I love krogers overall because of all the great deals. However I truly dislike how they only have one cashier available. They continue to push you to do self check out and not even a discount for doing it. Location has plenty of parking . read more

The service was bad , lady at cash register was very rude to my mother . My mother hardly knows english so she asked the lady of she could removes some items she had already scanned , the lady then rolled her eyes and started being rude to my mom , my mother and i were nothing but nice to her because sometimes people are having bad days but she had no reason to act that way towards my mother . I know considering the location, this should be expected, but the rudest pharmacist works here. Her name is LUZ. I have never experienced a grown woman rolling her eyes at me the way this lady did over a simple question. You are at work lady! Show some respect! read more

Kroger is coming a long way, but still has a ways to go to get a 5 star review. I like that they are carrying a lot of vegan options, but of course I would like to see more. I wish that Kroger could be more custom i put oriented. Lastly, sometimes in the past I would drive up to 3 different Kroger's to get things because depending on what side Houston you live on depends on what that mangers order. This is true for many stores, but because I really a Kroger's customer it is very evident. Plus I see the money Kroger's puts into technology like self check out so I know they could do customer surveys and get items on the shelves that customers want. Plus in the past Kroger's did not pay a competitive rate. With Covid 29 I hope Kroger's is doing better. read more

This is my neighborhood Kroger location and I have been coming here for years and years. I have to say this store is not one of the best locations in the city but I know it is because of the demographics in the area (which is sad and a whole conversation for another time and place). The store is generally neat. Employees are curteous but overly helpful or polite. Can only enter through the exit after 8 PM and security is usually around. After 9 or so, only self-check out available. And they don't offer mobile to your car orders or a fuel station. *Brittany is the best- always cheery and extra-extra friendly. Mr. Curtis is the manager & keeps it professional. read more

Carts are damaged because of the customers. It has nothing to do with the employees. They don't get paid enough to go blocks away to get carts. The carts are damaged because us customers think we're entitled. The store is very filthy with exception of pharmacy. Bathrooms are never cleaned but who's fault is it? Customers. Why? They are dirty because of the customers. Treat the damn public restroom just like you would keep it at home. It's that how y'all keep the restrooms at home... They need someone in specific to do cleaning duties only though. Seen one to two big roaches roaming around. Health department where are you? I think they need to raise their pay because I barely see anyone working. read more

Good Afternoon: What has happen to Kroger on Telephone and Bellfort. I am so disappointed. This Kroger is in my neighborhood. it has gone down down down. The manager is never their to talk to. The floor is nasty, nasty nasty. There is never enough baskets to put your food in. The Deli never have food. I can go in the store 3 different times a day and there is no food in the deli department. No cooked food for dinner or lunch. There is no veggies or fruit put out. No coffee bar or gas I have to go to Kroger across town to buy my groceries. What can be done to inprove the Kroger and staff. Help Help read more

I love this Kroger. it's not as large as the typical Kroger where you will waste too much of your time getting your shopping done. Its small enough get in and get out quickly with just the basic necessities. It your looking for exotic foods, well this place is not for you and I would recommend Whole Food or Central Market in the more upscale part of Houston. The pharmacist knows me by name and is very respectful. Extremely good customer service with them and the cashiers there. The stockers there are helpful and will bring out stuff from the back if you request it. It is true that this Kroger is in a not so desirable part of Houston contrary to a local Realtor has advertised in his flyers of the area. I do recommend carrying a pistol for your protection due to the fact that I do know people who have been shot, stabbed in nearby businesses within a 3 block radius. The overweight Hispanic Harris County Deputy Sheriff do side jobs there is a laughing joke. While he is too busy looking at his smartphone at the exit, the crackheads are stealing stuff from through the entrance side. I've seen people steal rims from the parking lot there during broad daylight. You may get lucky and see the Frito Lay stockers fighting amongst themselves. The positives of the store outweigh the negatives and I will always go to this store even though I live 30 minutes away. read more

First of all no one should discriminate against anyone based on their clothes or their color or their tattoos. And The older lady running the self checkout is too busy discriminating on what she thinks would steal from the store versus who is stealing. I literally stood their and watch her do it to a couple. But what's crazy is someone right under her nose wasn't ringing up there stuff. Like why have her their if she isn't going to do her job the correct way. Train her better or move her to another area. I'm very dissatisfied with this Kroger's ability to cater to everyone. Being a women of color it's sad when our people are own worst enemy. Smh read more

Kroger - Great store and great employees and great value at this store - Grocery Near Me - Houston, Texas

This location is one of the smaller ones in town. They still have a deli which is nice for a quick lunch. The beer selection isn't that great, just standard grocery store selection. They usually always have the mega items in stock which is great because the larger stores are always out. read more

If I could give this place a 0 I totally would. This Kroger is a joke. They make up their own sales to purchase items. They have false advertisement and do not honor sales ads. They act like anything is coming out of their pocket or if it affects their paycheck. I had stopped shopping here 5 years ago and decided to give it another try tonight and they are still the same joke. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT at its finest don't shop here read more

This is my neighborhood Kroger. I have sadly watched this store go steadily downhill. The store is always busy but is no longer staffed properly. This has led to the aisles being clogged with boxes needing to be unpacked to then stock the shelves. Many items on the shelves are nearing their expiration date. Despite several talks with management I have yet to see any improvement, so now I drive over to the Kroger off the beltway. Today I did just that but I forgot the bread, so I went back to this location on Telephone. The store is still dirty and I saw 2 mice, separately, on 2 different aisles. To top it off the prices are higher here than the beltway location, so I feel like this Kroger is taking advantage of the seniors and low income residents in our neighborhood who can't afford to drive farther out. The only department that is clean, stocked properly, and is staffed by professionals is the Kroger Pharmacy. The pharmacist is helpful and highly knowledgeable. I would love for Kroger to revitalize this location, staff it properly, clean it up, and add an in-store Starbucks. Hire a General Manager here that cares about his/her customers and the surrounding community. Our neighborhood deserves better than this Kroger! read more

Kroger - Kroger at corner of Telephone and Bellfort... - Grocery Near Me - Houston, Texas

Horrible horrible horrible service. Just left the store. I would give zero stars if I could. We waited in a line that should have not taken as long as it did. All registers were closed, except for self check out and one 15 items or less register which we waited at. There were several employees standing near by doing absolutely nothing. Just horseplaying. If anything they were working harder to ignore us than to actually help us. I noticed a couple of their name tags. Alexandria and Paul. The others had their tags hidden by their jackets. Our cashier Paul purposely took his slow time even though their was a long line and none of the other emplyees offered to help bag. We ended up bagging our own groceries. And they all seemed perfectly happy to let us. The store was a mess. All the aisles looked sloppy. Very disappointed in my neighborhood store. read more

I like shopping at kroger but the one thing that i dont like about this place is the karts, They're so dirty, wish they can change the karts, and also people please check the experation dates on your food, they be putting the old dates in front and keep the new dates in the back of the items... And the restroom are so filthy. read more

This kroger is in the ghetto , so they supply this kroger with the crappiest food. I can't remember a single time I was happy with the produce here, I feel like I'm always picking through the selection, searching for the least bruised or moldy fruit. I've been shopping here for YEARS cause its close and not hectic like the Fiesta down the road. My grandmum can't read the expiration dates on things here so she's constantly buying things that have reached their "sell by" date. This is totally unacceptable to me. I dont see why every Kroger can't live up to the standards of the Krogers in rich neighborhoods. Its dissapointing. The employees are nice. read more

This is my neighborhood store, only about 2 miles from my house, and I visit it multiple times each week. I'm sad to give it a bad review, but the deli does not respect the posted hours (8a-10p). I can come anytime from 7 PM to 10 PM and the deli will randomly be closed with no posted change in hours or explanation. This has happened 6 or 7 times, and it is just indicative of how they do business, and how their managers approach customer service. read more

Maria is one of the nicest and helpful managers. Always eager to please the customers. Yolanda is very efficient in checking and managing the front end. Christine always makes sure to take care of the employees and customers. Debonecia (self check out & floor supervisor) is also very friendly and makes great for loss prevention! You won't make it far if you're attempting to steal! The manager Curtis always puts the customer first, he's always friendly and asks how everyone is doing. read more

This is a good Kroger. I have been shopping at this store since 1976 and have not had any problems. Some of the cashiers are still there.

I have been shopping at this store for over 20 years almost exclusively. A few days after Hurricane Harvey I went into the store to buy 5 cans of dog food and a bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar. When I entered the store there was police officer sitting on a stool near the entrance looking at her phone. When I walked into the store near the self check out there were 2 more police officers standing near the self check out joking around. After I got items I went to self check out and paid (I have never kept my receipts). Well, when I was existing the store the police officer on the stool by the exit asked me for my receipt. I then told her I don't have it as I do not keep my receipts. Within a few seconds the 2 other police officers were in my face asking my for my receipt. I then told them I do not have it. They then told me I am not leaving the store unless I had proof. I told them to go ask one of the employees since most of them know who I am. Then one of the police officers put his hand on his gun and told me I was not going to leave unless I had proof of my purchase. Which was $5.61. I then told him go check the machine I am sure it is still there. He then came back with a receipt and said "Show me you vinegar. I pulled out the vinegar and asked him if he wanted to see the dog food as well? He said no you can leave now. I said no, I want to talk to the manager. A young gentleman by the name of Mr. Ritchey came and asked how he could help. I told him what happened and he apologized. Right after I left I saw him and the police officers laughing about it. I called the store and asked for him when I got home and told him what I had observed between he and the 2 police officers. He said he was not laughing. I told him I witnessed it and that I was going to call corporate. He then said call them if you want and hung up on me. A few days later I called corporate and made a complaint. I was told someone would get back to me in 2-3 business days. Well, over a week went by so I called corporate again. This time I was transferred to the store and the head manager Mr. Burns answered. When I told him what happened he said it was there policy to check all receipts and it has always been that way. He then contradicted himself later saying that they would not have stopped me unless there was suspicious activity. Are you serious??? Me be suspicious buying 5 cans of dog food and some vinegar that cost $5.61. Later that day I went to the store and purchased a few items. When I walked in there was one police officer who was on his phone from the time I walked in to the time I checked out. This time I grabbed my receipt left and came back in. No one asked me for my receipt so I asked for the manager. When Mr. Burns showed up I asked him to look at the police officer who was still glued to his phone. I asked Mr. Burns if he wanted to check my receipt since no one else did. He just looked a bit dumb founded and said he was sorry and that he did not need to check my receipt. I told him that Mr. Ritchey should have had better procedures in place that day I was harassed. The police officer on the stool at the entrance should have been telling everybody when they walked in to keep their receipt and that the store managers need to give their security team better guidance on really paying attention. He said he could not control them since they were not his employees. Who get's to show up to work and play/watch videos, text and talk all day on their phone and get paid for it. Well this Kroger's security team get's too. One more thing! 7 times out of 10 their are no shopping baskets. You have to walk out and find one in the parking lot while security is playing on their phones. Not to mention this is not that safe of an area . Oh and by the way, NO ONE from corporate has ever called me back. Even though I will have to drive further, my business is going to HEB. read more
