When we met with Dj MJ he was very helpful by explaining his services, his contract, and was willing to answer any questions. The waltz, which was the highlight of the night, was cut short because the waltz song was abruptly cut short--to this day I'm not sure why. There wasn't much of the "up-lighting" since the pink and purple lighting we asked for was very faint; it did not look like the pictures included on Yelp or in Instagram. Our quinceanera's gobo name projection on the wall wad barely visible. We asked for two sparklers, but Jorge (DJ) only brought one--unfortunately it was not specified on the contract but It does state "sparklers", not sparkler. I know we did speak about having two of them, but didn't pay attention that it was not on the contract (my fault). The slideshow was only playing sometimes and not consistently. The MC'ing could've been much better. The DJs voice was too low, the order of events was not properly done and a madrina kept being overlooked in the introductions. The music was amazing--I do have to say. The DJ did bring balloons which for some reason really worked out. Overall, our event turned out really great because of all the guests that were there and I do not want to minimize the fact that, again, the music was regreat and and guests had a lot of fun. read more

I met Jorge in the summer of 2017. He was highly recommended by a family member for my daughter's quinceañera. When we first met him I didn't know what to expect but was extremely impressed with his portfolio. When I attend an event or party, the music is the most important as it sets the mood and uplifts the environment. It's what gets my drinking started (: My girls and I hosted a car event and I was asking friends if they knew a great DJ. Two different friends recommended Dee Jay MJ. located in the El Monte area. I hit him up and right away he provided a link to his previous mixes. I enjoyed the mix and asked him to come DJ for us. He arrived to the event and set up within 20-30 mins. I told him I wanted old school hip-hop but also told him to just feel for the crowd and play whatever he thinks amuses them. We had about 150 cars arrive plus spectators. Having that big crowd is difficult to satisfy everyone's taste in music however, he managed to do so. He smoothly transitioned from genre to genre but mainly stood in the old/new school genre as he probably noticed the crowds response to "ain't no fun" by snoop dog. Anyway. I highly recommend him. We recently had my god daughters baptism and we needed a DJ so my co worker recommended him. First I have to tell you, my family rarely ever gets up to dance, but when he came set up and started playing his music everyone got up and started dancing we danced all night long.
