We came to Bliss for a 5th birthday party with a party of 7 yesterday. The appointment was booked over 3 weeks prior, but when we arrived, there were only 3 employees working. Per other photos on their Yelp page, we assumed that there would be enough employees for all of us. Since there were only 3 employees, they did the adults first while the kids sat and waited as patiently as they could until we were done. They didn't even have them soaking their feet or anything while they waited. The appointment took 2 hours for something that should have only last an hour or so. The lady who did my pedicure nicked my toes at least 3 times, she even buffed the tops of my toes with the heel scrubber which I found very odd considering how sensitive that part is. Needless to say, my toes were very sore afterwards. I also thought she did a terrible paint job, the polish on my right foot was darker than my left - which I know she could clearly see. I'm not one to complain about nail salons because I generally enjoy it, but we paid a lot of money for one of the worst experiences. It just felt off. With all of that being said, the staff was very friendly, but the inside is very small. There is only 1 manicure station, but I think I counted 8 pedicure seats. The kids had a great time which in the end, is all that matters, but I don't think we'll be back unfortunately. read more

I can not say enough good things about this nail salon! I stumbled upon it by chance a couple months ago and will never look back. I am a regular dip and gel pedicure gal. They have a great selection of dip color options paired up with the closest color match to both gel and regular polish. It is always clean and peaceful but the real seller is the spa pedicure. WHY I WENT HERE: - on the search to be a regular at or at least have a go-to nail salon for shellac pedicures, but most importantly for a dip powder manicure - location is reasonable to where I live and that stated they offer dip powder manicures and shellac pedicures for a reasonable price THE DIP POWDER MANICURE PROCESS: - like any other manicure: your nails will be filed, cuticle care, cut, etc. - unlike any other manicure: 1) each finger is dipped into clear, finely-milled powder; 2) excess powder is brushed off; 3) each layer is set with a protective clear polish; 4) steps are repeated until the nail is fully coated and hardened; 5) each nail is sealed with a gel top coat COMPARISON NOTES: - the first salon I tried dip powder manicure at applied 3 layers of dip powder before sealing it 2x with a gel top coat; each layer was dried/cured via fan - at the second salon I tried dip powder manicure at applied 2 layers of dip before sealing it 2x with a gel top coat; each layer was just timed via the owner's/nail tech's phone - at the third salon, 3 layers of dip powder were applied before sealing it 2x with a shellac gel top coat and cured via the UV light (only the shellac top coat layers were cured via the UV light) - at THIS salon, 4 layers of dip powder were applied before sealing it 2x with a gel top coat THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located in a small plaza that's shared with a smoke shop and an insurance company - the plaza the salon is located on Auburn Blvd in between Aldona Ln and Orange Grove Ave - the parking lot itself is pretty limited, but I came by here after work and easily got parking (last appointment of the day) THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - dated but clean CUSTOMER SERVICE: - called ahead to book a last minute appointment - owner (who ended up being my nail tech) was very warm and welcoming - LOTS of nail color choices; I was given maybe two dozen nail color ring swatches to sift through - I came in for a dip powder manicure as well as a shellac pedicure - pedicure package I chose included massaging for every step: scrub, clay mask, hot towel treatment, lotion, hot stones, and cuticle oil - able to pay for my services + tip with Venmo - the only downside was my massage chair was not working so it got a bit uncomfortable sitting in it for the duration of my appointment OVERALL: - it's been over 3+ weeks and still no signs of cracking/damage/deterioration, so the quality of everything is definitely top notch - I also really liked that the dip powder was applied as close to the cuticle area/end of the nail bed as possible vs leaving a gap, which I feel also helped with me getting away with the manicure lasting as long as it has; I might wait a 4th week before getting my nails done again before the nail growth becomes too obvious read more

So I was on the hunt for a new nail spot. The last spot I went to, Stone Nails, burned the sides of my nails with the dremel tool. Thankfully Bliss Nails is very close to my house! Much closer than the old spot and cheaper too. Located off Auburn Blvd in a two-story unassuming building, the downstairs area has spa pedicure chairs and one nail station. Have yet to see what's upstairs, but I think that is where they keep all the supplies? I opted for the acrylic dip powder manicure since gel manicures have wreaked havoc on my nails! I have been going here for about year and half and I've always requested dip with an almond shape nail. This salon is very clean and peaceful. The dip colors are top notch and they offer a HUGE variety of color options. I've always made an appointment to come in. They almost always have a spot for the time slots I need. All the staff is sweet and approachable. I've come in here for a chipped nail once (I have a crazy Shepard dog who snagged my nail on his leash) and they were quick to fix it at no charge. First time coming here and I literally had the best time. I received services from Tim (regular pedicure) and Lin (dip powder manicure). The dip powder procedure doesn't require any curing/UV light, which I like a lot. It also seems sturdier and less prone to chipping. My nails have honestly never felt stronger. Lin was really good about maintaining my length and getting my desired shape. They check in with you often about how you're doing during the appointment and are also super friendly. They strike up conversations with you often despite the occasional silences (which I can appreciate since getting my nails done is a form of relaxation for me). I should also mention, Tim was the one who introduced himself to me first and asked for my name -- like I said, really friendly and awesome people. I am incredibly happy! I moved to the area a few months ago from the Bay and my expectations have been met. I also messed up a couple of my toenails while getting in my car.
