly know what they are doing. Dr. Bruso himself is straightforward and I feel that he has been very honest with me. They gave me very close estimates of cost, they quoted me high, in fact, worst case scenario which in my extensive exp with dentists is rare. The bills are clear and delineate each procedure or service. I have no dental insurance, and it wasn't cheap, but on the other hand it was less than I have been charged by much worse dentists, so I'd say that's a bargain. And when I showed up for appointments the waits were almost unbelievably minimal, in most cases no waiting at all. They are extremely concerned for my comfort. They validate parking. The parking garage is easy and there is a walkway so not much fighting the weather. I'm Dr. Bruso's patient until he hangs it up. Edit: still a huge fan. Four crowns later, two semicrown/filling things, all installed, I can chew again. I will blame Dr. Bruso if I start to gain weight ;) No pain, and very minimal discomfort during the whole ordeal. i like these people. you'll notice this review is short and sweet - honestly, i only spend about two hours a year here! knock on enamel, i have very few tooth-issues - no cavities, no work done. these pearlies are au natural, baby! but when i DO go to the dentist for a cleaning and semi-annual check-up, this is the place to be. dr. bruso himself is super nice - and he's got a nice smile. (hint: that's always a good sign at a dental office.) the hygienists i've seen are also quality. they take many different insurance plans, and even out-of-pocket costs are fairly competitive. got a toothache? take your tooth here. you'll be glad you did! read more

My visit with Dr. Bruso was great, the staff was fantastic and they did a thorough job. I took stars off because I had my visit and a week later got a letter that they dropped my health insurance-- and I needed to get fillings and had an appointment on the books with them. I understand these things are complicated; however, I really wish they had not taken me on as a new patient. Maybe they did not know for sure they were dropping it when they scheduled but the it seems like they would have had some idea as again it was a short time between my appointment and getting the letter. read more

The time and care that went into each detail of my initial visit was world-class by any measure. As someone who values a keen attention to detail, and knowing how difficult it is to find an exceptional dentist, I wouldn't hesitate to fly from where ever I was living to keep Dr.Bruso as my dental provider. Awesome dentist. I was in towm for business and pulled a filling while eating at night. I walked in the next morning with no appointment and explained my issue. They took care of me right away. I was blown away with the service and the profesional work they did in such short time. If I lived in the KC area I would have them as my dentist for life. I would rate them with 6 stars if that optin was avaliable. I cant thank them enough for the experince and care that they gave me. Dr. Brusso is not only the best dentist I have found in the KC Metro in the past 22-years,, he has the most high tech office and working methods I have ever seen. You don't feel like you are walking into a dental office or room!. My introduction to him was by an employee of Missouri Bank right across the street. They couldn't say enough about him & his staff! Stacy his office manager will & has gone out of her way to accommodate me & any need I have had to date.. Betsy, does the schedule & also answers the phone too and is a doll. The staff as a whole you can tell were carefully hand picked! They are each very specialized in what the do from side chair to hygienist! Dr. Brusso's practice displays local artist work which I love and the art was also a selling point. We are advocates of the arts in KC. My dentist retired & unfortunately the new dentist and & I just didn't click. I come from a family of dentistry & what should have been an easy procedure turned into an infection, a root canal & then a crown. I was befuddled & didn't know what to do except ask people I do business with. All I knew was this doctor was thrust into my life with no notice from my dentist of 17 years and I was done with this young buck who cared more for his staff then his patients. THEN my guardian angel, Dr. Brusso came into my life! He not only took me in as an emergency patient & completed all the above mentioned tasks while I watched TV in a wide screen TV and did a magnificent job I knew I had found my new dentist! There is no visible medical equipment in the rooms. No more lead vest for getting an X-ray.. They even stay in the room with you holding the film in place & for me that makes it less painful... while x-rays are being done! That's the 1st time I've ever had that experience no matter the type of X-ray! Again, I was sold. . His numbing substance is so advanced you do fill the injections. So if you have a fear of shots put your fear aside because it's over before you even know he gave you the injections. It is by far the most highly technologically built practice from the ground up! Dr. Brusso is located at The Pavilion at 1111 Main Street. They have easy drop off access or a high rise parking garage that takes you straight to the Pavilion entrance. They will stamp you ticket so parking is free. It is safe if you are going alone. The pricing is very reasonable considering the care and follow up you receive. They were able to help me make payment arrangements 0% interest for one year I might add. When you go to Dr. Brusso & staff for your dental needs once he works his magic you don't have to worry about it again. I am about to start Phase One of Four on having new crown, bridges & single teeth that at 57 need some love. He was able to do the phases I could afford & we made it a 4-year plan....affordable for me & something he felt would work. If I can do it quicker I will but he took the worry out if the financing in 5 minutes literally. So 5 out of 5 stars for you Dr. Brusso! Highly recommend! I was new to Kansas City, and I am so glad I found Dr. Bruso. All of the staff, the secretary, and the hygienists are beyond friendly and helpful. It is the most clean and modern dentist's office I have ever been to. Plus, watching whichever channel you want on a big TV during your cleaning is an added bonus that makes the appointment fly by.
