We've been using Heavenly for a few years now as our local sitter moved, and at the recommendation of some friends. It's a bit further out from home but all the in-town options were littered with bad reviews so we knew that we'd have to head out a little bit to get something we could trust. Our odd couple duo love it here and know the route so well they'll start whining even a mile or two out. They get loved on and have never come back with any issues. The onboarding process is extremely thorough (including the meet + greet/tour) and I'd recommend this location to anyone looking for a boarding option for their fur babies. Our extended circle (as well as the siblings of our husky) all go here as well - so if you ever catch the derp parade on the grass, those are probably ours! DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG HERE! Absolutely unacceptable experience. I picked up my dog from Heavenly Pet Resort in West Covina, and she came home covered in ticks. Not just one or two--she had ticks ALL OVER HER after staying at a facility that is supposed to provide a clean and safe environment for pets. As a pet owner, that is completely unacceptable. What made the situation even more frustrating was the initial response. Instead of immediately taking responsibility, my wife was told that our dog must have gotten the ticks after we got home. That explanation made no sense to us, especially considering the number of ticks we found almost immediately after picking her up. It felt like they were trying to shift the blame instead of taking our concerns seriously. Instead of bringing our dog home and enjoying having her back, we had to inspect her from head to toe, remove ticks, worry about tick-borne diseases, sanitize our home, and take her to the veterinarian. No pet owner should ever have to deal with that after paying a boarding facility to care for their pet. To their credit, they ultimately refunded the cost of our stay and paid for the veterinary visit, and I do appreciate that they took financial responsibility. However, a refund doesn't erase what happened or the stress and concern it caused our family. We trusted them with a member of our family, and they let us down. read more

We utilized Heavenly Pet Resort for the first time for our two year old pup, and were impressed by the facilities, amenities, and friendliness of the staff. First- as a new visitor, they require a tour of the facilities to show the different "rooms" available. I appreciated that both options had indoor/outdoor space for our pup to enjoy. We were told that each dog gets an independent 30 minutes in the open play area. I understand that there are "additional" amenities offered like pool time, grooming, or training services- we intend on fully taking advantage for our next visit. While there aren't necessarily cameras or the ability to "check-in" on your pet- I truly felt comfortable and confident in the resort's care for our furry friends. They claim to give them your blankets and our blankets and snacks were never used. My dogs came back with their bones sticking out after I paid nearly $1,000 for a two week stay. They also gave me so much trouble about vaccines because they didn't review my paperwork clearly. Like I mentioned I was scared to write this review because of how horrible they are! There is a certain amount of trust one has to have when leaving their dog with someone else. I'm pretty sure more than half the battle is calming the nerves of the owner than taking care of the pet itself. We have left our dog with Heavenly three times and if you were to ask me what my dog did and if she had a good time, I couldn't tell you. All I know is she has stayed alive every time and come back to us in one piece. The front office staff is nice and prompt with their service. Given that we have an anxious pit bull/mastiff mix that has seperation anxiety (older dog we adopted a couple years ago), the fact that they welcome her with open arms and she appears to be fine after overnight stays, we are big fans. It seems that the awards that are plastered arounf their check in room are well deserved! read more

When I moved into West Covina mid 2011, I worried I won't find a suitable pet hotel for my dogs. Then I found Heavenly Pet Resort. I went in there and request a tour, in which they gave me. It was pretty nice, and pretty much up to par to my dogs' pet hotel The Kennel Club LAX. The pricing for boarding were affordable and they also offered varieties of services (extra play time, ice cream per day, etc). I boarded my dogs about once or twice a year, whenever I had to travel and couldn't take them with me. And almost everytime, I felt safe to leave my dogs with Heavenly. I usually asked for bath on the pick up day, so I would have extra time to pick them up and they could come home clean. They did amazing with the dog bath. On August 2019, I had to board Bolu by herself. (Before I lost my other dog to cancer, they always stayed in one private room). And when I picked her up on August 7, 2019, I was given another dog. This dog ran from my arm, kept barking at me, and looked different (wasn't a Bichon). Her demeanor was not like my elderly dog. I told the staff and she said, "No that's Bolu." I told her again, that she wasn't my dog, and her tag wasn't hers. She went back to the other room, and brought out my Bolu. Maybe I should take that dog home, upgrade the old for the young (j/k). Today July 11, 2020, I picked her up again after 3 days. Now with this social distancing in effect, they put sign only one person at a time, in which I understand. I noticed the sign when I dropped my dog off July 8, 2020. So today, seeing there were two other guys picking up their dogs, I waited inside my car. I can't stand in heat too long to avoid my lupus flare. One guy went in, while the other one wAited outside. Then after the other guy was done, he went in. And when I saw that they were done, I got out my car and approaching the entrance door. The lady went out and took my card said she will charge the card and bring Bolu out. In which made me wonder why I got a different treatment than the previous two customers. I did ask if I could wait inside while she was getting my dog because I needed to cool environment. She replied yes, it was just the other staff (behind the counter) was training another dog. Overall, for about 9 years, I am happy with the service and the price this place to offer. But to feel that I'm a valuable customer, the answer is no. The treatment that I got everytime I'm dropping off my dog(s) or picking up, consistently unchanged. I don't feel I'm valued, or recognized by my name, or given update how my dog(s) was doing during the stay, or just a simple good evening how are you. Oh but when I dropped Bolu off on July 8th I did inform them that my dog's vision isn't as good anymore (14 years old Bichon), and they said they will put her in the front, closer to them. This once was a good place and can't judge the front desk and used heavenly pet resort in past for my Rotts, this time around for a pair of Belgian Mal pups with the youngest sustaining the injury. Both dogs and a cat arrived Thursday afternoon and were picked up Monday afternoon. We live 2.5 miles away from this place and noticed female pup with a baseball size lump on head, we called said bring her back in turned around and spoke to Elizabeth who seemed defensive off the bat, I'm not here to argue just need answers of how my dog was hurt, I asked if anyone saw anything she said no just rambled that she has hundred of dogs and pups are active and to put ice on it, at this point you already know your not getting anywhere talking to someone responding back to you in damage control. What this lady could've done 1) let me talk to my other staff not currently here and I'll get back to you. 2) let me check kennel dog was in just in case there is a hazard that caused injury. 3) let's check camera footage 4) don't say you have hundreds of dogs because your admitting you can't handle this amount and everyone's pet is in jeopardy. 5) follow up( your too late, not swept under carpet) Pup was taken to vet for care, was confirmed blunt, currently recovering on meds from hematoma. Pics taken and accidentally had it on video record when speaking to Elizabeth (sorry :( ). I have brought my cat here three times and I've really had a great experience here. First of all, I find it hard to find cat boarding so I am so happy they offer this. Secondly, the staff remembers my kitty so that makes me feel special. Their prices are very reasonable (I can only speak for cats) and it always smells clean. They really should limit themselves on the amount of pets they take it because when I picked up my dogs they were COVERED in urine. When I mentioned this to them they said they are doing their best with the amount of dogs they had... seems like they bit off more than they can chew. I left my dogs here for 10 days because we went out of the country. I only got 2 follows up and Only after I called in myself. When I asked them why they were covered in pee they said they couldn't control if my dogs laid in their own pee.... It would've been nice to receive a call that my dogs were doing this I would have added a bath for them both.... When you pay $1000 in boarding you expect them to return the way they were dropped off. When I dropped them off someone actually made a comment "it's cute you guys care for them like if they were full breed dogs." We've tried many different boarding facilities for our pup, but keep coming back to Heavenly Pet. The staff is nice, and we feel that our fur baby is safe and well taken care of. There are a lot of extras you can add, like Yappy Hour (group play) or extra play time, and even training, and that makes us feel better when we have to leave our pup. He stays in the French Suite, which I believe is a 5x20, which is a great size. I'm taking off one star because, compared to other facilities, I don't think Heavenly sends enough photos. Actually, they don't send you any photos, but they do post on Instagram. Our dog was recently there M-F, for 4 nights, and we added extra play and Yappy Hour every day, but only a single photo was posted on Instagram. Daily photos, especially when you are adding extra services, would make Heavenly Pet a 5 star facility. read more

I had to give 1 star but I would give a big 0. I had called a month ago looking for 1 night service at the time it was no notice so understand not available. At that same time I asked if August 13th was available. I was told just call a week before you will be fine. Called today and once I said 1 night long hold to come online and said at this time no pets for 1 night. Seriously get your stories together. If you want no New clients then just say that. My family and I had to leave out of town for Labor Day weekend and Heavenly Pet Resort was highly recommended. The facilities were clean, the staff friendly and the pets happy. I was really blown away during the tour but also very nervous leaving my puppy since it would be her first time being boarded. I didn't have to worry about her! The staff were amazing with her, playing with her and I would call and check on her and my puppy was doing really good! So good the staff didn't want her to leave.
