I don't generally write reviews but feel compelled to for Meiners Dentistry. I have been seeing Dr. Zack and his staff for about six years now, before then I hadn't been seen by a dentist for about 10 years due to anxiety and a fear of the dentist, as expected over that time I had developed more than a few issues that needed immediate attention. I forced myself to find a dentist that had experience with high anxiety patients, I found Meiners. The experience I've had with them is amazing, from the second you walk through the door you are greeted by name and with a smile. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes before being seen. Everyone alway seems genuinely happy to see you as well. The work that this group does is top notch, I've never had an issue with any of the work I've had done and the recovery time was always minimal. Dr. Zack and his team have helped me to overcome my fears of the dentist to the point that I no longer require nitrous to help calm me down, The level of trust that I have developed with them over the years is amazing. I cannot recommend them enough, especially if you suffer from anxiety or have a fear of the Dentist. Wonderful and caring staff. Had not seen a dentist in years and came in for a consult about an impacted wisdom tooth. After an x-ray, they saw that I had 3 wisdom tooth that needed to be removed. They offered same day surgery and I took it. I got 2 of the 3 removed. They do not put you under, they do local anesthetics, which terrified me as years ago I had a molar tooth removed elsewhere and during that event I had to be shit up 6 times which made me extremely terrified of dental needles. So I had a small anxiety attack because of that. They were patient with me and let me calm down and I agreed to do the procedure and I can just say that it was nearly painless other than the pressure needed to pull the teeth out I didn't feel a thing. From start to finish the procedure took maybe 20 minutes and I was out the door. I will definitely come back for the last wisdom tooth and regular check ups. They are just amazing and I definitely recommend people to come here. read more

When I clicked on Meiners Dentistry on Yelp, it said they were closed! I became a patient here in June, 2010, and they were very much in business! Call to check to see if they are taking new patients. The waiting room is quiet and pleasant. Their work rooms are bright, clean and comfortable. The ceilings are plastered with interesting things to help keep you entertained. There is a charming little restroom for those of us with nervous bladders. On one visit, when I was feeling hot, the hygienist brought in a small fan to cool me down. When I asked where I could find a drinking fountain, she brought me some bottled ice water. And, when they turn on the bright lights to get down to work, they give you wrap-around dark glasses to wear. I only went to them because I broke a tooth and needed a crown. I hate going to the dentist, and hadn't been to one in at least five to six years (my hubby says it was more like 10-12 years)! After having my teeth worked on by Dr. Zachary Meiners (son), and Dr. Donald Meiners (father), I still don't want to have to go to a dentist, but I no longer dread it, and would want to be under their care. They are both kind, compassionate, highly skilled, gentle, accommodating, and understanding. Dr. Zach offered gas on my first visit, if I thought I needed it. I didn't take gas, but did take him up on the offer of headphones and music. No lectures about needing regular checkups, or the necessity of flossing. Gums were well deadened before the dreaded needles came out. He asked frequently if I were doing OK, and he'd pause if I needed a break to swallow or to ease my jaws. He worked on the temporary crown until I was totally comfortable with it. When I went in again to have the permanent crown installed, it went quickly and smoothly, and the crown feels totally natural in my mouth. He made sure my bite was perfect. A couple weeks after my first visit, I had to have a wisdom tooth pulled. Dr. Don did this one. It took longer to numb my gums for the deadening shot than it did for my tooth to be extracted! Never felt a thing, and only a slight ache in the couple of days that followed. No pain, ever! (And I am a major-league sissy!) Later, I went in to have my teeth cleaned professionally for the first time in however many years. Kim cleaned my teeth, thoroughly, but gently, giving me a break whenever I needed. All the dental hygienists and assistants here (Kim, Donna, Dana and Lori) are friendly, compassionate, and highly skilled at their jobs. Before I went to Meiners Dentistry, I read every online review I could find about them on Yahoo.com and InsiderPages.com (I didn't know about Yelp at that time) ... and never found one with less than five stars! Some reviewers have been going to Meiners since they were children, others were currently bringing their children to Meiners. Raves all. And now, I've added my own rave ... and they deserve it! Upon moving here I had a dental emergency. I called several dentists looking for help and a quick appointment. I finally found this one. I spoke with Dana who was incredibly helpful and comforting. She got me right in and handled all my insurance information over the phone. This office is a father/son practice with one other dentist I believe. I myself seen the father and am very pleased. In fact I will never switch to any other dentist and plan on transferring my kids files. read more

Moved back to KC after being gone 20 years, my old dentist retired, hadn't gotten a new one, developed a toothache, daughter referred me to Meiners Dentistry, called at 9 this morning, they got me in at 2, diagnosed the problem and had the solution in 20 minutes. Buyer Beware! I went in for a cleaning and they did x-rays, and took measurements, etc. I was then told teeth looked great and I would have to set up another appointment for the cleaning and charged over twice the amount quoted! Odd bait and switch, but same result. I will never go back and caution you as well. read more
