We stopped by this Kroger while in town to pick up some supplies and grab a coffee at the Starbucks inside. We don't have Kroger where I live but I'm familiar with them from the Lansing area - this one is massive! I love grocery stores in general so I had fun looking at all the stuff we don't have in Michigan. Plus they have a big cheese counter and a BAR! I've never seen a Kroger with a bar, so that was funny to me. The prices were cheap but it was a Sunday morning so they were not open. I saw they had a sign about trivia and my brother said that people love to hang out there because it's so cheap. We ended up getting a platter of sushi that was in a flag-shaped container for Memorial Day, it was so funny to me and the sushi was actually very good for grocery store sushi. read more

This Kroger's is a pretty extensive grocery store with a wide variety of products. I like shopping here because they do have a variety of different products and most are reasonably priced. A few things in particular that I like: 1. The pet department aisle is pretty good. I have two cats and they have The World's Greatest Kitty Litter which I prefer because it's natural and my cats seem to like it. They also have a variety of wet and dry food, cat treats, toys, and even bedding. 2. The deli area is pretty decent with a wide variety of cheeses and meats. They also carry the Home Chef brand of dinner meals which are really good. 3. Drink aisles have a wide variety of sodas, water and bottled drinks. 4. There are some small appliances such as coffee makers, and cookware. They even have K-cup brewers and Keurig's K-cup coffee maker cleaner. 5. There's a wide selection of greeting cards and gift cards. 6. Frozen food aisles, dairy area and even bakery area are pretty decent. 7. There's a seasonal area that usually has a variety of sweet treats around Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter. The things I don't like about this Kroger's is: 1. Items aren't always fully stocked. The Home Chef meals I mentioned earlier run out pretty quickly, especially if you go on the weekend in the afternoon. Some bottled water options also run out quickly. I don't know if they keep things in stock in the back, but this seems to be a reoccurring event at least from my experience. 2. Sometimes they have employees stocking items at the busiest time of day. This can get a bit annoying trying to get around employees, with their big stocking carts, especially while you're shopping. And it's not just one aisle but can be many aisles simultaneously. 3. This is at a very busy intersection and can be somewhat challenging to get into especially after 3:00 pm. I go in via Feedwire Road. Getting out is more challenging. It's just a very busy area with cars zooming in and out. Sometimes I'll cut through the adjacent Costco parking area to get around traffic. 4. They could do a better job in opening more self checkout lines and even regular checkout lines especially during peak hours. Overall, it is a nice store with a variety of items and they do seem to have most things most customers would need. There's also a wide selection of wine, if that's your thing, and a small bar like area where you can have a drink. Sometimes the bar area will even have musical entertainment. It's comparable, to some degree, to a Meijers but without the clothing, electronics, or shoe departments. They also have a pharmacy and Starbucks coffee but I have not used either. I've been to the Krogers off of East Dorothy and Stroop and it is the best out of the three. I give this Kroger's store a solid three stars. read more

Beware!! I just had yet another issue at Kroger Cornerstone with items not ringing up at the sales price. The weekly ad showed that Tostitos Chips were 4/$10 ($2.50 each). The regular price is $5.99 each. I bought 4 bags of chips but they rang up at regular price. I then had to go to Customer Service where a very rude and not customer-friendly Kroger Employee (Macy) told me that "I didn't have to be so condescending". I told her I was not being condescending, she disagreed and I just stopped engaging with her. This Kroger Store is NOT interested in Customer Service at all. I like the Cornerstone Kroger because it is large, it has everything I shop for and the employees are very helpful. Helen, at the self-checkout nearest to the customer service area, is friendly and welcomes customers to her area. She has a great attitude and pays attention to her customers - I almost left my wallet in the checkout area when she noticed it. She goes beyond customer service at the self-checkouts I've used at other Kroger stores. read more

Knowing that the state mandates a lunch break for all pharmacy employees, it boggles my mind why all employees take lunch at the same time instead of half going on lunch then the other half when the first group returns. Not every customer can just sit and wait while the pharmacy completely closes in the middle of the day. There is more than one pharmacist working. read more

Just like another review the bakery customer service rates a negative 100. Asked about getting a cake made. The employee was the only one there and was grabbing her coat and walking out the door even though the sign says the bakery was open for another 2 hours. When I asked about ordering a cake for a certain date she said "What day is that"? So I looked it up on my phone and said it was a Tuesday. Then she starts to mumbled something about Tuesday and Thursday nobody would be there to make it and then stared straight ahead like she was thinking but no reaction. No idea what she was doing after her mumbling and me asking her what she said and her hands on her face. Think her plan was the wear me down because she was ready to go home and doesn't want to make cakes. So she won, and I said I didn't know this was going to be so hard and obviously she didn't want to take or make the order which is like 2 weeks from now. Not sure why they even have a book to order cakes cause their employee is thinking how she wants to leave and not have to make the cake in the future. I saw another review about the bakery and they are correct. Rude and hoping customers just go away. Now for checkout....what a joke. If you go early, there are zero cashiers, only self checkout. If you are there on a busy weekend, 2 cashiers tops, one bagger and if he/she/they/them is on break.... bag your own groceries. Sometimes the cashier helps you a little bit. Then there is self checkout. You can either fight with the registers with the small area you balance your groceries and the register always has an issue and you need to wait for help from the employee standing there. You can have 6 registers all with issues at the same time and one employee trying to figure it out. Then there is the 2 registers with the belt. These are even worse. You can guarantee watching customers get pissed as the belt always has issues and send your product right back to you when the belt goes in reverse. Now you need to wait the same employee helping the other 6 self checkout problems and when they do fix it and walk away 2 products later same issue. It can take 30 minutes just trying to do self checkout. Gotta love how Kroger now has brainwashed customers in to being cashiers, and baggers for free and we get the frustration of dealing with their crap equipment. If there is a manager at this store I hope you read this. I never actually see a manager. Oh and if you go to the customer service desk 9/10 times there is nobody there. read more

This is a warning about purchasing physical gift cards from anywhere. The one I purchased just happened to be from Kroger. And it should be noted, I've never had an issue with Kroger. The first problem was the self-checkout register was out of paper and couldn't print a receipt. So, customer service printed one out for me. However, it didn't have the little credit card receipt that it usually has. When I asked about that, she said it won't print that part out twice. I reminded her that it didn't print out at all but there wasn't anything she could do about it. The $200.00 Visa gift card was part of a birthday gift for my daughter who lives out of state. I shipped it along with the other gifts. When she tried to use it, it was declined. I contacted Kroger who told me to call Visa. Visa told me that only the person that registered the card could take care of the situation. So, my daughter called, and they told her only the person who purchased it could take care of the situation. So, I called again, and they told me she would have to call. So, she called again, and the customer service rep said someone tried to purchase something on Google Play for $2.00 but that she would have a replacement virtual card in 24 hours. 24 hours went by, no card. She called again, they said she would have to fill out a fraud report and she would have her virtual card in 1 hour. She filled out the form, an hour goes by, no card. She calls back, now she's told could be 72 hours. She asks for their supervisor, and now they said she would have it today with no time given. When I researched this problem, it's actually very common. Fraudsters take the cards, pull back the tabs, take pictures of the bar code numbers, put the cards back then wait for them to be activated. They will make a small purchase to see if anyone is paying attention. Looking back, I do remember thinking when pulling back the tab to scan and pay that the tab was unusually sticky. I believe retailers need to keep gift cards behind the customer service desk. I will NEVER buy another physical card again. read more

Self checkout scanners are absolutely terrible. Even service assistant had continuous trouble. Scan...if you put in bag too soon it locks up. Scan...if you put in bag too slow it locks up. Went on n last week to order a cake for my daughters graduation and the person at the bakery was very rude and short with me. She informed me of I wanted to add a picture or make any changes I had to do it by the 19th. I went in today, the 17th and a different girl was there to note the changes I wanted and was also pretty rude and acted disgusted with the changes I wanted to make. The shelves are well stocked and neat make it easy to find product. The staff is well informed about where everything is, even if it's not in their department. And more than one checkout open, not like most stores these days so that you don't have to go to self checkout. read more

This Kroger is the largest and nicest I haven been to in Dayton. It has a Starbucks and all of the isles feel so spacious. I also like its location - I can get a lot of good shopping done in this area because it's right next to Costco, Target and Fresh Thyme. read more

OK..I've been a real crabby lady about their building this so close to "my" Kroger. And I've complained about those huge @ss stores and how exhausting they are. I even drug my feet coming here after opening. And I gotta say I was wrong. I love this store. What's not to love...certainly not the Starbucks, world class cheese shop, wine bar. Wide aisles (my local Kroger remodeled and downsized their aisles making them hard to navigate.) And selection...if they don't have it you don't need it. Also, I appreciate all those "non-grocery" items being in one area along the side of the store. Ic can easily avoid that. And I'm hoping the pharmacy will be user friendly cause I'm ready to break up with slowness and mistakes at my regular place. We loved the Marketplace and wonderful selection when it first opened. We have been disappointed with the Deli, specifically the hot food selection the last 3 visits. The savory chicken is wonderful but rarely available, the worker will tell us they can make it fresh. Once after 30 minutes they forgot to cook it and yesterday afternoon after 30 minutes they tell us they didn't have any to cook (they checked before telling us and had it). I stayed my daughter, son-in-law, grandson and granddaughter in Fairborn last weekend. The weather was cold and the sky was gray. When we did go out indoor activities were the focus and my daughter and granddaughter were not feeling very well. On Sunday my grandson went to his Nannas house to spend the night. It was a school holiday on Monday for Martin Luther King's day. Needing groceries we drove to this @kroger store. It has an expanded markdown area that my daughter likes to look at. It takes up the whole right side corner wall. There were some fun prepackaged holiday dessert mixes but I didn't buy anything. In the produce area I did find some good bagged up markdowns on apples and oranges something that I often buy. The #freefridaydownload was also available for me to get. Several expiring #digitalcoupons needed to be used on this day specifically for a free package of regular size #oreocookies and another for a discount on #krogerbrand kettle chips. The specialty cheese shop did not have any #briecheese marked down. There were some free samples of other cheese to try. This grocery trip was quite successful. We used the #selfcheckout. The wait time was short & the cashier was very friendly and helpful to all the customers. On a previous visit here the same cashier had helped me with a produce item that was not scanning correctly. I have done the clicklist pickup many times and it's gotten worse and worse. I never get texts for substitutions, the wait times to actually get my groceries once I get there are longer and longer. the last time I waited for an hour! This is strictly a pharmacy review. I had a prescription that was at a different Kroger and asked to get it transferred. They said 30 minutes... I gave them 40 minutes... they said 10-15 more minutes... then told me after 1 hour of waiting that they won't even have the prescription in stock until 2 days later . This Kroger is located right next to Costco and Cabela's and is probably the biggest/newest Kroger I've been to. Personally I enjoy this location as anything you need in bulk for cheap can be found next door and Kroger can take care of everything else. You'll find anything you need here and tons of self checkout counters so you'll be in and out before you know it. read more

Rude staff and uninformed pharmacist - am taking both my prescription orders and grocery shopping elsewhere. First gave us the wrong medication that really adversely affected my husband. Then, on the other prescription - that would have helped counteract that, I might add - we were told it would be ready at 10, wasn't ready at 10, then were told noon, wasn't ready at noon, then told 2 because they were really busy. I will start by saying the positive: the store is convenient, the bar has great craft beer and wine selections as well as great prices. However, I have twice been disappointed in the pizza department at this store. Friday Night is touted as being a $10 pizza. The first time I attended this event, I was told that it would be 45 minutes for a pizza, the oven was said to hold only one pizza. Interestingly, there was no pizza in the oven at that time and none being made on the counter. Then last night I returned. At 7 pm I was unable to get a pizza because I was told they ran out of dough, really?? Love this new Kroger! I used to shop at Walmart until they put this Kroger in because it was close to the house and I could easily get food & non-food items at a reasonable price. I now shop exclusively at Kroger and have so many more options for both food and non-food items, have the opportunity to save a lot of money by downloading the Kroger app and using digital coupons and I save money on gas from fuel points. Nice Kroger's, large and clean. I have had issues with the ClickList though, both times I've tried to use it I've been wrongly charged after viewing my receipts! On October 23,2019 around 8am, I decided to go into this Kroger location to purchase a few things for lunch. I selected my items and took them to the register. I let the cashier know that my EBT cards magnetic stripe was messed up and that the card number would have to be manually entered. She wasn't sure how to do this so she called her coworker Dawn over. Dawn can over and I explained to her the same information. Dawn then went on to say that they aren't allowed to manually enter the number and that I needed to order another card. I was agitated and said how it was BS that they wouldn't do this when all the other Kroger locations I had been to never had an issue with it. Dawn then told me that I needed to go back on my side of town because she wasn't doing it. I walked away, embarrassed and found a manager. I didn't catch her name because I was so upset. I explained to her the situation and she also told me that her worker was correct. I explained to her that I was just needing to get a few things to be able to eat at lunch today. The manager then said to me that they follow the rules at her location and that they will not manually enter the card. I walked out very upset. I contacted Corporate and was given $10 credit. Havent heard anything else about it. I felt discriminated against. I went to another Kroger after work on MY side of town and they took care of me with no hesitation.
