Had the absolute best experience with their DJ, Micah, for my wedding. He and his wife, Crystal, went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that my husband and I, not to mention our immediate family, were always well taken care of. He even tracked down our waiter during lunch when he saw that we needed refills! We've had countless guests tell us how much fun they had and that the music was fantastic. Kyle is the BEST! He was unbelievably professional from the consultation all the way through the big day. He listened to every request we had and even made them way better! Boy, did we luck out. Our wedding was in October and we had procrastinated until August to start looking for a DJ. After a quick scan on Yelp and a few other sites, my wife quickly determined that KSDJ had excellent reviews and reliability ratings, so we contacted them. While Kyle himself was already booked the day of our wedding, Richard was available so we met him, liked him immediately, and hired him on the spot. We could not be happier with the outcome. Richard helped us with just about every aspect of the wedding, wrapping up many loose ends while being professional and fun throughout. His focus on us and what we wanted from our event was always foremost in his efforts, ensuring a successful outcome. He was highly organized and provided ideas, timelines, suggestions on photos, and always open for us to ramble on about our music selections. Kyle.... Hmm, where do I start? From start to finish, he focused on all of the little details, that set him and other DJ's and vendors apart. Initially, when we met him we knew right then and there that he was the DJ for us. He was very "in tune" (no pun intended) with what our vision was and was eager to please and honor our wishes. One thing he did that really blew us away was play a song that we requested by an artist we found on youtube, how he got the song is beyond us. Successful Samoan Wedding (Skirball Cultural Center, Los Angeles) First off let me say that I have been to a wedding where the DJ was horrible. It totally kills the whole mood and can ruin a wedding. In my opinion guests at a wedding really only remember two things. 1. Was there an open bar? and 2. How was the DJ/Music. Before Hiring Kyle to DJ/Emcee our wedding I had already met with 2 other DJ/Emcees. (This was the same process for all of our other vendors.) The only reason I met with Kyle is because my (now) wife had already set up a meeting. Kyle was very easy to talk to and made me and my wife feel comfortable. He was fair and worked with our needs and budget. The other 2 DJ's that I interviewed were both recommended to me by co-workers and they seemed very professional as well. As I walked up to meet Kyle he commented/joked about the 49ers hat I was wearing. (This shows his personality and his ability to think on his feet in a wedding situation.) He seemed very organized and very well spoken. I ended up decommitting from the other DJ (Which I don't believe in doing and didn't do with any other vendor) and hired Kyle. This ended up being a great decision. I realized this during the entrance into our reception. It felt like I was entering a packed football stadium because he had our guest pumped up. It set the tone for the rest of the night. During the reception there were times were we the dancing stopped due to traditional samoan customs. Kyle showed his ability to get people back out onto the dance floor right away. He made all of this possible even though we gave him all of our info (Wedding Party names/All required Songs) to him the night before instead of the required 2 weeks. I was engaged for 16 months (too long). When I got engaged, my first 2 concerns were a good dj and good food. If the food sucks, everyone remembers, and if you have a bad dj, the mood of the whole thing is off. Let me tell you, Kyle was AMAZING. Met Kyle at a local Starbucks near our house for a consultation. I had talked to him on the phone and sent emails back and forth with him prior to the meeting. He was very friendly and we could tell he would give us what we were looking for in a Dj. We booked Dj services, up lighting, and name in lights from him. Prices were very reasonable. My then fiancé and I were very particular about certain songs we wanted played at our wedding and he played all the songs we requested. He emailed us an info sheet with details which we filled out and sent back to him a month before the wedding. Super easy process and one less thing to worry about when it comes to the wedding. Day of wedding, initially up lights were wrong color and name in lights were on the floor instead of the wall. I told one of the bridesmaids and she talked to him and he fixed it immediately. The wedding coordinator set up the wrong background lights initially so he thought we changed the lighting color. Coordinators mistake not Kyle's. We had a change in timeline later and Kyle handled everything accordingly. My guests loved the music and were dancing until midnight! Micah was AMAZING!!!!! From our first planning meeting to saying good-bye after our wedding Micah was kind, generous, and attentive. While looking for DJ's I found some that were not LGBTQ friendly, as a queer couple with lots of LGBTQ friends and family, it was imperative that our DJ was aware of our needs (like not saying bride and groom, which I have heard a countless gay weddings), and played the right music. Our wedding was also a mix of our cultural backgrounds, Italian and Persian Armenian, Micah played the perfect Italian music during dinner and the best Persian dance music later in the evening. I forgot to send Micah the Armenian wedding music my partner wanted, but it was downloaded quickly during the reception and we were able to dance to traditional Armenian wedding music, making all the aunts happy. Micah even handled a little crisis perfectly. A fuse blew during dancing, cutting the music, it was fixed in no time. After the cake we were back to dancing like nothing ever happened. Micah told our guests and was calm and cool the whole time. Our wedding was the most magical night of my life and I know Micah and the amazing music he played was a large part of that. Richard Noblett pretty much saved our wedding day!! We had booked a different DJ in OC who ended up not having the right insurance for our venue and never sent us a contract. 2 weeks before the wedding, I contacted KSDJ, and while Kyle was unavailable, Richard luckily had an opening on our wedding date; oh, and at a $200 savings even with losing our other DJ's deposit. Even at our first meeting, Richard was organized, timely, and offered good insight into our wedding timeline. I'd say if you're on the fence about hiring a wedding coordinator, maybe skip it, and Richard might even be able to help you figure out the flow of the wedding day. He sent us a contract right away, and responded to my emails in a timely manner. I think the biggest bonus is that he's BRITISH. It made our wedding slightly different from everyone else's since he was also the MC. The wedding day was so much fun; the music was great, and at 11pm, when it ended, I think people (like me) even wanted to keep dancing cuz it was so fun. Micah with KSDJ recently did our wedding at the Newland Barn in Huntington Beach and I cannot say enough great things about him! The night went perfect. Kyle was so much more than just a DJ! From the start he was very professional and friendly, we had to bring our son to our first meeting and he was already ready with a movie to keep him entertained while we worked out details for our wedding. After meeting with KSDJ at a bridal show in Long Beach, we were immediately impressed with what they offered and hired them on the spot. This decision turned out to be the best one decision we made that day. We were paired with Richard the DJ whom we hit it off right away. We wanted our backyard wedding to be a nice intimate setting with a low key music selection, not over the top dance music. Richard took that information and built the playlist of the century. Being in the movie industry I had several requests for specific music and even specific times and versions of music to be played during the ceremony and after only a few meetings Richard nailed it. All the songs were played at the perfect time and the perfect sections of the song making our ceremony magical. Right down to the brides entrance that was 3 songs edited together to make a special version of Disney's Electric Light Parade. During the reception Richard was impeccable as an emcee, keeping everything on our requesting time schedule and being very respectable in what he said over the microphone. At the end of the wedding and the reception we received rave reviews about the playlist during dinner which was perfect for 70 people gathering to have a nice romantic and enjoyable dinner. Our wedding was at the end of October and we are still getting notes from people that say we had the best wedding of the year. No one had a bad time and DJ Richard and KSDJ were largely responsible for this. My husband and I got married at Mount Palomar Winery on August 22 and Richard (DJUK) was our DJ and he was phenomenal! We originally had another DJ who not only wanted us to come up with every little song including (transition music, down time, etc) but also wanted us to bring all of the songs to him on a CD??? When we began to question this he said maybe we should get another DJ. Needless to say two months before our wedding we needed to find another DJ. Luckily our wedding was on a Friday and a friend recommended Kyle and he was available. Our phone conversation was very relaxed and comforting. Our first meeting with him was amazing. He had asked for the list of songs we had come up with so far and by the time we met with him (the very next day after I called him) he had gotten every song and had suggestions for us based on our interests; all before we had even hired him! His demeanor is amazing to work with. It was very clear from the start that he had much experience with weddings and ran through the whole night with us, discussing things we hadn't even thought of. He was on time, energetic, and always behind the scenes helping out. He is very good at reading the crowd and deciding what type of energy would be appropriate. He got our family and friends up and moving around, had an excellent attitude, and was very professional. Kyle was a lifesaver at our wedding. We also had a very positive experience with him up to that point. He was easy to get a hold of, and very patient with our requests (and many last minute changes to requests) before the big day. We had a large interracial wedding with 400 guests, which is no easy to for a DJ, but Kyle handled things very well. As expected, not everything went perfectly as the bride had a dress malfunction that unfortunately ate some time. I was so grateful that Kyle was able to handle this very calmly, and worked with us to re-figure the timing of our events for the night. He diffused what could have been a very stressful situation. He even handled some issues with our photographers/videographers. There is always one factor going into a big event that you have very little control over, the music. In the case of our wedding we put a lot of trust into Kyle, and lets just say it could not have gone better. Kyle was focused on my wife and I from the beginning of the night reading our reactions and those of our guests with each song. He kept the wedding up beat the entire time and had our guests begging for more when the night was over. Kyle would go out of his way to ensure that every minute of the night was perfect. In fact, he would run over to me at the bar, seconds before he transitioned to a slow song to ensure that I would be there to dance with my wife. Kyle's choice of music and transitions were flawless. He kept the cliché songs like Cotton Eye Joe and others out of his playlist, but still had every guest dancing all night long. I would highly suggest that anyone use Kyle for any event. Kyle was great. Very nice and helpful. He made sure to give us all the info we needed beforehand and talked us through the whole process. During the wedding, he really took care of us. He made it so we didn't need to worry about anything. He made sure to communicate with the photographer and the venue staff so that everyone was on the same page. It really allowed us to enjoy the wedding. He checked in with us now and again to make sure we were doing alright and to see if we wanted to adjust the order or timing of anything. He even got us drinks from the bar during dinner so we didn't have to leave our table! He told us he would take as much or as little attention as we wanted him too. We didn't want the DJ to be too crazy so he played it straight and let us be the stars of the wedding. He kept our guest s informed on what was going on but wasn't cheesy or annoying.
