I've sat on this review for 7 months. I really didn't want to write it. We got a Black Friday deal in 2017 for our July 2018 wedding that was supposed to include DJ/MC, photo booth, up lighting, cake light, and GOBO. We added ceremony services as well. And then, our DJ went dark. We finally got in touch with Richard in late February and he told us they were busy with other family business ventures, apologizing for the delay. ....ok..... On Feb. 26, I reached out to start settling details for the GOBO and photo booth templates. On 4/16 we emailed our final decisions for both. We reached out on 6/3 to set up a time to meet and discuss details. That meeting (6/5) was cancelled the day of because Richard had pink eye. We attempted to reschedule that day and got no response. I reached out again on 6/7 and got a response on 6/8 saying he had lost all contacts and texts from his phone. ....ok... We finally met on 6/11. I confirmed with Richard all the songs (I provided a CD with the versions I wanted), as well as a day-of schedule. We confirmed AGAIN the photo booth and GOBO logos we chose. On 7/12 (mind you, the wedding is 7/22), I called and left a voicemail concerned that I had yet to receive a proof for the GOBO or photo booth logo. I got a text back saying they should be ready by the end of the day. Telling me again that he's been "busy with family issues." On 7/15 we confirmed AGAIN the GOBO logo, font, AND correct spelling of my name. On 7/20. TWO DAYS prior to my wedding, at 8:49 PM, I *finally*get the proof. And my name is spelled wrong. Now, *SURPRISE, SURPRISE* it's too late to get it corrected. I'm very angry, but I don't have time for anger. I'm texting Richard at our REHEARSAL DINNER with family as he asks for a decision of a refund of $100 or an extra hour of photo booth time to make up for it. On 7/21, we just agree to have an extra hour of photo booth time. On the day of the ceremony, 7/22, I notice that the song that's supposed to be played during our unity ceremony is not being played at all. *sigh* The photo booth is supposed to take place during cocktail hour as my husband and I are taking our pictures. Per our site coordinator, my day of coordinator, and several guests (including my parents), there was no notification or announcement that the photo booth was available for people to use. Therefore, we have maybe 20 pictures of people using the photo booth. The actual music during the reception. was great. But there were too many holes between the services we paid for and what we received. Of all the vendors we used, I recommended the same photographer, seamstress, and florist to several individuals I knew who were getting married soon. Two are using the same photographer, and a cousin who is getting married next weekend has opted for EVERY vendor I recommended. I could not, and will not, recommend Dance All Night DJ to anyone else. I felt stuck because we paid up front in November and could not afford to lose that money and find another DJ. I don't have a nice way to say this... I don't care about your other business ventures. Although unfortunate, the "family issues" plagued us and made coordination next to impossible. read more

We hired Dance All Night DJ & Lighting because we had an instant connection with Richard. However, due to an unforeseen family emergency he was unable to work our wedding. But, he made sure to communicate with us and let us what was going on. He sent us one of his other DJs to work our wedding. DJ Rene Lopez did a great job playing at our wedding. He followed our wedding list songs requested and was able to read the crowd. The dance floor was never empty. He did an awesome job being the MC and keeping us on track with our bridal party entrance, first dance, father daughter dance, and all the other events of the night. Richard let us have extra lightning to compensate us for not being able to play at our wedding himself. The lighting was amazing it gave our venue an extra touch of magic. My husband and I were very happy with the services provided by Richard for our May 5 wedding. He was helpful and professional throughout the process, and helped me pull off a special surprise for my groom (a rap I wrote to my favorite song). He also provided full room draping which completely transformed our venue and was beautiful, especially with the uplighting he provided. There were a couple of hiccups and the reason we took off a star on the rating. We were disappointed that it wasn't until half way through our cocktail hour until our music started playing. We know the reason was because he was switching his setup from providing ceremony audio to cocktail and reception setup but I just wish it could have been more seamless and quicker so our guests weren't without music for 30 minutes. Also, his computer froze during our reception and luckily our bartender quickly put her phone on Pandora for a few minutes to save the day until he could get his computer back up and running. We also couldn't get our photo slideshow to play, which was disappointing, although we know this was something extra he was helping us with but wasn't contracted to do. Overall, we had a great time. But we truly lucked out with Richard Saenz/Dance All Night DJ. My husband and I were planning in Miami for our wedding in Palm Springs, we chose a lot of vendors through word of mouth and online recommendations. We chose Richard because of all the 5 star rating we saw on review sites. But these 5 stars is not enough to encompass all the things that make Richard and his team special. He is super responsive, professional and an amazing guy to talk to. Richard was open to our suggestions without hesitation and we loved bouncing off new ideas with him. He would respond to our texts and get back to us immediately. I even texted him while he was vacationing in Dominican Republic and he got back to me that day! We met up with Richard the day before the wedding. He drove all the way to Palm Springs to get the lighting ready and go over the timeline of events of the ceremony. It really gave us peace of mind for the day to enjoy our wedding. Richard uses an online portal to submit your song requests, ceremony timeline, wedding party information, special requests. I loved that we could request hundreds of songs (and request "don't play" songs). The uplighting and string lights that Richard provided were amazing. We had options to go with other vendors, but they significantly were 4-5 times more expensive. Richard got was a great deal and provided us with lighting that was unforgettable. Everyone loved the Photo Booth with all the fun props and unlimited photos we took. I loved the option to get all the digital AND physical copies of the photos! I wanted to so badly to like this company and because of that I thought seriously about not writing a review at all however the experience I had with Dance all night dj really upset me and I'm hoping that this review may help others if not the company going forward. In May of 2016 my fiancé & I decided to start looking for vendors for our October wedding so like most people we headed to yelp to look at companies with a 4+ Star rating. We came across Dance all night DJ's & the reviews Richard had on the page drew me in, I set up a meeting with him & he was AWESOME! He explained everything their company offered, he was nice and it was very clear he knew what he was doing. I was able to explain to him what all I wanted from a Dj on our big day & after our meeting I was confident that he was the guy for the job. We hired him on the spot! On September 13th, just a month before our wedding day we received a text from Rich that stated due to an on job injury he was no longer able to do our event however he had a back up for us to use if we wished. I was extremely nervous about this news but rather than being upset I sent an understanding text back hoping he was recovering well & since we were only a month away from our wedding I would be using his back up. He assumed me that his back up would be great.... so we met with Jason, he was kind & we again expressed what we wished for in a Dj. Our biggest request was that we not only get someone who can play music but we wanted someone who could get the crowd up & dancing. On the day of our wedding Jason arrived on time & played music from our requested song list, however other than our introductions he was not on the mic, he did not get the crowd up & dancing at all. In addition he forgot to play a song for our money dance & he played songs from artists on our do not play list. The Dj is the one who makes the reception & ours did not do so. My wedding was wonderful, it was a special day & I didn't want to write a negative review so I decided to let it go however a month after our wedding day I saw on instagram that Dance all night had posted a review from a customer stating the Richard had Dj'd their wedding just the week after ours! According to the text I received from rich he was to be out of work for several months following his injury. My husband reached out to Richard to let him know how upset we were to hear this news & he assured us that it was not him that DJ'd that event, that he had lied to the other customer about it being him. That a different dj at his company used his name to get the gig? He stated he was sorry to hear how upset I was about our wedding day & to make up for it offered us a partial refund of what we had put out. We accepted the apology & sent him our mailing address. It has been a few months now & we haven't heard a word back or our refund from this company. It appears that may have also been a lie, i'm not sure what all was true from this company & what was made up. I wanted to take a few minutes to talk about the owner of Dance All Night DJ and Event Lighting, Richard. We met with Richard and contracted with him to be the emcee for our wedding reception. We both instantly liked his character/personality which was upbeat and incredibly confident. With more than ten years of experience, this was obviously not his first time around the block and he threw out a bunch of great ideas and reassured us that the event would be perfect. We met with Richard several times over the course of several moths. Each time with more, never-ending questions and things that we thought we wanted to add to make our event special. He met each challenge head-on and always continued to tell us that the event was going to be amazing. Richard gives you a username and password to login to his website and you can then build your entire timeline through a very user-friendly application. You can then get as specific as picking the individual songs or as general as providing types of various genres. Either way, his website is a wonderful way to work out your timeline and organize your event. On the day of the event Richard showed up several hours early, set up the agreed upon up-lights, the personalized laser monogram and his DJ booth. Richard kept really good control of the five hour event. He certainly knew the importance of his position. He was fun to listen to over his PA, he kept the attendees moving and motivated, he facilitated the tables for the buffet and kept a great mix of music flowing (we gave him "key" songs for certain portions of the event and then gave him the reins for whatever he thought was best). His mixing was spot-on. All of this was super-important because we had two hours of dance floor for the dancers in our group. Our folks were on the dance floor on-and-off for the entire time because of his selections of music that kept people moving and wanting to dance! I can't say enough great things about Richard. He was very receptive to our needs and had a real professional edge while, at the same time, making it fun and kept us excited about our event. Let me start by saying that Richard offered us a great discount, then piled another couple on top of that. He sounded so accommodating and customer oriented when I first spoke with him, so once he offered the third discount we were in. The wedding was just a couple months away and all our communication was by phone, email or text, all of which at first were quickly responded to. Once the payment was received it was a different story though. In fairness, I must point out that our wedding was a daytime wedding on June 9th - wedding and prom season. At one point very close to the wedding I ended up with a response from a woman...not quite sure who she was (another DJ? business manager?)... assuring me that I would not be charged for the DJ to be at the venue ready to play about 15 minutes earlier than originally agreed. Oh, yeah; we never got a written contract stating defined terms of the agreement either. The Week Of the wedding I received an email with an attachment to some forms where we could make our music choices and provide our timeline, etc. A couple of these were easy and fast to fill out. The music list on the other hand...This was also part of what I had been asking about several times, and by various methods before this email was received. One of the forms was for songs that we wanted played for specific parts of the reception like intros, cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc. Could have used a way to select two songs for some of the reception moments, but there was the notes section where we could specify in more detail. The form where we chose the must have songs, would like to hear songs, and the Do Not play songs was nice because it gave an estimate of how many hours worth of music was listed in each section. I had more than four hours worth in the must haves and the would like to hear sections, including slow songs that were chosen specifically for other couples to dance to (their song or it was their first dance at their wedding, it was playing when they met, whatever). I asked for some classical music to be played during the meal, but all the slow songs we had chosen were played. I wanted to dance with my new husband to a couple of them, and my dad just got up in the middle of his meal and danced with my mom when one of theirs played. Further into the reception he started going off list. This would have been ok, but he started playing songs about breaking up or cheating, and one song I even hate. (Can't remember if I remembered to put it on the list of Do Not play.) Who plays those kinds of songs at a wedding reception?! Do you really need to be told not play songs about breaking up or cheating? I also had some 50's songs from the Coasters that I really wanted played for the kids to dance and have fun with, but he only played one of them. I didn't mind the music being loud enough to hear during the meal, but it was so loud the entire afternoon we could hardly hear each other talking. The room was not that big and had good acoustics: He said he'd played there before and knew the acoustics. Granted, I did not ask him to turn it down a notch, but when you see people yelling at each other or holding their ears...normally it would get turned down. Most of our guests that commented on the DJ liked him, but there were a few that agreed with us as to volume and why he went off list, especially since our list was chosen specifically for our mix of guests. Near the end of the afternoon he received a request for disco, which was on our list of no-no music, and he asked before going ahead with it which we did appreciate. He was very genial though, and asked for proper name pronunciation before doing the intros. He did have a kinda tough room too (my hubby's side were mostly wall flowers that day). So, after writing this I'm actually going to add a star because it was a tough day all around for the vendors, the wedding party, family and the bride and groom, plus we never had a F2F sit-down either. read more

Our wedding was such a hit!!!!our DJ Henry had everyone dancing the whole night and coordinated the timing with our live entertainment which was great!!!! Richard was amazing to work with. He checked out the venue before hand to see how to best arrange the up lighting. I was having problems with the generator I had rented for my DJ to use from another vendor and Richard was kind enough to let the DJ system be hooked up to his generators. He was easy to get a hold of throughout the wedding planning process and was always available to answer my million requests and questions as the bride. Richard was so amazing for our October wedding. I cannot even express how much fun everyone at our reception had due to his services. Richard provided uplighting, gobo monogram & the photobooth for our reception & even though we didn't use him for our ceremony (we had a violinist) he still provided amplification and a mic for my husband so our vows could be heard clearly for our videographer. We were so hesitant to choose a DJ because music was a big deal to us, making sure people were having fun and the music was danceable was very important to us. When you're planning a wedding you want everything to be perfect ... absolutely perfect, you want to deal with vendors that are easy to deal with, that are honest and true to their word. When you call they answer their phone, when you text or email them they respond to you quickly and that is exactly what I got dealing with Richard and his company.. I had by far the best experience dealing with him and his staff. From the moment that I came in and signed the contract to the very last song that was played at our wedding every single moment was excellent! When I had to change up our contract and add lighting because our venue forgot to tell me that wasn't included I called Richard right away .. he was willing to go to the venue to take a look around and provide me different lighting options. Most importantly he didn't try to upsell me he worked with my budget and in the end I was 100% satisfied with what I was given. The day of my wedding my event coordinator was M.I.A and a lot of things began to get behind schedule . Henry was are DJ and he was AMAZING!!!! he kept everything flowing where nobody could tell that we were behind or could see the background chaos that I was dealing with. All night the dance floor was packed, all of our guest LOVED the music.. I danced every single song that was played!! I truly appreciated that Henry came prepared, from all of the songs that we had selected, are do's and don'ts were well organized on paperwork that he had brought. There was even a song that had been requested that was on my do not play list ,Henry made sure to let them know that the bride has requested that song to not be played and it didn't. I was really surprised and appreciated that my requests were respected even when it was the mother of the bride requesting the song. Okay, so when my wife and I were searching for DJ's at first we wanted to take the cheap route, I mean, who doesn't know a back yard DJ? Luckily our friends that have already been married. Shared their nightmare stories and advised us that "The DJ sets the tone of your wedding". Truer words have never been spoken! Here is why you go with a professional like Richard (owner) and not just any DJ. First off he provided up lighting to give the most romantic feel to the venue, he also provided the monogram of our names and the photo booth which was a big hit at our wedding. The dance floor was never empty. Also, he has 7 DJ's so should something unexpected happen, you won't be left without a DJ. Music to me is one of the most important elements to having a great wedding and I was not disappointed. Henry was the DJ at my wedding this past Saturday at the Mission Inn and he did an AMAZING job. Richard totally came through for our anniversary party! He was there to answer ALL of my many questions and ease any anxieties I had about our event. He even produced a fantastic slide show for us and threw in some extra ambience lighting! DJ Renee was also wonderful! The huge screen, where he played our slide show and music videos, was a BIG hit with all of our guests, and he had a good feel for the types of songs that kept the party and dance floor hopping!
