DO NOT GO HERE! Dentist Charlie Malzenski is a liar. He did aggressive work on me damaging a nerve. I was in pain for 6 months until i finally had to pay somewhere else for a root canal. He lied and told me I had 4 more cavities which i confirmed to be untrue! He unlawfully let his dental assistant cement my crowns in. Now he wont help me. Now im going to have to pay to replace the crowns! read more

I went here twice, first time it was a fine experience. Second time, I was told I had 4 cavities and needed to have them filled in the next visit. Which from the first visit nothing of this was discussed like those certain teeth would need to be watched closely. I've never had a cavity in my life which is not to say I will never get one but something about this didn't sit right with me. When my next 6 months rolled around I scheduled elsewhere and had a new dentist perform the basic exam and said my teeth and gums looked great.. and I even asked if I had any issues or cavities. The desk assistant was unhelpful when I spoke to her about a service, she said she would check with the doctor and get back to me. I never heard from her, and when I arrived at my appointment, they tried to charge me almost $500 in service charges and not to mention they don't even do a thorough cleaning on your teeth your pretty much just paying for a X-ray and a floss . I spoke with management about how I felt about the miscommunication with her desk assistant she then said I should call my insurance company myself to find out how much I would have to pay out of pocket the next time I choose to get a service , as if the desk assistant weren't being paid for doing something that is part of their job but with that being said DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!! Had my teeth professionally whitened here for the first time. I not an established patient here, but thought I would give Smiles of Aurora a try. Lady took my back, never introduced herself (I don't know if she was a dentist, hygienist, heck she could have been anyone!). Right out of the gate I was nervous because I didn't even know who was doing this procedure. She attempted to explain what was going to happen. I had researched a little into what this procedure entailed and assumed that they would place a plastic spacer of some sort in my mouth and around my lips in order to separate my lips from my teeth, like a cheek retractor. Instead my mouth was filled with Cotton balls/logs in attempt to create a space for my lips to not touch my teeth. To which this lady (I wish I could address her name or her title properly) had multiple times needed to adjust throughout the procedure because my lips kept coming out of place or the Cotton kept moving. She explained some sort of protectant was placed on my gums, which I know about from my research. And then the bleach or whatever they used (again, no idea what was used), but was then applied. She warned me that it might burn my gums- and yes it did. Not sure if that is actually normal? Sat there for 20 mins. The bleach was removed then reapplied and then another 20 mins goes by. Everything was removed and I was shown the mirror. I honestly think I was expecting a huge difference and I was a little dissapointed in my results. I understand that it takes a couple times/and/or not everyone can get the results they want. But I'm not so convinced on the whole process I went through, and think it could have been a lot better in my honest opinion. On my bottom teeth there is an area where you can see the protecant gel that came up on the tooth, so the bleach never got on the tooth so it looks like half and half on the tooth- like the protectant gel was placed too high up on the tooth and not on the gum line. Again, I understand I wasn't looking for a Hollywood smile, but I was expecting when I look in the mirror to look different or have a family member notice for $399.00. Bottom line, I felt uncomfortable not knowing who was doing this procedure, felt a little sloppy in my opinion, and as a result, I don't think I like the results. If you're looking for a place to do teeth whitening, I would suggest continue to look. I would not be returning.! read more

Awesome and friendly service! I had gone to a different dentist two days prior and had a terrible experience. That consisted of the doctor putting three fingers in my mouth then yelling out numbers to his and then leaving the room. But smiles of Aurora was truly caring and compassionate and all around wonderful service. My doctor asked me about my discomfort and how I was feeling. I have never not felt the needle going to the dentist before and I can truly say I did not feel the needle and the whole experience was painless, pleasant and team was efficient. First time getting cavities filled and the process was painless. How they conduct the process leaves your teeth looking just about as similar as before the process; no fillings visible, and nothing feeling too different. Definitely turned out far better than I anticipated. The hygienist and dentist are conversational and hospitable. Happy to drive the extra 30 minutes for this service! read more

love all the changes (staff, decor, attitudes) Dr Goetz has made to this office since buying it! The front desk staff is upbeat, accomadating and friendly. The wait time is virtually nonexistent and the staff keeps you informed if a patient's procedure is taking longer than anticipated. The new paint and colors are clean and relaxing. Looking forward to the new aquarium(hint, hint!:~) The new hygienists are wonderful, professional and passionate about their jobs. Dr. Goetz is amazingly talented (spoken not only from my experience in the chair, but talk I have heard from several other dental specialists), cares deeply about his patients and making their new smiles affordable. If I were you I would not listen to any bad reviews about Dr. Goetz and the office/Smiles of Aurora. I have been coming to this dentist since I was 5 years old and I am going to be 22 in a few months. Dr. Montminy was amazing and having Dr. Goetz take his place is just as amazing! I have some high anxiety about going to the dentist - I will get heart palpitations, really cold hands, shaky kind of anxiety. Dr. Goetz and his team have really changed this experience for me. The last few times I have went, they were nothing but accommodating and kind to me. My cleaning went so well and so comfortable that I felt comfortable coming back for some fillings. During the filling I usually will get Nitrous. I am so nervous during fillings I can't even believe I get like that. But, everyone is so understanding and patient with me. The assistants during the filling make me feel so much more comfortable and Dr. Goetz is always very gentle. I have never been able to say that coming to the dentist now has been easier more than ever before in my life. read more

If i could give negative stars i would. The changes are awful. They suck with billing and scheduling. They don't answer the phone. They have overcharged my account and also rescheduled appointments without asking me. I've had 2 cleanings since the changes and both have the worst i've ever had. I needed to go home and do my own intense cleaning. The dr is a nice guy but he doesn't seem genuine. It's also very clear that the dr is messing around with his staff. Just gross and unprofessional. I will be finding a new place to go. read more
