I wouldn't recommend the bakery for decorating a cake. My picture on the cake is lifted & it's so uneven. So poorly made! Icing everywhere even on the outside of the cake box. I have icing all over my clothes. I would never order another cake from here. Glad I got the smallest one smh read more

@Kroger shoppers remember to always check your receipt before leaving the store, especially when an item you puchase is on sale. Once again, Kroger has not given the sale price on an item. Jimmy Dean Breakfast sandwiches. With the digital coupon they were priced at 5.49. I guess it's only 5.49 if you look at your receipt and then go to customer service to get the money refunded for the over charge. I get it, this can happen. However this is happening more frequently. How many shoppers miss looking at their receipt and do not notice the over charge. It has to make me wonder how much revenue is generated from errors in their pricing system. read more

I've been ordering curbside pickup from the West Rd Kroger since the pandemic and have been generally pleased. They seem to be better stocked than some and all the staff have been great. Once they forgot one item that I paid for, but they reimbursed that on the next trip with an extra $5 for the hassle. Tip for those that want curbside pickup, I had no wait on Thursday at 5:30 and received much more of my order than on a weekend. read more

This post is about Kroger boost. This service is fantastic! I have been grocery shopping for over 20 years and have always shopped at Meijer previously. I would use Instacart occasionally when I just didn't have time to make it to the store but needed groceries. (Probably 5-6 times a year). I had a horrific experience with Instacart and a friend told me about Kroger boost so I decided to try it. I have been using this service every week for several months and I have had a very positive experience. If you haven't looked into this-you absolutely should. You also gain fuel points and get money off at the pump-so you save on gas. read more

I've going to this location for over twenty years and I promise you that yesterda's trip will be my last. Zero vegetables on the shelf's, so dirty, the checkout person had no knowledge of any type of vegetabl, including what celery or cucumber was. The checkout conveyor was disgusting, I didn't even want to put food on it. Prices are through the roof. This location compared to the one on Fort St. is night and day. EITHER CLEAN IT UP or close it. Or remodel it and use the space that's us all closed down next to it and make it a place that people would want to work there. Kroger had their ribs on sale, buy one get one free. I found the four cheapest ones, continued shopping, and proceeded to the self checkout. When I rang up my order, the ribs didn't ring up with the buy one get one free sale, so I asked for help. The cashier came over and then went to get someone to help. An employee came up and said that the ribs were priced wrong and took my ribs. I have shopped at this Kroger for 20 years,spending 10"s of thousands of dollars, and I will not spend another dime there due to this employee and $20 to 30 dollars. read more

I love Kroger they rock, really they do. This particular location is near by, however don't love it. I wish I did darnit but I don't. However krogers downriver are far and few between..huh don't get it? This store has some rude employees on a serious tip! When I first moved went here and was just gonna grab a few items, well I got carried away due to some good sales. I didn't grab a cart so as I'm going through the frozen food section I see a empty cart...hey good deal until an employee whose head was stuck in the freezer makes a smart ass comment and says oh that's okay I don't need that princess! What what I'm like.. Really sweet pea uncool as hell! This place often is under stocked also went last week for miniature marshmellows..nonion really..wth nevermind.. however it is what it is. This store also needs a remodel it is not anywhere close to some of the stores I was accustomed to. The deli, produce and meat department seriously lacking no Starbucks either... Pretty lackluster. I used to love Kroger when I lived in Westland. Unfortunately this store seems to have issues with controlling food temperatures. Most times I've bought any pre packages fruit or veggies, they were spoiled. After food poisoning and many incidents of bad produce, I only go here as a last resort. I walk 2 miles to aldi instead of walking the half mile to Kroger. read more

Don't ever shop here! First of all it is old and dirty and very unorganized...It looks like it may be the original Kroger's in Michigan from 1972. The people working there are nice and I truly appreciate them working during the COVID-19 Pandemic and for putting their life on the line on a daily basis but their supervisors incompetency is reprehensible. They called us telling us our order would be delayed for 24 hours. Upon arrival we waited 2 hours and 20 minutes to pick up our click-it order. Despite waiting in line we furiously watched as other vehicles pulled into random parking spots, opened their trunks and get their orders while others waited hours.... I get it that there are a lot of people ordering through click-it but at this Kroger is was a free for all and it was allowed. This is unacceptable!! DON'T EVER SHOP AT KROGER IN BROWNSTOWN, MI, ON WEST ROAD IFYOU WANT TO BE TREATED FAIRLY!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

I only go to this Kroger because it is so close to the house. With the exception of two employees, the customer service is dreadful even for grocery stores. Employees do not look up from their tasks. Frowns on faces, and hurried attitudes for any question. One feels like an intrusion instead of a customer. The customer service desk is no different. One might expect a higher level from more "senior" employees at the customer service desk. Nope...same frowns..same feeling of intrusion in ones day. Modern chain grocery stores lack in customer service but this location in this chain is the bottom of the barrel. I would recommend Wal-Mart over this locale. read more

The guy that is always stocking produce never covers his mouth when he coughs. It drives me crazy. We've said something to him in the past. It's absolutely disgusting! The meat department people are nice. The whole place has a warehouse feel to it. Narrow aisles and packed caps make it so hard not to run into other shoppers. I can't wait till they open the new store. Hopefully that guy will cough his way out, gross. read more

This is one of the better stores in the area, and it's much more convenient to those in the area who don't want to go to Meijer or Walmart. All of their prices are comparable. The store is always clean, organized, and well stocked. Their meat selection is rather low, but the produce, frozen, and deli sections are pretty good. They have a ton of beer but no liquor. My only real complaint is that the baggers are terrible and slow. I worked that job too when I was younger, and we were trained on how to do the job well. Here, I don't know how many times I get home and have a million bags for a modest $100 shopping trip. I hate getting a bag for one can or double bagged for a 2 liter of pop... or getting toilet cleaner bagged with my frozen pizza. read more

I've written reviews before and never receive a response from Kroger. I've been shopping at this location for over 25 years. I do so because it's the closest store to me. But now, for the past several years and more so recently, I've decided to change. Disappointed every time, once it's no broccoli, now no cilantro. It doesn't matter what ingredient I go there specifically for, it's not there. I have them check the back and nope, nothing. The store is run down, dirty and never restocked. I waste my gas miles all the time. Yet the one in Southgate is beautiful, nice meat/deli counter, fish counter, endless reasons for me to drive an extra 5 miles to shop. The fruit and produce need to be fresh and not rotten. The old and rotting fruit and vegetable to need be thrown away. Expired items on shelves. Great Kroger store. Someone told me that they made fresh sushi here, so I dropped in to grocery shop one day. Great Kroger store. The bottle return was in the front of the store by the doors, so I imagine it would be really cold if I was returning bottles (which I was not). Great selection for a Kroger of organic food. Awesome selection of fresh fish as well, but I had to wait like 10 minutes before anyone offered help at that counter. Anyway, this store is better than most Kroger's I have been in. Terrible! 12 self check our lanes open and one actual lane with an employee yesterday. The woman working the register was filling in from produce. I called the store manager but there wasn't one in. I told the guy that answered the phone that there were 12 self check outs and one register open and he said yes that's what's scheduled. Start asking for an employee discount or even better find another store to shop at! The stores charge us top dollar to shop there and then we have to check ourselves out so they don't have to pay employees? Ridiculous! read more

This place is disgusting. The entire parking lot smells like cigarettes. This place attracts a lot of trashy people for some reason - maybe that's just downriver, but meijer isn't like that. The inside is just as gross. Even the employees are smoking near the entrance. Nasty! Employees are rude and the self checkout attendant stands over you like you're stealing a atm machine. The store itself is okay in a ho-hum way. It's nice that things are easy to find but half of the time, the item I'm looking for is out of stock.....especially during the holidays. The deli dept. gets way backed up. They are under-staffed and when they do have enough staff. People are standing around and not providing any service. The worst part of the store is the bottle room though. The machines (only 4 of them) are always broken down, the room is so filthy, it would make a vagrant ashamed and I've literally seen people backed up outside freezing their butts off during the winter waiting for someone to come clear an error or empty a machine. I shop here because it's the closest store but I'm seriously considering switching to the new Meijer in Flat Rock. read more

Tried to return two six pack bottles, the machine wouldn't take the other, and I suspect that's because this was the dirtiest, stickiest, most broken-down bottle return I've ever been in. Horrible store. Bought a bag of apples, my son bit into one, it was rotten. Bought steak and it literally smelled like dog crap. Store is always out of stock on items or when they do decide to stock it's on Sunday when the store is packed. I'll start going to Meijer from now on. read more
