We have a large doggy named Milo and he kept nipping and jumping on people. Play biting and jumping for bigger dogs is difficult because we have older parents and his jumping and nipping could hurt them. We also have a newborn baby we were worried that our doggo would be rough with him since he kept rough playing, nipping/biting, and jumping on us. HOWEVER, with Alden's support we saw a sudden and quick decrease in our doggos behaviors. To all you dog owners out there looking for good and well-rounded training THIS IS THE GUY! Each evening, after spending the day working and training Maverick, Alexx would send me pictures and/or video updates, along with explanations of the things they were working on, and also what I needed to know to continue working with Maverick after he returned home. And each night I would watch the videos and cry happy tears. I couldn't believe that was my dog! Maverick responded so well with Alexx. And after two weeks, he was ready to come home. I couldn't believe it! And I was so afraid that I was going to mess something up and that my dog would never behave for me the way he had for Alexx. But I was wrong! From the day Maverick came home I could tell he was a different dog already. I paid close attention to the things that Alexx trained ME to know. And every day I continue to work with Maverick the way that we were taught. I was never fearful of the tools that Alexx employed while training Maverick. I knew that proper use of a prong collar would not hurt Maverick. And to the contrary, Maverick responded much better to that, than to having a slip lead noose around his neck. With a slip lead Maverick with pull himself so hard he could've done damage to his esophagus. But with the prong collar, he no longer pulled on his leash. I also was never afraid of using the E collar. From day one, Alexx showed me proper use of the E collar. And he even demonstrated it to me, having me hold it in my hand to feel the vibration. I know that the E collar does not harm Maverick in any way, it's simply a gentle reminder for him to make good decisions. And it works. Since Maverick came back home, I actually rarely need to even press the button to make the E collar vibrate. However, if Maverick needs a reminder, it is a tool that has proven to be extremely useful. Maverick no longer pulls when on leash. He walks next to me and heels very well. And when we encounter other dogs and he begins to bristle, as if he were going to react, all I have to do is remind him to heel. If I see that he is starting to forget, I hit the button for the E collar control. For Maverick I have it set at 15, which is pretty low, and usually one tap is all it takes to get him back on track! Sometimes all I have to do is touch the controller and he responds without me even pushing the button! It's like it's ingrained in him already. And it works! Maverick came home, such a better dog! And since then he and I have been able to bond in a way that we weren't able to in the months prior to him going to Omega Paws. Maverick now has a better understanding of what he needs to do, and he follows directions much better. He understands when I tell him to go to his place, and he stays there. He also understands when he is supposed to be in his crate, and he goes in without a fight. I love our walks because on leash he is amazing! And he has not reacted in the same manner towards another dog since returning from Omega Paws, so I no longer have that fear of being injured when he's on leash. He is much better mannered. And I have no doubt that within the year I will be able to get him certified to become a working Therapy Dog with me! And barely a year old he's still a puppy, and he's not perfect. But he is so much better than he was, and our relationship is so much better as well! And believe me when I say that my dog is much calmer, and he does not need a treadmill! He just needed to learn boundaries, and we needed to bond! That's something that we weren't able to do with the previous training. We had such a good experience with Omega Paws, that once Maverick had come home and we saw the difference in him, we decided to have Alexx and his team train our two small dogs as well. They are both Chihuahua mixes, and or were foster fails. One is 10 years old and the other is eight years old, so they are pretty set in their ways! But we wanted to give them basically the same foundation that Maverick had so that they all had the same understanding. And while they are not quite as good as Maverick, they are definitely much improved. They definitely understand boundaries much better, and they behave better on leash! I cannot say enough about Alexx and Luis, and all of Omega Paws. I was literally on the verge of giving up, and contemplating surrendering my dog because I knew that I could not go on the way that we were. And that's a terrible feeling to have when you love a dog! Omega Paws gave me back my dog, and also self-confidence. I am so grateful to them for all they've done for my family. And I can't wait to see what my future holds with Maverick by my side! I thought I can just follow tutorials online, but none of the methods worked. I decided to get a professional and found Master Dog Training through Yelp. I read all the reviews and was impressed with how many dogs he had trained. Different breeds and ages. I texted him and he provided me all the information and we confirmed a date. I saw a promotional price for Temple City, but since I am at another city, it is a different price. I did text him a day before our appointment to remind him just in case, per our agreement. My puppy is getting the "DOG OBEDIENCE TRAINING: Commands and Problem Behaviors, pulling on leash, dumpster diving, counter surfing, mild barking, potty training, jumping, digging, chewing, nipping, not listening. NOT FOR DOGS WITH AGGRESSION or FEAR!" A total of 5 sessions, once a week, 55 minutes per sessions. This training is done at my place and indoor. By the end of his training, he learned 18 commands in 5 weeks! Please note that it also depends on your effort and if you're training your dog daily with what was taught. Mike is great with our puppy! Turns out he owns the same breed as me. From my perspective, he trained my husband, me and my puppy altogether. If you're doing something wrong, he would tell you. He is patient, always on time, and so kind to my puppy. I especially love the graduation ceremony. I was holding in my tears. Overall, we are very happy with Mike and the result.

We are very happy with Michael's approach to training. He is effective and nurturing, but firm and very patient. We prefer his style of training as it is supportive and encouraging. When discipline is needed, we have firm commands that Michael taught us. He also provides tips for helpful products like corrector spray and developmental and age appropriate toys. His "graduation" ceremonies are so fun! We had a standing weekly appointment, but Michael was flexible when things came up and responds to any calls/texts in a timely manner. Our dog was a rescue from out of the country. If you're familiar with the breed, you know they are stubborn as heck which makes it harder to train them from home. Turns out, Bailey (Border Collie mix), was much harder to train since she's never received any training all her life. She just turned 3 yrs old. Luis was able to break whatever it was hindering her from picking up or learning basic commands. Ultimately, we wanted to get her trained to know basic commands, better leash manner, and eventually complete recall. Within minutes of working with her, Luis taught her what it means to heel and sit. I call him the dog whisperer because Bailey changes her demeanor instantly when she sees him. Now that I have more time I wanted to finish Bella's training. I reached out to bark busters because Bella had a lot of anxiety and would have non stop barking issues. We have a new baby in the house so all the barking was no fun! I'm telling you, no joke after the first visit with our trainer Justine, I felt as if Bella was a whole new dog! She gives such great advice on how to properly train your dog without food incentives and shock collars! I was so amazed that I started telling a lot of my friends about it! I just finished my second session with Justine today and she was giving me tips and tricks on how to walk Bella without her pulling. By the end of the session I was walking Bella and Bella wasn't walking me! Justine truly cares for me and Bella and is very thoughtful on modifying things that help me the best! I found Dave through his wonderful Yelp reviews so I realize that my opinion is certainly in the…read moreminority. However, I still think you should know of my personal experience. After adopting a 2 year old min pin mix from the humane society, I emailed Dave to set up a training session. I explained that she was already pretty good with walking on the leash, etc. but we wanted to definitely focus on some separation anxiety issues and just general command following. He showed up on time (a big plus in my book!) but did not acknowledge our dog at all when he came in. He said "she'll have to warm up to me." A little background - we'd had our pup for two weeks and she'd never barked. She just cuddled everyone who came over. The humane society had said they too had never heard her bark so we weren't even sure that she'd hadn't been de-barked previously. Well, Dave came upstairs, without acknowledging her, and with his big booming voice talking a mile a minute and the second he reached the top of the stairs, she barked. We should have listened to her. Dave immediately launched into telling us about training and giving us seemingly random information about how to train her to do this or that. He did not ask us about her background. He did not ask us what we wanted to accomplish, he just ran full steam ahead. It was a whirlwind but my Husband and I tried to keep up. He got out treats and commanded our dog to sit, which he did get her to do, but he did not tell us why or how he was getting her to react. Next, he said we should all go on a walk. He proceeded to ignore how she was walking on the leash and spent the whole 20 minute walk telling us stories about how he tamed giant aggressive dogs. Impressive, but that's not what we have nor what we were paying for. On the walk, he told us that we needed to get down to her eye level to show her our hand signals because she couldn't see if we did them high up. Okay, fair enough. However, back at home, he was getting her to sit some more and he said "you have to stand and give the hand signals, you're not always going to bend down for her." Literally contradicting what he had just told us on the walk. He never let us practice giving her commands so he could correct what we were doing wrong and he never seemed to take any interest in listening to us about our concerns. He also kept referring to her as a "he" and while we corrected him at least four times, he kept calling her a boy. I give him two stars and not one because my Husband and I do think he knows what he's talking about. However, he's probably much better with bigger, more aggressive dogs. When he left, my Husband and I looked at each other, exhausted from the high-energy that Dave puts out (he's loud and boisterous and constantly expelling anecdotes) and said "never again" at the same time. Dave wasn't for us and my suggestion would be to pay attention to your dog and your gut like we have. In the end, she knows all kinds of tricks now and is a great learner, but she needed a different approach.

However, I wished I knew the details on his work. Pros: ~Has shown results. My dog did, amazingly, behaved nicely and David was able to correct him if he wasn't. Wish there was more of that. ~He does let you practice with your dog and corrects you so you can do it when he's not around. ~Each session is at least 2 hours, he doesn't rush his work and take his time with the lesson. ~Uses his own well behaved dogs to train people's dogs. ~Has the energy to keep up with even the most hyper of dogs. ~Isn't afraid to get bit. ~My dog loves him (but that's probably not a big perk, my dog loves everyone, I have yet to see him NOT love someone instantly). Cons (with explanations): ~He uses prong collars. I understand my dog may bite him and thus the prong collar may curb his behavior. However, I am not comfortable with having to pinch my dog into behaving. David did say it doesn't hurt - he's placed it on his own leg and pulled as hard and he can and it doesn't hurt him. I did this at home to my own leg and it actually hurts me. I wouldn't want to think about how it hurts my dog. He's very adamant on the collar and I ended up having to purchase my own. Good thing my dog loves everyone cos he still loves me and David, even when he has to wear that darn collar. ~Talks a lot. Which is both good and bad. The explanations helped at first but he became very repetitive about them. He is also very passionate about some things and will rant on and on about them. He complained about how animal shelters give out dogs with behavioral issues because they don't care. I had to bite my tongue to not point out the animal shelter's purpose is population control and rehoming dogs, not perfecting dogs to adopt out. Seems to like bragging about his worst clients and seems proud of his bite scars. ~Communication skills leaves something to desire. Granted he has a older phone model but after a few weeks break (we had other things planned), he forgot who I was/my dog was when I texted him to confirm the next class. Maybe at least save your client's number and a brief description of their needs rather than having to ask 'who is this?'? ~Pricing varied. He quoted me a cheaper price for the next visits but since we skipped a few weeks, he must have forgotten and charged me the same price as the first time. But considering each lesson was more than 2 hours long, his hourly rates are still really cheap, I'm just a little annoyed he didn't keep his word. ~No follow ups? He didn't discuss a next session and just left me in the middle of a lesson to practice on my own at home. I don't know why I decided to do a second session (probably cos I didn't want to find another trainer and pay all over again) but at least his lack of interest in ensuring my dog actually learnt something made me not go with a third session. I felt weird about posting a less than 5 star review since every other review is a glowing 5 star but seeing someone else review him less than stellar made me realize I'm not the only one out there. I agree, maybe he's not the right trainer for smaller/medium sized breeds. I'm surprised none of the other reviews mention this - the prong collars, the rants, the repetitive anecdotes. I wished I have saved my money and gone with a different trainer with different methods because he wasn't the right trainer for me. (My dog has no say in this since he loves all his trainers and even his vet.)

I have an elderly Maltipoo named Topoli aged 15 years, and they are my trusted caretakers for him while I work as a field nurse full time/5 days a week. I have rarely sent Topoli to dog boarding since he was born since I take turns with my parents. But, they're off to a long retirement vacation this year and I was left with a dilemma for the first time on what to do with Topoli. He can't hold his pee/poo for too long nowadays because of his age and he likes to eat small meals X3 a day. Keeping him locked in my new house all day would stress him out or have him barking all day disturbing my housemates. At first, I thought of placing him with my vet's office for boarding. But, I noticed they kept him caged for long periods of time. And, he would return to me very anxious and stressed. At his advanced age, I really want to reduce ang unnecessary anxiety or stress on him. On recommendation of a friend, I tried St Tropawz and I am so so grateful to Patrick and his staff of caretakers. They have been trusted caretakers for my elderly Topoli. They are patient with his quirks of eating small meals and comforting him during his bouts of anxiety looking for me.
