Walked in since I desperately needed my eyebrows done after shopping nearby. Small shop that has their manicures in the back and pedicure stations in the front. Small room in the back for waxing. First time I've seen one of those magnifying lights in a salon! Such a friendly and personal experience. As soon as she saw my eyebrows her eyes got wide and I started joking around. She was laughing and going along with it. She said I have to shape your eyebrows and I said yeah because there is no shape and she laughed and said I'll put an arch, make it sexy. She also told me not to have my eyebrows trimmed because it makes it grow straight upwards and it looks better when it's long since it'll bend/blend into the shape better. She's very thorough and used the magnifying light to get the small hairs. She even gave me a little massage afterwards on my forehead. It was so nice. It felt like I was talking to an auntie or a mom. Eyebrows were $10 and card minimum is $15 so I just added $5 as tip. I live in Sonoma County but will absolutely be coming back to get my nails done next time I stop by. Would definitely suggest stopping by if you're in the area! read more

Dan kept me until 7:15 and was told I wanted dip when no I just wanted baby blue gel manicure. I wish they would have just said we can't clean your nails. Wonderful experience. Kelly did my pedicure, she spent over 1.5 hours meticulously working on my toes. Wonderful quality massage, work on cuticles and the whole feet. I showed her the design I wanted, I thought it was pretty complicated, and she worked really hard to make it just like that, and it turned out even better. She's also very friendly and pleasant. Favorite pedicurist by far! My daughters got kids' pedi/mani, had 2 stylists working on them same time. The nails last very well for non-gel colors! The stylists were so sweet, even threw in a little design for each of them which pleased my little girls greatly. The salon owners also invested in kids' pedicure chairs which are so fun and adorable! Overall the salon has a really clean, inviting, comfortable, stylish layout. My friend recommended this place when I was looking for someplace to get a mani-pedi for my birthday. Three of is went on a Saturday, it wasnt crowded, but we had made reservations just in case. The pedicure was amazing! Got the spa special pedi with the paraffin wax dip. They did a great job on my toes, and it was super relaxing. Plus their massage chairs are great. I got a gel french manicure, it looks good, but there are a couple bubbles. It chipped after only a few days. The staff were all really friendly and sweet. Update - 4/25/14 I wanted to include an update to be totally fair. I haven't gotten around to removing the polish I complained about yet. I am still unhappy with the white color that I have most of the time and with the overall quality of the paint job. But, to be fair, when I'm cold, it is basically exactly the color that it was on the sample. And, occasionally, it's kind of a cool hombre effect when I've put them under cool water or hold something cold. If it were like this more of the time I would be happy with it. Unfortunately, it is still completely white the majority of the time and I still would not have chosen it had I know that in advance. That's it. Original post below: I've been going to Kristy Nails for several years and have always had a good experience. Today was the exception and I left brutally disappointed in both the product and the customer service. I have generally only gone for pedicures; I rarely get manicures. A little over 2 weeks ago I went for my birthday and got a fantastic pedicure and my first gel manicure. I could not have been happier and was sold on the gel manicure instantly. It lasted well and never chipped - I went back only because my nails had grown out and I was ready for a change. The polish looked great. At that time I chose a purple gel polish that was advertised as "mood" polish. It rarely changed color and was a sparkly purple all the time, lightening a little when I grabbed something out of an icy cooler. Today, I chose another "mood" gel polish, assuming it would function similarly. It was a light aqua color on the sample and I assumed that would be the regular color. Kristy made sure to tell me it was "mood" and would change color - which I thought I understood based on my prior experience. I was wrong. The polish went on completely white. It looks like I painted with white-out. After the first coat, I asked if that was the color it would ultimately be. The manicurist working with me was new and said she didn't have experience with that color. She spoke with Kristy, whose response was that I was told it was a "mood" polish and that's what color it is. I explained what I had expected based on my prior experience but was given no offer or option to remedy the situation. Part of the problem is that the gel can't simply be removed like standard polish and we basically would've had to start over with the stripping and prepping stages. I had already been there 45 minutes. Despite my obvious disappointment and repeated requests for advice on how I might be able to make it something other than white that were entirely ignored, I opted to complete the process with what I had started so I could leave. So, now I have white nails, not aqua (unless I'm washing my hands, at which point they flash aqua, then back to white). I have researched how to remove it at home which appears to be do-able. Or, I'll see if I can get it re-painted elsewhere. The good news is the cut, shaping, and cuticle work was what I wanted and my manicurist was very nice and apologetic that I was so unhappy. I believe she wanted to offer me some kind of fix for the problem but Kristy appeared to instruct her otherwise (they spoke to one another in Vietnamese so this is only speculation). Also, the paint job is not very good and there are a couple of threads or stray paint brush hairs stuck in a couple of the nails. I pointed out one of the threads but could not get it removed. I'm primarily disappointed that after so many years of patronage at Kristy's, having never complained a single time, that I was so summarily dismissed today and blamed for the misinformation about the nail color. She had always been so nice and I thought very accommodating. Today she just kept blaming me. Telling someone it changes color is not the same as saying "it's white all the time unless you run your hand under cold water." For that reason, I won't return. It's unfortunate because it's only around the corner and they have great massage chairs. But I'm out. I left miserable and Kristy clearly didn't care in the least. read more

Came in for a full set and pedicure. The place was empty so I was in and out. The pedicure felt great but has its flaws. Tiffany did my full set and while she is super nice and actually had a conversation with me, the nail job did not meet my expectations. I am very picky when it comes to them so I might be too hard on the quality but the next day they started to show signs of coming off already. This place is small but feels warm and welcoming. There are signs that they were voted best mani pedi on KCRA's A-list. The staff is very friendly, Dao did my pedi and Tiffany my nails. We talked about my daughter and she told me to bring her in so she could meet her, I came back the next day with her but Tiffany was not working. Total for me was $67 with tip included. I am skeptical on the nails but I will come back when it's time to get a fill. Maybe we just had an off day and next time will be smoother.
