But the environment is horrible, people begging for money in the parking lot approaching you when trying to get in your car, people lingering in the parking lot for long periods it feels unsafe. I live right across the street from Meijers so i frequent this place a lot and i've also lived here for 30 years so i've seen a lot here. I do shop here but only for certain things, I would never buy my meat from here. I've seen a steak laying in the cereal aisle before and i know they put that stuff back out for sale!!! U always look at the dates on items also and i often find a lot of expired foods still for sale so i stick to buying only certain things from here. This is my favorite Meijer to go to. It takes me 25 to 30 minutes to get there. There are two others closer to me but this is my preferred Meijer destination. That is because it is well-kept, clean and the people who work here are friendly and helpful. The aisles are kept free of obstructions and the shelves are arranged tastefully and efficiently. The prices here seem to be a little more in line with what I would expect to pay. The fluctuations are not as volatile. Their bottle return area is kept neat and clean. My bf and I went there today at 11 pm with my aunt and my cousin and two employees were following my bf and I! I am not sure why. They followed us all the way until we checked out! My bf and I were trolling them with autistic comedy because the short girl and the guy thought that they were soo slick. But they were very obvious. Go target someone thar actually needs to steal! I love shopping at Meijer because they have everything under one roof. That's why they call it Meijer's friendly Acres because these stores are huge. You can get your groceries then you can go over and get some towels you can buy your laundry detergent and maybe even buy a lawn mower if you needed that too. Meijers has everything. Sometimes the sales aren't the best but you can always look around on the clearance racks and find something of good quality. I like coming late at night while they are stocking up because it is the best time to get in and out in a hurry. Lots of parking and always lighted. I don't worry when I shop at 2 a.m. that I'm going to get attacked because the parking lots are monitored by security. I just wish that they would keep Subway open till midnight at this store so that I could get something to eat on the way out of the store and then take it home for lunch the next day. The bakery here is one of the best in the chain because they have everything everyday. Went into Meijer on 4/28/2022 to buy bikes for my kids. We were able to pick out the bikes they wanted after looking through their selection. We went to the self check-out line to buy the bikes, but noticed there were no scanners to scan the tags on the bikes. Waited for help, but she was busy, so we waited. I've bought a bike from here before and it was a simple process where they just scanned it for us and we paid and went on our way. I assumed the same thing was suppose to be done, but it did not work out that way. She looked over at me a couple of times as I waited near her normal station as I didn't want the line behind me to wait on me as I wouldn't even be able to use that register anyways. My wife told me to go to the other side as she thought they had scanners there. We left to go to the other side of the store. We saw no scanners and so we went back. I walked up to the lady as she was finally not busy and I wanted to ask her a question about how to get these bikes scanned, but instead of just listening to me she just told me in a loud voice(but not yelling) "YOU NEED TO WAIT BEHIND EVERYONE ELSE. YOU CAN'T JUST SKIP TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE. THERE IS A LINE FOR A REASON!" I just left that line as she was just being rude for no reason. I went back to the other side and waited in a much longer line. I was fine with this as I just didn't want to deal with rude people. However, when I finally got to get to the front, the guy working there did the same thing and said I had to wait in line. I told him I already did wait and I just wanted to know how to scan to buy these bikes. He just gave me attitude and said "I didn't see you". Luckily there was one nice girl and she scanned them for us. This all happened around 7:45PM. Meijer... Check your cameras to prove me wrong. Did I wait in line? YES. I waited TWICE and TWICE got attitude for wanting to buy something. I didn't go up to them with an attitude, but what do I get? Attitude... I've been buying groceries from Meijer's for over 15 years... My wife's family have been buying from you for much longer than me... NEVER AGAIN. You just lost my entire family's support... Get better workers or you'll just lose more customers. Actually my wife was so frustrated that she actually found out their names. The lady was Angelina and the guy was named Terry. I'm really irritated. I usually go to 2 other Meijer stores in the area but today I was in this neighborhood. I pulled up with my one year old son and a full bladder. THANK GOD, this is a Meijer with the bathroom in the entrance. Well, with a one year old, I have two options. Set him on the disgusting floor so he can get all filthed up, or use the handicap stall that has the changing station in it where I can strap him down. Well, unfortunately the stall was occupied. I decided to wait. After a few moments, I thought somebody must be in there holding shut Pandora's Box or something because there were feet there but no noise... tell-tale signs that somebody is waiting for you to leave so that they can finally shit their brains out. I don't have time for that. I'm thinking, god, please just let it out before I pee myself! Then some other woman comes in with her child. She, too, wants the handicap stall because then she can go in and help her kid. I calmly, with my legs crossed to hold back the waterfall, tell her that I'm in line for the big stall. "I need to use that one because I have my son with me," I said... loudly enough for the woman camping out in the stall to hear. After the lady's kid went and finished what she needed to do in a smaller stall, the lady is making eyes at me. What is Handicap Stall Lady doing in there? Like I did, she peeked under and saw feet. She gave me a look... I mouthed "I'm going to wet myself." So, being a perfectly reasonable human, she offered to hold my son and stand near the door so I could see. She explained to her daughter that it's never a good idea to let a stranger take your baby but that this was an exception because I could see her through the crack in the door. I was desperate, and I did what I had to do. I pictured myself running out of the stall to catch her if she ran with him with my pants shackling my ankles... Thankfully she didn't kidnap my child, and I peed even though I noticed there was no toilet paper in the small stall I had to resort to using. Ugh. Then, I was washing my hands and Handicap Stall Lady comes out without flushing (which can only mean she was sitting on the can texting and didn't even need to use it) AND IT'S A FRIGGING MEIJER EMPLOYEE!!!!!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I even made it a point to make multiple comments that I wanted to use that stall and she sat in there doing GOD KNOWS WHAT for lie TEN MINUTES knowing somebody was waiting to use that stall!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH I was so irritated! The only reason they get two stars is because I complained about this employee to another employee who handled it very gracefully and spoke to a manager for me. They were sweet in response though there was very little they could do about it after the fact. There is also an older male employee that works there that I would hire if I ran any business because he was so wonderful. So, two stars. It sucks they have this hood rat working there who spends her work day hiding out in the bathroom so she can text her friends and inconvenience customers because I would have thought more highly of this location based on my other encounters with other employees. read more

Deli department is a big joke. Plan on waiting about 20 minutes to get your cold cuts. I usually don't get my full order because I am so irritated. Complained to the manager and he said they can't keep help in that department. Be careful and watch your expiration dates, this Meijer is famous for this. I think the store opened the year I was born. I'm not going to discose anymore personal info that being said I'm no spring chicken. Meijer was lightyears ahead as far as Mega stores go particularly referring to one that starts with a W and ends in mart. This place has it all and in my mind the mega store inventer. You average Meijer store. A little messy, not more than expected in this end of town. Produce and fresh meat section is decent. It gets very crowed on weekends, I always shop in the middle of the night since its 24hr. The worst Meijer in the area by far. I unfortunately had a not soo customer friendly experience today(12/3/17). The cashier acted as if someone from Meijer corporate office had came to her home, gave a uniform and badge; and forced her to work for Meijer. Every customer that approached her are was greeted with ," du ya hav any copon or Meijer perk". Customer were like," I'm sorry what did you say". She repeated the questions even less audible than the previous time; almost as if she was deliberately attempting to not be heard. Store is a great store... However, when you advertise that you offer curb side pick up and you actually don't offer the service in full there is a problem. I waited until today to order since chicken was on sale today. Come to find out I cannot order any of my produce, so I still have to go into the store. I do not feel it is appropriate for you to advertise Curb Side pick up if we cannot pick up all the groceries we would like to purchase from the store. Very disappointed! read more

Meijer is the BEST place to shop for groceries in Taylor. Reasonable prices and a fantastic selection. Full service butcher counter, well stocked produce department, and a wide variety of meats and cheeses in the deli. I went there and did my normal shopping yesterday and found a very good amount of things that would keep me from ever coming back here. 1) I am new to WIC and I hate that they don't have anything marked like Kroger does on their tags that is WIC items. I ended up grabbing the items and buying them anyways because the babyfood is only .88. 2) The staff was very friendly and helpful especially Jennifer from deli who was super patient and very nice as i grabbed all my deli meats. However, the cashier "Mateo" or however you spell it had a customer and he was hitting on her but what is worse is that when she left he stared at her from behind WHILE THERE WAS A CUSTOMER right in front of him when he should have been scanning her items. He thought it was a joke as he starred at her for backside for (not exaggerating) over 10 seconds. Then the white shirt greeter or security was passing by and staring as well as the young kid and mateo locking eyes in approval like it was ok. 3 to 4 seconds later another employee must have called the cashier phone because he told whoever was on the phone to mind their business laughing. Wednesday 630pm: place order for 100 pieces of fried chicken with the deli. ($64.99 - for my Moms 40th surprise birthday) woman takes my name, number, date and pick up time. (Sunday between 230 &3) Sunday 245pm: my fiancée arrives to pick up 100 pieces of chicken, only for the workers to be shuffling around "looking for" my order. turns out they never made it. They say they can drop it in they fryer now but it won't be done for 45 minutes. so we got our chicken an hour late- but because they weren't prepared, there were no breasts. did get half off the price when I picked it up- but one of the women I spoke to kept telling me I had to wait. I was trying to tell her I was already an hour late for the surprise birthday party I was helping throw and 60 people were waiting for this chicken. every time I tried explaining it to her she kept saying "you're talking too fast, I can't understand you, you're going to have to wait. I don't know what order you're talking about and I don't know if we have it." she was downright rude, outright disrespectful and completely unhelpful. not only unhelpful, but she was deliberately trying to antagonize me further than how upset I already was that they had messed up the party we had been planning for a month. so I had to wait another fifteen minutes while they helped customers in line for deli meats, despite having placed my order 5 days previously. finally a very kind woman came to help and got my order all taken care of. overall though, I would never order or shop at this meijer again because of this terrible experience. Management here: train your employees that when they have ALREADY screwed up an order (especially 100pcs), they should do everything they can to make it right, STARTING with being sincere, apologetic, and kind- rather than rude, disrespectful, and antagonistic. read more

I have had a number of poor experiences here. The most recent was particularly stunning. I was waiting in the customer service line because I had accidentally left a bag at the store. There was probably 5 people ahead of me and the woman at the counter didn't seem to care. She didn't call for backup, even when the next customer was visibly agitated and asking for her to get someone. They all just rolled their eyes and took their time finding someone else. Then when someone did come, the worker laughed at the customer and told her to "have fun" complaining to the manager. Then she disrespectful after she left--talking about her to everyone. I've worked in customer service before and I know you get cranky and impatient customers... but you have to assume the best in people and hear them out. And she should have called for backup (three employees were just standing there staring at the situation). read more

It used to be scary to shop here especially with my children. It was dark and dirty and had an unexplainable smell with a feeling that you might actually get robbed in the produce section. But since the renovation it is 100% better! Very clean and I don't fear coming here like I used to. read more

I shop here after I shop at Aldis to get whatever Aldis didn't have. I think they have the best prices for a large grocery store. When you fill out the questionnaire on the receipt they actually read it. They called me about a problem before and fixed complaints as well. I am usually able to get everything I need here. And prescriptions which is nice. Checkout usually doesn't take to long. It is in need of a remodel which they are in the process of doing. Oh and they have a Post Office here as well. I am a seller on eBay which makes it convenient to ship while I shop. read more

After waiting in line with a small quarter-full cart of baking goods for 29 minutes I think I'll make a statement by taking my business to another store. All the cashiers were moving like they needed a nap and it's only a few minutes before noon. No managers helping out. Long lines this Christmas week with the least amount of lanes open for check out. Well if it were up to me i would give them no stars!! Today I used the last of my gas to go shopping at Meijers. I was limited on funds and I was planning on using a gift card and an EBT card. I patiently went through the store, got my items and kept a written tally. Then I got in line, put everything on the belt and I overhear the cashier telling the customer in front of me that none of his credit cards (5 or6) are working. She said it may because he was canadian???? Turns out that the computer systems were down and she knew it. So we ask her if our ebt card and gift card will work and she said no. So.......No signs, no announcement, no one at the door to stop you from wasting your time, and a cashier who really did not care......grrrrr...frustrating! OK I live in Taylor and have been coming here for shopping since I was a little kid. The store is typically clean and for the most part the staff is very friendly and helpful. Now onto the negatives. Don't shop here at night. I have a 2 year old so we try to shop at night so it's not packed when we are trying to get shopping done. Now when I say at night I'm not talking midnight. Usually we are shopping around 7-8pm. This is important because for some reason they decide to leave only one lane open at this time. Doesn't matter what day of the week (I've been there every night of the week) they only have one person working a register. I don't get it. The lines are still pretty busy and the self checkouts take each person extra long to get through. Do you know what it's like to try and do self checkout with a two year old? Even with my husband this is not an ideal situation. Now if you go on a Sunday night be prepared for almost half the shelves to be empty. I do understand that they have to stock at some point but again...this isn't midnight or something. But I don't deduct for that too much. My main issue is the cutting back on the staff. I went there twice this past week and even on a Saturday during the day they only had maybe 1/3 of the registers open. Why? Now instead of giving a one star for real reasons I am giving two stars because after looking at some of the reasons some people gave a one star I felt bad. Really? A one star because someone was in the bathroom stall you wanted? LOL read more
