They seated me pretty quickly in the chair, then sat in that chair for 40 minutes waiting for the dentist. He finally arrives, asks when my last cleaning was, told him it was a year ago, then he says let's see how bad your gums are. I know they aren't bad since I brush and floss twice a day. The dentist was very rough, more than my regular dentist. He tells me I have two cavities and he can take care of them today. I'm waiting for the receptionist to come to the room to give me pricing and before she does, the dentist comes back into the room, asking if I want my cavities filled today. I told him I haven't gotten pricing yet then he just leaves. The receptionist comes in with pricing. I said ok I don't wanna do this today. I want to schedule it for a later date. She says ok just sign here on the paper. I told her I'm not signing anything and she said she just needs its signed to enter into their system. They wanted me to reschedule. I didn't reschedule. None of the staff was rude. That is why I chose to go there. I am upset that they didn't message me to tell me they didn't have time. I don't have a car, so I have to walk everywhere and they are close to my home. My mouth still hurts. So I have to find someone else who has time to see me. I booked the appointment online, so I don't understand what the deal was, as to why they didn't have time? Overall, the staff was nice. I do recommend they get some help with time management, so noone else experiences this. Now I have to find another dentist, so I won't be wasting mine or their time. I never even seen the dentist. I went because I am trans and having FMS (facial masculinization surgery) and my surgeon wanted me to consult with an orthodontist. I needed to see how the different options for FMS would impact having braces/Invisalign in the future, how braces/Invisalign might continue to change my jaw after surgery, and based on that, what surgical options would be best. Dr. Allen was really informative, he took the time to go through all of the possible options and answer all of my questions. It was clear that he is well informed on facial surgery, even when it doesn't directly relate to dentistry. He was really friendly and acted like they were all completely normal questions. I was definitely nervous to have an appointment about this and he made it a completely comfortable experience. Additionally, I've had other unrelated orthodontic consults in the past with other providers. Grand dental was the most thorough.

Its night and day difference in service! Not only does Dr. John and his team welcome questions they take the time no matter how long, even if it set them behind with other appointments, to answer any questions and concerns, and they really went above and beyond finishing off my daughters treatment, leaving her with an absolutely stunning smile. I have to say she was quite scared and timid, going to any doctor after our past experience. But Dr. John is just so good with kids gets on their level super friendly, very reassuring, answered any of her questions even during adjustments was very kind and gentle to her. Unlike the other orthodontist, who burned her nose, chipped her tooth, scratched her and yelled at her for breaking brackets, etc. Dr. John and his team are so friendly and definitely go the extra mile. We love the experience so much here at Prairie view. They have many locations in the area with super flexible scheduling, other orthodontist offices, actually charge more if you need an after school appointment versus during the day... Prairie view does not do that to schedule appointments around your schedule for no added cost!the team is so friendly and customer oriented- its really been a night and day experience! She has a very small mouth and our regular dentist was not up for the challenge. Dr. Collins is amazing. He made my daughter extremely comfortable right from the start. He was thorough in explaining everything to me and also keeping my daughter involved. I like that he spoke to her and asked her questions about how to make her comfortable. She felt like she was a part of the discussion and involved in her own healthcare choices. That is wonderful! Most DR's just talk to the parents and disregard that their patient is actually the child. He made suggestions about anesthesia while taking into consideration her other medical issues. We decided to go with a twilight sedation. The procedure was over in no time. The follow up appt. went smooth as well. The Dr's assistant is so nice and friendly. I wish all my daughter's nurses and assistants were just like her. She is in the right field. She has the personality to be dealing with people and their health. I take one star away just because the receptionist staff leave a little more to be desired. With the exception of the blonde (sorry didn't catch her name), the rest of the people in the front that you deal with seem to be bothered by having to do anything for you or answer your questions.
