Our primary goals were new flooring throughout the home and a complete kitchen remodel. Since we were new to the area, I began researching contractors in the Sacramento region. I also received a recommendation from a friend for a local contractor, so we ultimately obtained estimates from both Condor and a smaller local company. When Tal Pinto arrived for our initial consultation, we walked through the house and discussed our ideas. I had a very specific vision for the kitchen, including painting all of the existing cabinetry. Rather than simply agreeing to the project, Tal took the time to evaluate the cabinets and explained that they were already extremely high quality. He told me that if they were his cabinets, he would leave them exactly as they were. That level of honesty immediately stood out to me. Instead of trying to sell us on unnecessary work, he provided thoughtful, professional advice that was genuinely in our best interest. From that moment on, I had a great feeling about Condor. When we received our estimate, it was one of the most detailed and organized proposals I had ever seen. Every aspect of the project was clearly outlined, including labor, scope of work, and material allowances. There were no surprises and no confusion--just a transparent and professional plan. Once we signed the contract, the process moved forward seamlessly. He never pulled a permit for the job! Finally had a county inspection and not much of the deck he built is actually up to code! He used improper wood for the framing of the deck, no flashing on the house between deck. Stairs not up to code via county. Some of the wood was screwed down so hard that it split deck boards and the framing for the deck. None of which was fixed or repaired. This contractor has done nothing but lie to my face the entire time, the only reason I know this is because I have had the county hit several times now during this process! We started our project in April 2020, during the Pandemic, followed by a supply shortage, and inflation in 2021. Our project was delayed a year and half because of business and government closures. We were facing many challenges but because of Fred's years of experience in the business, he was able to resolve countless challenges. Many times, we were discouraged and didn't know if we could still afford to build our home. Wechsler Custom Homes was able to help us to find solutions to restart our project in October 2021. They worked with us to modify our original plan from 1875 sq to a 1538 sq home, but it still had everything we wanted, and it was within our budget. Once we received the building permit approval in February 2022, Wechsler Custom Homes started breaking ground immediately on February 15, 2022. Our home was completed on October 10, 2022. Wechsler Custom Homes is an excellent contractor. They were able to keep all their subtractors and suppliers committed to their pricing and delivery dates. Meredith worked closely with us and ordered everything early to stay in our budgets. The Wechsler Custom Homes team are all very responsive, friendly, and easy to work with. Meredith was highly organized and helped us to keep track of all of our selections and our budget (she also offered many great suggestions when we needed them). After the house was completed, we asked Wechsler Custom Homes to help us to remove a tree trunk. They sent a member of their crew, Narciso, to remove the tree trunk. For some reason, this tree trunk was very difficult to remove, but with Narciso's relentless determination he was able to complete the job. The Sewer was our biggest issue. Ben, with his dedication and Troubleshooting skills, was able to carefully hookup our sewer to an aged 8-foot-deep public sewer system. We wouldn't have our home built today without Ben's expertise and Wechsler Custom Homes willingness to take on the sewer project when no one else wanted to do the job in a timely manner at a cost we could afford. Fred, Ben, and their crew are truly miracle workers to us! We absolutely love our new home. We have received many compliments about our beautiful home from friends and family, and even from people walking the trail near our house. We would highly recommend Wechsler Custom Homes to anyone that is looking for a turnkey builder to build their dream home.
