    Front - it's huge!

I had long avoided this Kroger, despite frequenting the Town Center because it seemed to be crazy busy at all times of day. My neighbor kept telling me that during the pandemic this location was safer than most. I had mostly been doing pickup only, but after getting the vaccine started to venture back into stores. I wanted to go inside to check out the new Dope Asian Street fare among other things that were added after their big remodel. I decided to combine this with a weekly grocery shopping. The minute I walked in I was impressed. Immediately to the right is one of the larger floral sections I have seen in a Kroger. In front of that is a vast produce section. They had drinks from Suja that I had been seeking out for sometime that no other location had. They also had a nice section from 80 Acres farms (hydroponics). Other notable special features include Dope, Saladworks, and Sushi walk up restaurants. There is a special kiosk for freshly popped pop corn. There is a sit down bar with many wines and beers for sampling. They even do special events and live music in this area! The bartender was very nice! The store was clean, the employees were friendly, and I found everything I needed and then some. There are many more options of varieties and flavors for each brand at this store. There is a nice combo of self check out and manned check out stations. Dont forget to recycle your plastic bags at the front of the store. There is even a nice Cincinnati mural that also gives a nod to the Anderson Area! The garden selection outside and seasonal inside is a bit small in comparison.

    The line

Waiting in a pickup line for an hour and twenty minutes before someone came to talk to me to tell me my order that was supposed to be picked up from 6-7 that was pushed back to 7-8 still isn't ready at 8:20 and that I'd have to cancel or pickup tomorrow. This is exactly why I placed my order for pickup, I didn't want to have to spend hours getting my own groceries. I understand that it is not the workers fault but it is the managers fault and with this situation it's clear they're over working their employees, not staffing properly or allowing too many orders to come in. Horrible experience. One start is for the works doing their best.

Got my chicken tender meal with double mashed potatoes and gravy. And I stopped by Starbucks to get my big mug for reaching 400 Stars.

I love this store because all of the customers know me very well. And I get very attached to people like a peace of tape. I have worked for this store for the past six months and the associates that i also got very close with have treated me with respect, love, kindness, and most of all getting rides from them.

This store could be the most poorly run grocery store I have ever been in! I have to force myself to go each time and I only go because it is within 3 miles of me. Today was the last straw. It started by virtually no carts to be found in the lobby. Then the store was out of 3 items I planned on getting so I decided to just checkout with what I had and leave only to find 5 out of 25 check out lines were open. People were waiting 5 deep in the aisles to check out. Not a manager to be found. No one walking around showing any concern for those of us waiting in the lines. If you're going to open this MEGA store, you better be prepared and clearly they are NOT.

Stay far away from the pharmacy. If you call they are so nasty and do not call back. The lines are long .

On two recent occasions I was pointed in the direction of Chef Ray and immediately felt at ease and comfortable in the conversations we had with dinner decision making.

If Jungle Jim doest have you probably don't need it! There…read moreis food from every country! There are candies and cookies and canned meats and fish, spices and sugars and so much more! There not 1 but 2 kitchen stores in it with most any tool you need to prepare your food! The cheese department is amazing! There was a little dark haired lady with glasses...didn't catch her name...but she is a cheese wizard! She found 2 obscure cheese for us on the shelves. There is a bar!! Yes a bar where you can get a beer or glass of wine! You can taste test wines before you buy! That is wonderful! And for you whiskey lover you can buy a shot of whiskey! The produce...fruits and veggies from all over the world! I actually found fresh prickly pears! Most everything is reasonably priced. If I lived near here I would need to build a large pantry onto my house! Lol...someone has a sense of humor for the restrooms! Thry were beautiful and clean inside! The cashiers were wonderful. A must visit place if you are in the Cincinnati area! Allow some time. We were there 4 hours and didn't see it all!

From 5 to 1…read more.. Jungle Jim's East has introduced us to countless foods and products that we likely never would have discovered otherwise. For many years, our weekly routine was to stop at Sam's Club for staples, then head straight to Jungle Jim's. We'd grab a beer, leisurely wander the aisles, pick up the rest of our grocery list, and almost always leave with a few unexpected treasures. Unfortunately, over the past several months we've noticed a steady decline in the overall shopping experience. Prices have increased noticeably, the quality and consistency of the produce department no longer seem to be what they once were, and many everyday grocery items have disappeared from the shelves. These aren't obscure products, but rather common items that many shoppers regularly purchase. After asking about the changes, a checkout clerk confirmed that Jungle Jim's is intentionally shifting away from being a traditional grocery store and focusing more heavily on its international market offerings. While we understand and respect that business decision, it no longer aligns with the reason we originally shopped there. What made Jungle Jim's special for us was the combination of unique international products and the ability to complete most of our regular grocery shopping in the same trip. As that balance has changed, we've found ourselves making additional stops elsewhere to find basic items, often at better prices. As a result, we've decided to move most of our grocery shopping back to Kroger. We'll still visit Jungle Jim's occasionally for specialty and international products, but sadly it is no longer our primary grocery destination. We sincerely hope management reconsiders the direction of the store, because we'd love to return to the Jungle Jim's experience that made us loyal customers for so many years.

Great restaurants and shops in and near Findlay Market, Cincinnati!…read more We had a free day while visiting relatives, and any day is fun at Findlay Market in the mid-north of the OTR (Over The Rhine) area of Cincinnati! (Well, not Mondays when they are closed :-). Parking isnt free, but it's not too expensive, and we had no problem finding a space in the North Parking Lot between Findlay Street and the market. We came in through a covered outdoor walkway, with a few vendors and with clever sayings along the sides. Then a cute photo-op with a cartoon Reds statue. Then the market stretching left and right, full of fresh produce, meats and cheese, and ready-to-eat foods of all kinds. On our first walkthrough we just scanned left and right to see some of what's there. It was busy, but not uncomfortably crowded. Out the south door of the market onto Elder Street, there's several murals, and more shops and restaurants. We always stop in at Maverick Chocolate Co. for a few yummy samples from so many flavors. They used to make the chocolate here, and now it's made just across the river in KY, where you can still get tours and probably samples :-). We sampled around six varieties! And decided on four. But it was a hot day, so we decided to circle back later for our purchases. The staff was welcoming, and maybe they didn't really know that we would return, but they were still just as kind as can be :-). We walked west to Elm Street to the stop for the free Connector streetcar, just to take a little ride around town, partly to see some of the hundreds of murals around town! And we got off again, later, at the same stop. Right there at the west end of the Market building there's an outdoor bar and patio. I, myself, was ready for a little refreshment, and they poured me a delicious local bourbon cocktail, while others of us had local craft beers. We found shaded seating among probably 20 or more round red metal tables, with chairs that were really raucous when moved! The seats fill and empty in fits and spurts, and there"s a handful of backless stools at the bar, so if you wait a little, you'll find a place to sit. We dove back into the market for some freshly-made pierogis, and a to nearby bbq, too. And afterwards, we circled back to Maverick for delicious fresh-made artisanal chocolate :-). Yum, yum, and more yum! We saw so many places we want to return to! Findlay Market has everything! I'll post a very few of so many photos that we took of a full, fun day. It's a nice area to walk around, shop, eat, and drink. And it's a great spot to catch the Connector streetcar to get around OTR and downtown Cincinnati, to within a-few-minutes-walk of the porch-swings overlooking the Ohio River near the ballpark :-)

There were several ethnic food vendors (Jamaican, Mexican, Columbian, Vietnamese, ect). There is also an open fish and meat market as well as other vendors and places of interest.
