Jennifer is AMAZING! I'm a baritone/bass and I came to Jenn to work on stretching my range upward, as I was having trouble doing so comfortably. My background in singing was purely choral; so when it came to higher notes, belting was not something that was encouraged. The point was to blend and thus my falsetto was what I was accustomed to using. While there is no issue with using falsetto, I recently became a singer in a corporate wedding band which required me to discover my solo voice/style. I also have to now sing songs in their original key (Bruno Mars doesn't ring the same using a light falsetto) Jennifer has been terrific in helping me find the correct placement for my voice and getting me accustomed to what it should feel like to reach notes higher than I thought possible - in full voice. I have been meeting with her on a regular and my progress is noticeably better. I can recall what it should feel like with ease and if I'm feeling tight or strained, I can recognize that I'm doing something wrong and adjust accordingly. I not only can sing higher, but my lower notes have gotten richer in the process. I also have a plethora of warm-up techniques that help me to loosen my jaw and get my voice in the correct placement. Every lesson with Jennifer is filled with both laughter and breakthroughs! I always leave feeling in full control of my instrument and ready to hit any stage! Krowne Vocal School definitely gets a 5/5 Woohoo! As good as it gets! rating from me. Jennifer has been such a tremendous teacher and has helped me get better as a singer each lesson i go to her. I'd like to point out that i came into my 1st lesson with absolutely NO prior experience singing so i was a bit nervous to say the least. Jennifer immedialtely made me feel comfortable and helped me loosen up. She gave great constructive guidance with the songs i have sung as well as shown great exercises to help my voice grow and get stronger. I'd like to also point out that the style of singing I'm practicing & learning is rock/ heavy metal. The current song I'm working on is Metallica's "Through the never" which is slightly off the beaten path of song choices for beginning singers. But nonetheless Jennifer has given me the right direction and pointers on how to approach and sing this song. Each week i feel like i'm making A LOT of progress. For anyone looking for vocal lessons I'd say look no further because Jennifer is fantastic and can help and develop any singer no matter the genre of music. I've had four lessons at Krowne so far, and to say that I'm happy with each of them would be an understatement! Prior to working with Krowne, I was very nervous about singing. Fortunately my nerves and anxieties surrounding singing disappeared within the first lesson- all thanks to my teacher, Grace, who is great! Grace is very knowledgeable about the science and technique behind singing, which is a tremendous help.  Krowne's approach can make anyone feel super comfortable, even those who have reservations. My lessons fly by with ease and I'm confident that I'm already making great progress. Furthermore, you can't beat the combination of price and location!   My wife also takes singing lessons at Krowne, and she works with Jennifer. Like me, my wife's goal is to build her singing skills in order to audition for musical theatre. After just one lesson, Jennifer made my wife feel 1000 times more confident and excited to work on her voice. My wife and I both plan on booking more future lesson packages. I am so glad I found this place! I have been training with about 10 different voice teachers in my life, and some were quite good. But none of them have been even remotely as helpful as Jennifer Krowne! She knows and hears so much about what's going on in your voice, and she actually knows how to translate that into progress that you will hear and feel immediately as a singer! I finally learned to have a strain-free belt and a much bigger range! Another thing I appreciate is that she is giving me exercises and explanations, so that I could practice and make good progress even without her holding my hand on every step! But the lessons are far too much fun (and informative), so I keep coming back for more! I also had one lesson with another instructor at Krowne once and even though I am embarrassed that I don't remember her name, she was absolutely fantastic as well! I used to sing in choir growing up, then graduated to proper vocal lessons at NYU. However, the corporate world took hold after that, and I found myself barely able to skate by a karaoke song without a crackly flat voice. After 8 years of not singing, Jennifer at Krowne vocal polished off my vocal dirt beautifully and I feel like I'm back to myself again! Not only is she fun to work with, but she gives you more than just rinse and repeat vocal exercises. I'm the type of person who asks a lot of questions, and no matter what I lob at her, she always responds with interesting facts I was never taught from previous vocal instructors. Krowne Vocal School has been the greatest thing to ever happen to my voice. I was only able to sign up for lessons over the summer, but in that short timeframe Jennifer was able to stretch my range on both ends, helped me find more control over my volume and sound, and gave me a dramatic increase in my singing confidence. Jennifer was a true pleasure to learn from - her wide range of exercises were always given with clear purpose, and I have loved applying them inside and outside of her classroom. When I signed up I was looking to find the power in my everyday speaking voice rather than signing, especially being a teacher and feeling I was straining at times.
