I was in the store early this morning and was surprised to see at least two customers with their pets. Neither animal seemed to be trained as an ADA service animal. One was being carried by its owner, while employees were petting the other. This probably violates a few health regulations. Still, no one cared to inform the customer that their pet was not allowed in the store. A service animal must be individually trained to perform a specific task or job for a person with a disability. The task must be directly related to the person's disability. For example, a service dog may guide a person who is blind, alert a person who is deaf, pull a wheelchair, retrieve dropped items, detect the onset of a seizure, or perform trained psychiatric tasks for a person with PTSD, panic disorder, or another qualifying disability. read more

This Kroger on Hwy 72 and Jeff rd needs to get a grip on their panhandling problems quickly or they are going to lose a lot of regular customers. Twice this week we have been approached by people going around the store asking multiple people for money. Quite a few of us will be shopping elsewhere very soon. WOW! Nothing in produce as you walk in and the story resonates throughout the store! Minus one star. Also, for what they do have...they are sponsoring inflation headlines because it costs a fortune! Minus a second star. They had me out of convenience-I needed to drop off my daughter's car for service nearby. I ran in with a small shopping list-- nothing unlike what I purchase every week. On top of limited supply, I had to check myself out...minus star number 3...and I was robbed! This trip easily cost me $30 more than I would have paid in my normal routine. I won't be back! I won't be back, Kroger. Your special digital coupons for things you don't have in stock, the fact that there was no option for checkout aside from doing it myself, and because your prices are inflated beyond belief! Being in such a small town and having a Starbucks available close by is such a perk! This review is for the Starbucks inside of the Kroger. Staff is very friendly and polite. I wanted to make sure I got my stars so the cashier advised that I add cash to my app first before paying to get those stars for free drinks. There was only one cashier when I first arrived but luckily another staff member arrived shortly. This location has plenty of parking outside and has mobile ordering. They have plenty of merchandise aka cups and trinkets. That Valentine's Day tumbler is absolutely gorgeous! read more

Kroger at Huntsville West Alana store. Worst customer service for car service delivery. Huge gap between customer service area and other areas where they are not willing to work with each other unless management stops in due to customer complaint. Cashiers purposely talk and talk to customers, even though the transaction is completed this Kroger customer service needs to be revamped in every aspects. read more

BEWARE of the SUSHI @ this Kroger. I do not live near this Kroger, but about 6 months ago, I was walking thru this Kroger and several of the sushi rolls looked pretty good. I was starving, so I bought one. It tasted great, but I had a pretty significant tummy ache for the rest of the day. Now - FAST FORWARD to Thursday, June 13, 2024: I was back in this area & had to pickup a few things for my wife. I hadn't eaten lunch, and the sushi looked good - so I caved and bought the salmon sashimi and the seaweed salad. Oh My Gosh - I have been glued to the commode all day. It tasted "okay", but it has had the worst effect on me. Don't get me wrong, shame on me for buying sushi from a grocery store - but they need to indefinitely close the sushi "station" at this Kroger. read more

I think this Kroger has a lot going for it! It's always clean, the parking lot is well maintained (no runaway carts), there's a sanitization area inside for the carts as well. The produce area offers a good variety (when it's stocked). The cheese section always has many options to choose from. I really like the whoohoo deals as well! One of my favorite sections of this store is the plants - they often have good deals on house plants, and their plants are in good shape. (Unexpected perks of grocery shopping!) For this most part this is a great store - but it is true that it's been more than once that I have seen them coMpletely out of certain fruits / veggies. read more

Kroger is absolutely amazing. No it's not the brand, it's this location and its employees. I come here probably 1-2 times a week to pick up odds and ends, and order through ClickList once every 2 weeks. The ClickList is the best part of this Kroger, they do all of your shopping for you and they take paper coupons as well as your coupons on your Kroger card. It is by far the best money and time saver I have ever experienced. The meat department is very fresh, and the meat service counter has the best bacon and burger in the store. Fresh and you can choose which patty or steak you want. The Deli and bakery is amazing as well. They meet any and all of my expectations, and if you are hungry around lunch, go grab a sub from the deli or some amazing fried chicken. Did I tell you that you can order platters or catering as well? It is SO convenient. The produce area is very fresh as well and they have such a wide variety of wants and needs in the store. The layout of the store goes perfectly starting with Hygiene and personal products to the west wrapping around with dairy, meats, and ending with produce on the east. A ton of aisles in the middle for those snacks and frozen goods. Overall, this Kroger is great, it is near my workplace, and they have wonderful deals. I will definitely be back! read more

Krogers Pharmacy - Hwy 72 W Huntsville Al - I received a notice today via Text that a prescription I had was ready for pickup .... it was a series of shots to improve my Testosterone levels. When I drove out to pick the prescription up, the tech informed said they had the syringes but not vials of medicine. WHY would they believe that is acceptable? What good would the syringes do for me? They had no answer to "when" the medicine would be available. They asked if that is ok and I indicate "ABSOLUTELY NOT" It was a hour of my life wasted on the drive and worse, I am in need to the prescription. As they say it it time to move on to a more considerate and professional pharmacy. read more

This Kroger is 1/2 block in the opposite direction of my regular route home from work. I forget it's there. When I *do* go, I like it! Why? Donato's take and bake pizza for the hubs; an extensive international selection of products (spices, coconut milk, etc.) if you are making an ethnic dish; buy 6 bottles of wine, get 10% off the wine purchase plus a cute/reusable/washable wine tote (without having to remind the cashier) with your Kroger plus card, and fill up your gas tank with the points you earn for spending in Kroger proper. You can't beat Kroger's prices either. Only complaint is that it gets super congested in the parking and enter-exit area which adds time to your shopping experience. This Kroger is one of the best I have had the chance to visit. I live extremely close to it and thus started shopping there. It is always clean, stocked, and the people there are extremely friendly. They have self checkout lanes on both ends of the store, which is more than other Krogers I have visited. They always have good deals and its located in a nice part of town. It also has a gas station that offers good deals with extremely polite employees. The store layout it also very nice and organized. I will definitely keep shopping here. read more

I have had multiple bad experiences with grocery pick up at this store. This last time I waited in the parking lot for over 45 minutes to have them bring out the order. No apology or compensation offered. Wish they would adjust the amount of pick ups they offer in time limits if they don't have the staff. read more

This Kroger just opened recently, and I was much dismayed that when we visited it on opening day I could not "Check in" because it was not yet added. This Kroger seems much nicer than the ones we've visited on Oakwood or Memorial, and hopefully that feeling lasts. When you walk in, it has a feel a bit more like Fresh Market or Earth Fare, but once you start going down the aisles it is a bit more like a normal Kroger. Their grand opening sale was awesome, and I stocked up on 60% off cereal. That was good in itself, but it also means that their normal price is too high. What my wife and I are looking forward to, though, is having fresh fruits, vegetables, a bakery, and a Starbucks within walking distance of our home! They run good sales, so we will go for the sales, but this probably won't replace Target as our main grocery stop due to the price discrepancy. Also, we were super depressed at how quickly the gas prices climbed here. They started off at 2.739 per gallon while the BP near it was showing 2.839 per gallon, but now they're pretty close in price. The only other thing taking away from the rating is the traffic. They installed a traffic light FAR too close to the Slaughter/Jeff/72 intersection, and I think everyone knows the traffic here is already bad without another light for incompetent drivers to randomly run or stall at. Also, the turn into Kroger from 72 is probably going to cause problems. It's a straight/right turn lane with two right turns into Kroger that are also exits onto 72. I've already been cut off by people leaving Kroger who assumed I was turning right when I didn't have my blinker on. I see nothing good coming from this traffic pattern, at least not for a while. read more

This is a solid supermarket. It is massive but well-kept and clean. I normally do my shopping on Sunday morning because it is less crowded. Judge me for not going to church if you want, but my personal sanity is at stake because people annoy the crap out of me. This Kroger probably has the best variety of items out of any other grocery store in town. They have a robust cheese section, a decent selection of fresh meats, a large veggie/fruit section, and even an organic/health food section. I've found things here that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. For instance. I had a recipe that called for queso fresco. This was the only place I could find it around town. So thanks for that, Kroger! The thing that bothers me is, out of three separate trips here, one specific item has consistently lacked in quality; avocados. Every time hit up the avocado basket, they're always extremely over-ripe. Just handing the things will sink in the sides. Avocados should give a little when gentle squeezed, but not like these. If it happens once, ok that's cool, but for nearly every avocado to be that unusable each time I've been there, well that's a problem that needs to be solved, my friends! Also, over $4 for a dozen free-range organic eggs? That seems a bit ridiculous but I haven't comparison shopped so I don't know if the price is competitive. Just be warned. Without the couple of problems this is easily a 4-star place. Fix the avocados and we'll talk. Otherwise, this is still easily one of the best grocery choices in the Valley. The collocated gas station is nice, too. read more

Worst grocery pick-up experience of my life! I wish I could select 0 stars! They called me and told me it was going to be two hours late. I called and asked to speak to a manager, and after holding and getting transferred to the wrong department, I talked to someone who clearly wasn't a manager. I wasn't happy, but ok. I get there, after having to completely rearrange my schedule, and call in. They say we will be with you in a minute and I wait patiently. Someone walks to my window and asks my name. It still takes 20 minutes for my order to come out. The server hands me a paper, and doesn't explain what it is. I have to get out of my car to ask her what it is, because she acted as if she can't hear me. Then she finally tells me that over half my order has been substituted or was unavailable. She didn't even have the decency to ask if I accepted those substitutions, she just started loading my car. Apparently because I am a black woman I am considered a threat, so now everyone who comes to my car comes out with a partner. Trust me, as an educated black woman, no ignorant employee or mid-level manager is worth my freedom. I ask to speak to a manager, they take 20 more minutes to come out, and are ridiculously unapologetic. I do get a refund that was reversed to my card, but I still don't have groceries, and I have to wait 3-5 business days to get my money. I never would imagine saying that Walmart has better service, but I have never had to wait longer than 30 minutes for my order to be ready and I certainly have gotten much better service. read more

Great grocery store with great prices. The produce department always has fresh items to choose from that are properly rotated. There is an decent selection of cheeses to choose from they they allow you to sample before purchasing. The deli has a great selection of meals and cheeses as well. This is a BIG Kroger with lots of fresh vegetable and fruit options. They also have a small international foods section, kosher section, and other specialty sections that you wouldn't normally find in every grocery store. I like the idea of the Kroger card, but I'll have to crunch some numbers to see if it's really saving me that much money. There are a few specific items that I can't find here that are staples in my house, so I would actually have to also go to Publix to get those. They are things I would assume that every grocery would offer but apparently not. It will take me some time to get used to the layout (which doesn't fully make sense to me right now - like the bread in the middle of the store) but I will write an update once I get more familiar with things. read more

This is definitely not your Mom's Kroger. You'll quickly notice that its much bigger and "fancier" than the other ones around town. They have big, wide, clean isles so its really easy to get around (especially if you use one of their awesome mini carts...). They have a wide selection of pretty much anything you could need. Be sure you stop at the customer service counter if you don't already have a Kroger Plus card...it will save you a good bit of dough. They have weekly online coupons that you can also add to your Kroger Plus card. They automatically count towards the applicable items as you check out...no coupons needed. read more

The most vegan options I have come across in the Huntsville area, but I believe they are missing some great options that are available at other grocery stores nearby. Very close to being 5 stars but this location has far less options than what I am used to at the Kroger I frequently visit in Georgia, so it already has to take a loss due to the comparison but still a decent size store, good options, good location. Just your usual Kroger, which is a compliment of course. Always a plus to have plenty of vegan options, I'm just slightly biased. read more

I've shopped here for years with no complaints- until now. The ability to have food steamed in the store makes life 10x easier, but I began to notice some discrepancies. During the day, I have no issues. If I go anytime after 6:30 p.m. up until the seafood department closes, the machine is always "down". I thought that was genuine, until an employee told me that the night shift lies about the steamer being down to avoid doing work. The employee added that their old machine had a shortage, so they purchased a new one months ago. It was suggested that next time this happen, I question the employee, and/or call a manager. I went the very next night just to see what would happen, and I was told that the machine was down. I countered that (respectfully), but was told that the machine had a shortage and goes out frequently - sound familiar? The employee stated that many of the night shift workers do in fact lie about the machine being down to avoid work, but insisted that they were telling the truth. It's definitely hard to identify who is actually telling the truth, but it's clear that at least two employees are well aware of the problem and nothing has been done. read more

The ladies in the floral section are true angels. First off, I have always bought flowers here for my wife's grave. The flowers are always fresh, arranged beautifully and at a very good price (not that it matters, no price is too much for my lovely bride). On 2 March 2018 the two awesome florists took extra special care of me. I travel 4 1/2 hours to get to Huntsville. They heard a sigh of disappointment when I first got there. We spoke for a couple of minutes and then they make a beautiful flower arrangement with exactly what I was wanting/needing for my wife. The kind words and thoughtful actions of these two ladies helps restore my heart. There is kindness and caring still in this world. They went above and beyond. I will never buy flowers from anywhere else in Huntsville, this is the ONLY place my bride will get flowers from. Thank you for a beautiful, well maintained store as well. I was/am always impressed by the cleanliness, friendliness and massive choices as well. I wish I knew the ladies names that help because I would love to put a HUGE THANK YOU out to them. read more

So I stop in on business since there is a Starbucks and a big sign that says free Wi-Fi in the place! Figured I'd pick up a few other items while here. The Wi-Fi sign couldn't be any bigger mind you. Well I get inside, order my coffee to make my Wi-Fi use legit and am then told well it don't work well. I then ask (3 times) if I could see the store manager to let him or her know of my disappointment. And that they should not advertise free Wi-Fi when the whole place knows it don't work! Multiple employees told me this. He tells this young Starbucks girl to tell me they apologize and doesn't even bother to come see me personally. Poor leadership. Poor customer etiquette. And poor ownership of a problem. I won't be back and suggest that with this sort of attitude that you don't either. What are they interested in of not happy customers and visitors that want to spend money. Fix your Wi-Fi and treat your customers better. It's cheap and simple to do. read more
