For the most part the store is clean and organized. The bathrooms on another hand are HORRIBLE. There was toilet paper stuffed in 3 of the bathroom stalls. It smells horrible, toilets and floors were dirty. I don't think the bathrooms are checked very often. read more

This is almost unbelievable, but I completed a survey due to a bad experience purchasing a clearance tag bakery items (my own risk, I know). Within 48 hours I received a personal email from Mr Byrd, Asst Store Dir !? He offered a gift card for my inconvenience and I thought it was a fake email. Meijer is not typically one of my top shopping destinations, but I visited recently and was able to find everything that I needed. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to find a pair of winter boots for my toddler. The store for the most part was organized and well stocked. It was moderately crowded, and it would have been helpful if there have been another checkout open because the lines were pretty long I expect that when I need something in the future, I will be more likely to return, knowing that they will probably have what I need. read more

When I walked in I could immediately smell the fresh produce which was something that I haven't experienced before (not to this extent). However, the place wasn't the cleanest, we were not greeted or helped by any staff, and the spirit selection was extremely limited. Employees are friendly throughout. This was by far the shortest wait I have experienced at a Meijer bakery. My oldest son was actually the customer. They listened to what he had to say. They treated him like an adult, and with respect. We found everything we were looking for, and then some. Maybe a little too much "and then some." Selection for most items we looked at was ample. The only thing has not impressed me is the produce. This location also has one of the locker style Tide Dry Cleaners at the front of the store. Target and Meijer are next to eachother, in this center. The designers of the center clearly planned for projected large crowds. Ample parking is available. read more

I used to love this grocery and recommended it to everyone. That has stopped. Columbus Pike location has been remodeled and it is now a Department Store that sells groceries and not a Grocery store that sells other items. You cannot find anyone on the floor to help you before there was staff all around. The grocery stock is so minimal in a lot of areas that you're lucky if you get what you want. The a/c seems not to be working. Some brands are now not carried. Looks like meijer brand took their space. They did not redo the prehistoric drive up window in the pharmacy. Huge almost ankle deep bodies of water still sit in the parking lot after it rains. Would it have hurt to plant some trees in that massive parking lot. Maybe the Meijer family is now like the Walton family from Walmart. So far from their founders beliefs and so wealthy they just don't care. read more

I shop here for late night convenience. Last night with the parking lot gated off and only having the lot near the home door which was LOCKED available. Forcing people to walk the outside front. Squeeze past the garden stuff. A cart couldn't even fit by. I have a huge cut on the side of my leg that is still hurting the next day from squeezing past the garden equipment and I tripped over the hose they had just thrown all in the wall way. Really tried to give this fruit/produce section a try, and 1 year later I'm still disappointed. The fruit is never fresh. Most of the time it's either soft and moldy or there are flies buzzing all around it. Rudest and least helpful checkout people ever. I was waiting in the self scan for age approval on New Yea'a Eve poppers. my register and three others were flashing red for over five minutes with no help. I approached two different people with Meijer uniforms to ask if someone was available to help. One just stared at me and I explained the situation and she said she did not know. The other said she was the greeter but could help find someon. When she did find someone the lady came over and screaming about how she is just coming back from break and so sick of "entitled people". We only wanted to check out. The place was not even busy. The time it takes to get a attendent to investigate and adjust the price isn't worth the bother when you have to keep having to wait for each item that didn't ring up properly. I ended up last night paying full price because I had had enough asking for help. This post is regarding The grocery pickup. First the Meijer app is poor. So many issues with even trying to create an order then the lack of notification about the status of the order. I get to the store but you couldn't notify them of your arrival in the app so after texting the number in the sign and waiting 20 minutes I called and then another 20 minutes later the order came out. I noticed items missing when I got home and had to go to the website to then see the items that we're unavailable. I was still missing an item and also got smashed bread. I then had to call customer service to get the item credited. The whole ordeal took over 90 minutes from arrival at store until my order was complete. I could have gone in and shopped and been done and satisfied. I doubt I will use Meijer for grocery pickup in the future. Kroger and Walmart have this down right. Kroger even takes paper coupons at pickup. read more

This is our neighborhood Meijer and I'm thinking it might be in trouble. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and all the lights in the center of the store were off. The entire clothing section was pretty dark. It was very strange and gave us the feeling that maybe things weren't going well for this Meijer? Anywho..overall decent Meijer location. Their merchandise is reasonably priced for the most part. They do have really REALLY good clearance sales from time to time. Seriously like insanely good deals. It's always fun when one pops up and you can buy a bunch of crap you probably don't need but for the price why not (I'm looking at you leather ottoman with blue-tooth speakers inside). They used to have these amazing chicken fingers in their deli that I would get all the time, but they haven't had them in a while, and I recently noticed that their not even listed on the menu. Major bummer. I mean, I hope this place doesn't close down, I do enjoy shopping here from time to time. Located right next to Target, which I would rather shop here. I usually shop Walmart, which I noticed the pricing is similar. They have a grocery section which I love and home goods have a great selection. The area is clean and staff is friendly. They also have a printing section which a co worker needed to get reprints. The staff was very accomodating and the pictures turned out great. I can't believe the price was so cheap in matte finish. I would rather shop here than Target. read more

Reached out to the company before posting this. Did not receive a response. Thusly I am posting this review in hopes of helping other customers to avoid potentially hazardous effects. Aside from obvious supply chain and stock issues, there is a plethora of expired food throughout the store.While making my weekly grocery trip I found myself hard-pressed to find meats that were not obviously stored poorly swollen packages and expires meat were scattered throughout the coolers. After sifting through the sparse selection I managed to find some that looked satisfactory. I still think I should have avoided it all together. While meat was worrisome I wondered if packaged sealed food would be safer. They were not.After getting home and sorting through my groceries, I found myself throwing out quite a few things that were sealed... well before their expiration date, and moldy.As if that weren't enough to make me swear off meijer and their ever-declining quality, I found myself awkwardly turning down one of their stock boys who had followed me across the store to tell me that I "look good" and asking me if I "have a man" while i was on the phone with my partner. It's a shame that these grievances weren't taken seriously but it's a bigger shame that while im sifting through subpar, poorly handled food I am not even safe to expect professional employees.Do better. They guys at the meat counter are always soooo awesome. They will always cut me fresh meat, package it how I want and smile the whole time. They know what they are talking about! I can usually find stuff here that they don't carry at other stores. The mocha Keuring coffee pods are always hard to find but are always in stock here. There are also some fresh herbs and fruits that I can always find here. The produce is hit or miss but I think it is a bigger selection than Kroger and is usually fresher. When I have needed to find the hot toy for Christmas, I have been pretty lucky here. They keep the toy shelves stocked and offer great deals. read more

For the past year, we've done most of our grocery shopping here - it's just down the street and closer than Hyde Park Kroger - but we recently tried Trader Joe's, and I think that will be our go-to from now, even if it's a little further away. I don't have any qualms about the selection or the pricing...it was a rare occasion when we couldn't find what we needed. The thing that ruined it for me is the utter lack of customer service. No one, from the folks behind the deli counter to those working the self-checkout lanes, smile or even talk to you unless they absolutely have to. I see that some other reviewers have had different experiences...I don't know what accounts for the difference, other than you must have come on better days that I did! I can't remember a time when an employee was flat out rude, but it doesn't make for an enjoyable experience when you feel like you're bothering or inconveniencing someone just by asking them a question. Don't expect them to go out of their way for you, either. I suspect we'll need a thing or two at Meijer in the future, but I would like to avoid going back if possible. read more

Horrible customer service center! I came to ship 2 packages, got yelled by a pale brown hair round face fat woman for about 3 minutes about how I should have written the address prior to my arrival. Because "they have nothing for me to write address on the box". Then I found my pen and plan to write, she then said I couldn't write on the box, and angrily threw me a piece of paper from their printer. I thanked her and apologized, I said "sorry I've never been to this meijer before". She was all of a sudden very furious and yelled that "All meijer is the same!" If you were to be blindfolded and walk into Meijer, I doubt that you could tell the difference between it and Wal-Mart. And I hate Wal-Mart. With a passion. I came here on the recommendation of a friend, who said it was cheap. I started off in produce, where I quickly discovered that this store has a VERY small selection of organics. I mean, like 1 package of tomatoes, and three half rotten bell-peppers. I then started to check out their conventional produce, which I quickly discovered was also crappy and half-rotten. Of a pile of 100 or so red bell peppers, 90% of them were mushy and about to go bad. The straw that broke the camel's back was the absence of fresh cilantro. Not a big deal, I know, but to a person who is already pissed, that was the end of it. I literally left my cart in the produce section, and stomped out, reusable tote bags in hand. Don't come here unless you don't eat produce, don't care what it looks like, or have a penchant for cheap, dirty mega stores with unhelpful employees. read more

Every single trip to Meijer includes coming home and realizing you just bought expired or almost expired food. Also I've found their food packaging seals are typically opened already. Terrible management, employees, and all around shopping experience. It would be incredible if Kroger and the other stores put this place out of business and a different retail vendor came into our loved home of Oakley. This review is specific to the pharmacy. Over the past year I have dealt with an illness that has brought me to the meijer pharmacy about once a month, not to mention having to go for your normal medicine, toilettes etc needs. In the past, I had gone to a mom and pop kinda pharmacy where i know i would get good advice and get excellent service. I am lucky to have found similar service at the Meijer Pharmacy on Marburg. They have bent over backward for me on multiple accounts. For example, i was running late from work to pick up a prescription and I called right as they where closing and stayed open an extra 20 minutes so that someone would be there to give me my prescription. Amazing. On another day, I was having trouble getting ahold of a refill from my doctor. The meijer Pharmacist hooked me up with a 3 day supply and said they would take care of getting things worked out for me so i dont have to play phone tag with my doctor. Three days later, My script was filled and i was happy. Whenever i go in for something like cold medicine, the pharmacist remembers what Im already on without having to look it up and makes recommendations. Its never a fun experience to deal with sickness, but the crew at the meijer pharmacy have helped me feel comfortable and I know I can rely on them in the future. read more
