This store has everything you could want in a grocery store. Not a fan of the attempt to include clothes, etc., though. The only issue I have with Kroger is the corporate decision to not have enough registers open during peak times, like 4-7PM and 9PM when people get off work. Also missing the open 24 hours! This store is the worst grocery store I've ever been to. Always out of things. Produce is subpar. Employees at the checkouts are great- that's the only good thing I can say. Went there last night at 10:20. They're open until midnight. The entry on the left is closed. Entry on the right, outer doors were ok, but the inner entry door was blocked by a big sign, a sign not relevant to whether or not they were still open. I looked outside, didn't see hours posted- I thought they were open till 11, but it's actually 12. No sign posted to use the exit door for entry. Had to wait for an employee to come out to ask and he said "just go in the exit". Why would someone block the entry door if not to discourage customers from entering?? Kroger pharmacy. Waited 20 minutes on line with only two cars ahead of me. This is precisely why I get my prescriptions filled elsewhere. Drive through is supposed to be a convenience. It was not in this case, and has not been in the past, which is why I ONLY go to Kroger when I need my script more immediately. Well, kinda immediately. I actually started packing but there were so many of them I couldn't access the bag. So while they had their back towards me and I stared at the manager she finally said something which didn't really get them moving. They weren't talking about anything serious and were laughing. Cashier finished packing and apologized! That should have been the manager after she showed by example! Wow! Summary: Lori needs some retraining if she's the manager. Also, deli was fine but the lady helping had issues with slicer. I don't think she has enough strength. I'm generally a fan of Kroger's. This one is the closest major grocery to my daughter's place and makes a very convenient spot for general food supply shopping. Located within a major strip plaza on OH48 south of Centerville, it is easy to access with plenty of parking. I like what Kroger has done with their interior arrangements recently. This particular store has received a revamp in that fashion (or perhaps it was built that way if it was a more recent opening...I'm not sure). These improvements enhance the shopping experience as it is much more pleasant than the older style Kroger's. The prices here, at the same time are quite competitive. This is a good, solid choice to do your local shopping. read more

This is a newer Kroger Marketplace, replacing an older store, but I wasn't super impressed. For the nicer area this is in, the store should be nicer. I stopped in to get some stuff to bring to clients. I also browsed a little bit as I had some time before my next stop, but wasn't overly impressed with the selection. It was hard to find an employee to help and beyond me several others were waiting and complaining of the same thing. Late morning I could not believe how insane this parking lot was. In-store there are only about 2 maybe 3 cashiers ever working so we decided to try the curbside pickup. There are currently 20 cars in line with only 2 workers. I've been waiting 45 minutes and been asked three times what my name is. The workers seem lost. Extremely inefficient. Get better Kroger. Your Dayton locations need improvements. I headed to this location across town because the standard Kroger closer to us did not have all the items that I wanted. The store, with all the extra stuff like clothing, can be a little hard to navigate (and find everything) but I was eventually successful. Overall, not a bad experience except that the checker was a little unfriendly. Maybe because I had my own reusable bags and she was not prepared for that? It's surprising to me that Kroger's in Ohio still use plastic and don't encourage reusable bags. read more

Great place to shop.... Even had several kinds of foods prepared and/or items ready to go. Produce department made my day, they had really nice looking cabbage & leaf lettuce. Also a variety of avocados, ripe ones, ready to eat 39 cents apiece, large ones, 99 cents each, although not as ripe, could use a few days to ripen. They had smaller ones yet, that would take a while to ripen, in the refrigerator; 1.39 each. I was thrilled. Kroger usually has good variety. They also have 1/2 pound packages, usually three items of meats & cheeses, in a value pack, already sliced and ready to go for sandwiches or snacking. The staff were pleasant and ready to offer advice, help, and/or directions to find better bargains or where a specific item would be. Mostly smiles and good natured folks. Many items packaged for gifting "Mothers Day" recipients, flowers and candies. Also various items of interest as well. They do also have a salad bar; for making your own salad to go, soups and a few other items. They offer Hispanic and Asian foods as well... I must say I am a fan of the Centerville Kroger Marketplace. It is a very large store (there is a Fred Meyer Jeweler inside - not sure I am going to be buying any jewels while I'm shopping for pasta, maybe if I went to the wine tasting first...but none the less...knock yourself out if you are in the market for some new sparklers while looking for your spaghetti!) It is going through a slight remodel, to add clothes, which I have to say I am confused about. I am not sure what Kroger is trying to accomplish by adding a small clothes section. The clothes I saw this past Sunday, let's say were not my taste. I am guessing they are now trying to compete with Meijer, Walmart or Target, but with one small section, I am not sure what the point is for that matter. They need to focus on what they do best...food, personal care items, wine/beer, pet items, etc. The produce section at this particular Kroger is da bomb! It totally rocks, I love the organic selection it is huge! Whooo hooo! This Kroger has a nice organic selection overall too. The whole store has a much better selection than the Kroger Marketplace here in Lebanon. The associates were very friendly that I encountered. My cashier was very pleasant, and the associate that bagged my groceries was extremely nice - even though it was very busy on Sunday. Thank you!! Put on your helmet and elbow pads if you're going to this Kroger on the weekends. It's *constantly* packed with people. I went at 11 on a Sunday morning thinking I'd beat the crowd...yeah, I was wrong. Anyways, aside from the mass of humanity, this store is pretty nice. You can find pretty much anything that's on your grocery list (and, as one reviewer noted, a lot of things that aren't on your grocery list). I have been a loyal customer to Kroger for many years. I know many of the baggers by name etc. The pharmacy is in desperate need of new employees especially pharmacists or managers. My daughter suffers from epilepsy and the last 3 months we have had to beg every time we go into the pharmacy to get her pills filled. We are told they are not ready... come back tomorrow. They are on backorder etc. today I was notified the order was ready to pick up, I go and take my lunch and sit 30 min in the drive thru. I ask why is it always such a hassle to get my daughters prescriptions filled. I am told the pharmacist is counting the medication it should only be a couple more minutes. Ten minutes pass the pharmacist comes and tells me they have no pills to fill for her. Please keep in mind my daughter has to have these pills to avoid seizing and possibly dying. They don't care. Not their problem. After raising hell the pharmacist says she is having bellbrook pharmacy fill them that they have some. I am sitting at bellbrook pharmacy where they were never called to fill them. I called the pharmacist (Indian gentleman) who proceeds to tell me if I don't calm down he is ending the conversation. This is my child's life and they care NOTHING about it! Avoid this place if it is important medicine that your life depends on they don't care!!!!! I won't go back- not even to the store. I must say sugar creek Kroger pharmacy was amazing and so helpful and nice! You have some major problems at this store centerville and it's a huge shame !!!! read more

This location get points for boasting the largest sized Kroger in N America. Seriously, it's just too much. The variety isn't different, just twice as much of the same processed low priced food. Now that We have been bombarded with false advertising about discovering local, I have been checking out different locations in search of local produce. I am is disappointed! They have lost my trust. It's okay to be the low price option in Dayton, just don't promote a false image. It's not becoming. Kroger is a great chain overall, Dayton is fortunate, the stores here are much nicer than even Cincinnati but I just wish they would stop pretending to be something they are not. read more

Location will not sell tp or water to delivery or pickup orders. In addition, not only does the Manager refuse to pull items for the pickup orders ahead of time when the trucks come in, but the Manager actually raids the pick up orders that aren't picked up for stuff for in store customers. He actually said he wants all customers to shop in store instead of the drive up or delivery. This wouldn't be too bad if it were not for the fact that 1) We're in the middle of a pandemic and many elderly or immune compromised people are being told to avoid shopping. 2) the lines weren't super long. 3) We weren't ordering our stuff FOUR DAYS ahead of time. read more

I wish I had a 0 star option. I've heard that they are not allowing them to wear protective gloves when handling the food or dealing with customers. In fact, a click list employee was sent home because he refused to remove his gloves. Their reasoning...it's not a good look for the company. Seems to me it would be a great look because they would appear to be taking this virus threat seriously and would want the public to see that they care about their customers as well as their employees. I saw a video message from the President and CEO of Kroger, Rodney McMullen talking about what they are doing to protect their customers and associates during this crisis. Kelly is a terrible FRONT END manager. nobody likes her. she's always grumpy to Employees but puts on a fake face to customers. its fucking ridiculous. half the time when its time for my break she is off to god knows where or i come up to her and ask for my break and she says no, while im 3 hours into my shift. usually she makes me wait like 30 more minutes for a break or she wont even come back to tell you to go on your break. i end up leaving for break on my own, plus the break is late. management sucks, please fire kelly. read more

The store never finishes "re-doing." The aisles are either too narrow or too big, as they were tonight. The bakery was empty of people and supplies. The shelves were quite empty. There is a constant change in product brands. There is too much junk lined up against the walls going toward the bank and the pharmacy. There are few meats that are packaged for a small family. I shop here based on proximity. Put your walking shoes on prior to shopping because you are going to need them just to get to the dairy department. The store is just too, too large. I used to work for this company for the last 9 years; South Main Street Kroger in centerville, Ohio. I have witnessed first hand the decline in management. The managers used to know everyone's name and talk to them like they were friends when Mr. Eldridge and Mr. Welbalm were in charge. Now the only manager left that knows who anyone is, is Mr. Miller. All the others are in and out of the revolving door and only care about cutting overtime. I recently quit this place (for better employment) and was promised my last vacation week. It has been two weeks now and I haven't received my last paycheck even though I have been repeatedly told that it is coming, and we put it in a "better" way by hr and a co manager. The new store management is completely impersonal and incompetent. I don't know how many times it takes to get my final pay or if I need to go to the union for it. I will get my due pay! read more
