Kroger has the best fried chicken. I ordered in advance for a potluck. The deli requires 24 hour notice and there are many options. I chose 48 pieces mixed. It was 48.99 and I was able to select the pickup date and time. Super easy process. I went to the deli to pick up but called first to confirm it was ready and it was. The only issue was the bottom of the box looked to be torn. The lady added tape to the bottom to secure it. Then found the handles to be torn. I told her not to worry about it, I picked it up without the handles. The chicken was very good, well seasoned and huge pieces. My group enjoyed it and I will use their deli again. read more

If I could give this review with zero stars, then I would. I ordered cupcakes for my seven-year-old's birthday party a week ahead of time. I ordered 12 chocolate cupcakes, and 12 vanilla cupcakes, all with rainbow sprinkles. I went to go pick up the cupcakes on the day of the birthday party and they were completely wrong. They told me they ran out of chocolate for chocolate cupcakes so they made them all vanilla. Also, I ordered rainbow sprinkles (and even pointed out what sprinkles I wanted on them that were on a display case cake already), and they put fall colored round sprinkles on the top. These cupcakes were absolutely nothing like what I ordered. I am absolutely disappointed and will no longer be buying any of my baked party desserts at Kroger. Epic fail, Kroger! read more

DO NOT get gas here! In November of 2024 we got gas at this location. Driving off the lot our car began sputtering. We took the car to Firestone where they found water in our gas tank. We contacted Kroger, filled out a form and submitted all the supporting documents and was told that we would hear back from a claim adjuster at Sedgwick. Information was submitted to the adjuster on Dec 4th. In February I sent a follow up email requesting an update from Nathan Chidester. Needless to say, I didn't hear anything back. I called yesterday May 7th asking for a supervisor and was sent to a voicemail. On May 8th, Nathan, who has been incognito since December leaves a message on my husbands phone saying that the claim was denied because they couldn't prove there was an issue since no one else reported a problem. I don't live around here. But wish I did. Kroger store of this size would get my frequent business. Not sure why reviews had the serious criticism with this store. I was driving from IAH Bush Airport to Lint Luat Temple to visit a friend. On the way out, I noticed gas was low. I had to get to a Kroger Fuel Center quickly. Luckily, this one in West and Beltway saved me from pushing my car with an empty tank. I was ticket shocked with $54 for a full tank. My last refill was only $35. Yeah I don't drive that much. Inflation made me a little agitated. Grocery store was really cool, it was hot outside. Smells good too. There were lots of younger people wearing skimpy clothes to show off their muscles. Yeah. I like the multiethnic clientele. Parking lot is huge. Getting here was a breeze. Employees were pretty friendly. I'm definitely coming back when I visit temple again. read more

This Kroger is fine enough unless you're a produce-heavy shopper. Attached to this review is a picture (taken approx. 11:30 am on a Friday) of what appears to be mold on some avocados at Kroger. Earlier on, I bought some potatoes at this location, and when I went to cut them open only a day later, half of each potato was molded on the inside. They clearly need to step up their quality control when it comes to the produce section. Only come here if it's close to where you live. read more

Totally average Krogers. The fish aisle smells super strong by the end of the day so I would not buy raw meat here. Totally fine location for buying canned foods. I found a lot of the canned item section dented which was annoying. I haven't interacted with any of the staff so can't speak to service levels. Usually lots of parking and not too busy mid-week so good for a quick in and out. They sell the glass bottle 1836 milk and I could not find the raw flour tortillas so not sure if this location sells it. read more

Every time I come to this specific store I always have a bad experiences. I only keep coming here if I even need something kick because I live 2 mins away. The lines for checkout & self checkout are always super long & move super slow. Shopping carts are old & always wonky. Produce is always bruised & have fruit flies. I enjoy coming to this location as it is close to home, and a convenient area closed to many neighboring businesses I visit. Workers are friendly and nice for the most part. They offer so many new healthy items, including vegan products. I recently stumbled across almond whip cream which is exciting to see for those who are lactose or cutting out dairy from their diet. I love the variety of products they now offer, which helps me not have to make a trip further to my local HEB. The only downfall is that their prices are a little pricier than HEB. But, the location makes up for that! I also visit their pharmacy more often now, and think they have quite a nice staff. Very friendly and give great suggestions when needed. I also enjoy the walk up window outside the store. Very convenient for when you just don't feel like walking into the store. Parking can be an inconvenience, but at lease it's spacious enough to maneuver around. There is also a Starbucks inside the store, as well as outside around the corner of the store. Instacart Service for Kroger: This is not all it is cracked up to be. After hearing about how convenient it is to use a grocery delivery service to save time, I thought I would try it. I must tell you, I am not sure I would ever do it again. I logged into my account via Kroger and placed my order. There were several substitutes made along with my eggs being broken once the groceries were delivered. That is not that big of a deal, but the problem was when I saw my receipt. I received my "Final Bill" receipt, via email, that said my total was 80.02, which with the substitutes, was about what I thought it would be. Imagine my surprise when I opened the receipt and viewed the details. There were 3 alcoholic beverages that I was charged for, that I did not order, nor did I receive them. My bill was $121.64, that is $41.62, more than the email I received. Once I was able to reach a customer service rep, after a 22 minute wait, I was told that it would take 7-10 business days to receive my refund. WHAT? That is crazy! They can take my money at will, without my permission and then hold onto it for almost 2 weeks. I placed this order on January 13th, I called today on January 18th, and I am now being told the refund has been issued, but it may not reflect in my account until the 27th of January. That's 14 days! I wasn't offered any free delivery from Kroger's, nor was I refunded their delivery fee. If you choose to use this service be sure to check your detail receipts. read more

I've never actually reviewed a grocery store before, their lack of produce, they didn't have the rotisserie chickens ready, the meat aisle smelled bad, they didn't have the chicken portions I wanted or pork ribs. So poor selection in the meat department. I went their specifically there to buy a product and got it home to discover it was broken. So I drove all the way over there for poor selection and a broken product. Then, I had to turn around and bring the product back. It was a total waste of time. Shop at HEB better selection and lower prices. read more

I have recently visited the Gessner Beltway 8 location to purchase grocery's and on two separate occasions purchased/ returned meat products that were spoiled. A pork tenderloin and the other item was bacon poppers. Each had a disgusting smell when opened and had sell by dates that were good. The items were returned the next day but I feel that the store has gone down hill and didn't care or apologize for the issues. I observed tomatoes that have had mold them still on the shelf and told my wife after that we will not be coming back to any Kroger stores for these kind of issues. Maybe because I'm a creature of habit, but this is the only Kroger I like going inside to shop. The layout makes sense, they usually have everything stocked, and the staff does their job. Parking can be a pain after work but the lot is large so you'll find a spot, though you may have to walk a good distance. Unfortunately, they don't offer the service where you order groceries online and pick them up. You have to go down to the West and Jones location for that. Hopefully in the future they'll add it here because sometimes you just don't feel like grocery shopping. One small note, there's a Starbucks inside this Kroger that is awful. Like literally everything there tastes terrible- drinks and food. If you need some coffee or a lemon pound cake(mmm) go to the actual Starbucks outside (same parking lot, around the corner past Verizon). read more

The old blonde hair lady in the customer service is racist, when I have problems with my card before they always to help me( it's not the 1st time my digital card have problem) , but today that lady give me the attitude that like I'm a scam , and she did not even want to help me. I don't know why my card been use and I ask her can she help me, she said it been used I have to explain 1000x time that I didn't know who use it because I been out of town for 3 months. I did try my 2 brother card and it didn't show up( if I can not do it the lady at the register can told me that, when I ask her "am I ok to use the different card when my did not have a discount show up") . I like shopping at this location. The store is clean, they have friendly staff and a good selection of products. They have a nice meat and fish counter and decent produce also. My only suggestions would be to get new grocery carts as many of them have broken wheels and sometimes they don't take expired products off the shelf so you have to be sure to check the expiration dates on some items. Overall this is my favorite grocery store in the area. read more

When I got to the Service Desk at 3:15 pm today, there was already 6 people in line in front of me. When asked, one of them said that they are waiting for the lady to return from her lunch. Another lady from the Express Check lane called the manager (black guy with red vest) and he paged over-head. Kaylee came and attended the service desk. I didn't leave until 4:15 pm. I do not come to this store but did this time and will not be back. The service desk has two computers and saw several employees walking around aimlessly and not offering to help. Kaylee didn't even apologize for extended delay. It starts from management. If management don't care, what do you expect from employees. Customers keep your lifeline going. This store saw life briefly as an Albertson's, then when Albertson's pulled out of Houston Kroger bought it and opened it. For a number of years the Kroger's operated as 1/2 an Albertson's, with an odd mix of former Albertson's fixtures and Kroger's replacements. Overall this store had a very good variety of foodstuffs, reasonable prices, friendly help, startling better than the Krogers Signature only a few miles down West Road. Then, a year ago they re-did the store and it wasn't a good move. In the style of other Kroger's they revamped the aisles into series of unbroken rows that go from front to back of the store with no center aisle - all the better to make you hike past miles of items they want you to buy. There's a vastly increased selection and quantity of high-profit prepared foods. The cheese, egg and other dairy products have increased in selection. The selection of organic and natural foods has increased but they are horribly expensive - I can get my favorite work-lunch Kashi frozen lunches for $2.99 at Wal-Mart but they're $5.79 at Kroger's. The store is more confusing to navigate and hey still have to provide guides and a person at teh entrance to help people find things. Overall, I think the store has slid a star from before but it's still a decent place to grocery shop. Now if they only would do a public service of shooting the parking lot idiots. read more

Super friendly Kroger , never had an issue always clean. I always find items I'm looking for and staff is always so quick to help me when I need them! If you buy any of the ribs on sale or steaks and want a certain cut the butcher will gladly help you with that. They are so friendly and I always find great deals. The only bad thing is this location can get pretty crowded on the weekdays after people get off work and on the weekends. There is a pharmacy manager named Mike. HE IS THE WORST. I've never experienced such terrible customer service and attitude. It's horrific that he is a MANAGER. When you're going to a pharmacy, you're typically not feeling well. This man was so ugly to me I feel worse than I did before. He literally REFUSED to apologize when I called him out for his lack of customer service. Then I spoke to the store director - Belinda. She was much more pleasant but it really rubbed me wrong when she tried to dismiss the issue by saying she'd give me a gift card. This review is only for the SILVIA in the floral department. Today, like most people during graduation season, I stopped Kroger to buy flowers and balloons to go with my graduation gift to earn REWARDS POINTS. I was undecided (browsing for 10min) but finally decided on a basic balloon, roses and a MUSIC balloon. I was never asked if I needed help, which is no biggie as I could see Silvia was assisting other customers. Long Long story short, I purchased 1-$12 and 1-$2.99 balloon (you can guess which one was the musical one) and a gift card (wanted to get the 2x points). My daughter was holding the balloons during check out while I handled the entire transaction. I take my flowers to the floral counter so Silvia (the clerk) can wrap up the flowers on a green tissue with ribbon. I showed her the receipt just like She had instructed me to do so earlier and she noticed I only paid 2.99 for 2 balloons. She said I needed to go to customer service get a refund and buy the $12 balloon or simply switch out the. $12 balloon for another $2.99, so I switch the balloons out and ask her to proceed with wrapping the flowers since I was running late. Unfortunately for me, Silvia didn't want to wrap the flowers until I told her which checkout line I went to. Say what???!! I told her it was an accident and didn't want to get the check out clerk in trouble (My tone was pleasant but no cursing or crazy women antics) BUT Silvia was on a mission to STOP the in justice of accidents caused by distracted customers like me. She had to call the MANAGER before any wrapping could commence. No manager arrived BUT I walked out with my flowers, 2.99 balloons and left behind my $.02 I called and spoke to Maurine, customer service manager, who was apologetic. read more

Basic grocery store. I usually get gas only here and pick up things if I forgot something. There are no bulk food options, and sometimes do not have more specialized products like cake flour. This Kroger doesn't carry too many specialty foods and most of the produces is a little old. It does get a bit crowded on the weekends, and after work there is a line at the gas station. While shopping here I asked the cashier if she had a Kroger rewards card so I could apply it towards my purchase and she said she was out of the cards. I walked over to the next cashier and asked for one and it was given to me, no initiative from from the cashier at all. I was also going to purchase some Ice cream that apparently had the wrong price because some of the other customers were told the sale had already expired. Kroger's does seem to have some good deals. Horrible Krogers! The cashier was high on something took for ever to ring up 4 items, after I told her the price was wrong and that they had a sale on a particular item, she said it's not. So instead of calling for help she makes me take her to the are and show her the sign. This store is the worst for produce, general selection, and open check out lanes. I usually drive right past this Kroger on Saturday morning to go to the one at Jones road, where I do my regular shopping. I only shop at this store mid week when I need an emergency or last minute buy. I usually only have an item or 2 and try to use the self checkout but there's ALWAYS a line of 6 people. And don't get me started about the regular lines and wait times. It's almost worth going to another store for 1 item than it is to stop at this one closest to my house. read more

I go here all the time for lunch items and will continue, but there nut/dried fruit/PB area needs some basic re-stock every now and then. Past two times I've been there they have absolutely zero peanuts to make your own peanut butter. Their Raw almonds and walnuts have been out for a while too. Just some basic re-stock please!
