Just to make an appointment, it takes over an hour. Barbara is awesome but outside of that, no one cares! And I mean no one. They think it's normal to treat clients poorly. This is why artificial intelligence is taking over; because efficiency and customer care is a thing of the past. Why not work with robots when these humans have no empathy. You have to go through the Philippines just to get to an office in the US that has no regard for your time or ailment(s). While Doctor George is a great doctor, the office is run horribly. I have had numerous procedures performed by Dr. George but would have had to wait 2 months to see him after having a new injury. Phones are answered by people overseas and a new patient will be seen before an existing one. Luckily, their are many more great Doctors in the area. Great doctor, horrible office. read more

My wife had an MRI appt scheduled. We arrived timely and then had to deal with Dana, the MRI tech. She was completely unhelpful and rude in the extreme. She refused to allow me to help my wife into the MRI room, would not agree to help in the least. My wife is wheelchair bound, but Dana stated she had to walk into the room on her own and I could not help or enter the room. Had to give at least a 1-star rating to do the review. Dr. George repaired a meniscus tear on my knee in 2019 and most recently performed a total knee replacement. Between those two surgeries, I've had multiple gel injections and used their physical therapy department. I've never had anything but excellent service and results. I am terrified of surgeries, but Dr. George is the best. He explained everything completely, answered all my questions, and was very patient. His PA, Joel is the same. Their office took care of absolutely everything for me - insurance, setting up my pre-surgical appointment with my primary care doctor, all lab testing scheduled, the surgery scheduled at TOPS surgical center and sending me home with a CPM machine, walker, orthopedic stockings, knee immobilizer, and my home physical therapy and follow up appointments arranged and scheduled. Every tiny detail taken care of ahead of time! It was such a great relief. TOPS surgical center in Houston was incredible as well. Before the surgery, you attend a post op training and meet the nursing staff, the physical therapist (Alfred - awesome guy!) and the anesthesiologist. They literally give you a notebook and explain absolutely everything you need to know about what's going to happen before, during and after surgery. All of my questions were answered. Now, I am 6 weeks post op and doing physical therapy at the KSF Willowbrook office. Everything is going better than I ever imagined and I'm starting to see a future with a knee that bends! Thank you, Dr. George. You are the best! Dr. George also performed 2 shoulder surgeries on my husband and he was just as pleased with his experience with KSF and Dr. George and TOPS. It took me forever (nobody answers the phones there) to book a 2pm appointment here to go over MRI results of my knees with Dr. Dean. The first 30 minutes in the waiting room were spent filling out forms that, in total, asked me the same information about 3 times each (seems an inefficient method to utilize a comprehensive patient care database!!)...when I turned my clipboard in, someone behind me asked when she was going to see the same doctor I was there for, because she'd been there for an hour already waiting and she had another appointment to get to. Worry #1. At about 2:50, they called me back to a room, where a nurse asked me some of the same questions I'd just filled in on those forms and wrote them down on yet another piece of paper, then I got the Dr's assistant to come in and do a pre-check. Then I got to see Dr. Dean - he was professional and knowledgeable, and made me happy when he stated I did *not* need surgery, that I could receive Cortisone shots during my appointment and get set up with physical therapy. Woo! The Dr's assistant came in to give me my cortisone shots, then sent me downstairs to get my knee braces. I thought I would be connected with a physical therapist at that time, but I was not...and I tried to call back yesterday to get an appointment with a physical therapist, but it seems that nobody answers the phones around there except for the switchboard operator, and the appointment scheduling voicemail box is of course full. Suggestion: Make an appointment online *if you can* - not all services are available for online appointment scheduling - and expect to wait for about an hour before you're seen. Bring a book and your patience and eventually you'll get to interact with friendly and professional staff. read more

I called 5 minutes after leaving to be transferred to a voicemail that was full, called 2 other times through the day from 11-5pm At this point I will be filing a complaint with the medical board. They did nothing for The pain of a broken leg, when I told them I'm in pain, zero information on the surgery when I call I can't get ahold of anyone. This place is a joke. Dr. George is awesome. His staff is awful. I went in to get PT orders 3 weeks and have them sent to my PT place. They never sent the orders. They will not answer the phone. I can't get PT without the orders. You wait on hold for 6 minutes and then go to a VM box that is full 3 weeks straight! The place is a zoo, people waiting for hours bc they are overbooked. I went in for an injured bicep and saw dr miller. He was super cool and nice but felt rushed in a way. After the appointment was done he wanted to have MRI done and also referred me to his colleague Dr George. After I got done with the MRI their systems went down and took me 2 weeks to get my results back...I called maybe 30 times before I decided to go to the office. I get there and apparently they lost all my information and I had to fill out everything again. Thank god they at least found my MRI scans. I had to threaten them to fill out my FMLA because I could never get in touch with anybody at the office, almost felt like they got their money and forget about the patients. read more

Horrifying experience with Dr Mayur Kanjia. I trusted you with my pain care, yet, apparently something as simple as responding to phone calls from your patients and other physicians seems beyond your ability. Calling with concerns about new and worsening symptoms proved futile, when repeated increasingly concerned messages went unreturned for days or weeks. When I asked for an explanation for why he had not , as he assured me, coordinated with my surgeon pre-op, he and the office staff completely stopped responding to my calls. This mistreatment/neglect left me in a world of agonizing pain when I discovered I was allergic to the post-surgery pain meds he prescribed. 7 hours of frantic phone calls to KSF'sanswering service were unreturned. Finally my surgery team called Kanjia, prompting him to call me AND C H EW ME OUT FOR BOTHERING HIM!! So, i spent a weekend after thoracic surgery without proper pain care in agony. I called repeatedly asking for an explanation .The closest I got was a vague promise from Kanjia's assistant that some Administrator named Brian was supposed to call me. This was Nov 8th. I've left Brian multiple voicemails now with no response. I'm not ordinarily a litigious person, but this mistreatment is making me seriously reconsider. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Dr Miller removed my very bad trauma induced arthritic ankle and installed a new prosthetic metal ankle. This was the 23rd surgery on my 125-ft fall damaged legs since 1988 and this was my best and most pain free surgery experience. Fantastic experience with Dr Miller. He is patient, great at explaining what will happen and what to expect. My surgery was done at the Houston TOPS Surgical hospital and that facility was also very good. My only regret is that I can use Dr Miller only 1-more time, if I need my other ankle replaced. read more

Went into my appointment that I've had scheduled for two months only to be told when I walk in that my referral is up and I can't see the dr until I get a new referral. They refuse to let me be self pay so my only option was to just leave. I drove really far to be there on time so it's kind of a big deal to be turned away when I get there. I will not be back. Dr Kanjia is great but his staff do not care about patients at all and do not bother to let you know you need another referral until the day of your appointment when it's too late to get one. Really sad because I liked the dr. I have multiple chronic health problems and all my other Docktrs let me know well in advance before my referral is up so I have time to get the referral before my appointment and I refuse to accept a doctors office that does not. read more

I have come to this office for several years. This is the first time I have had a terrible experience. I love the doctors that I have seen for my Back, Knees and Shoulders. Surely they cannot possibly know what is going on in the office. I have been calling for over two weeks to find out results of an MRI done on 2-15-22. First you can't reach anyone with supposedly a new and improved phone system, you leave a message which they never return a call. Called back can't get anyone to answer. You try to reach another department to see if someone answers, which they don't. How is this a new and improved phone system? I guess the new system is try , try and try again and you still out luck, not going to reach anyone. I am at the point of wanting to find another doctor. Oh I did reach the appointment line eventually on February 22 only to be told that the computer system has been down for over a week. Seems no one is making an effort to get back with the patients. Dr Kanjia asked me to consider the nerve stimulator. I didn't think it would work. Tried the test run for a week. I was so sad when I had to take the test run out after a week. It was like getting the best Christmas present ever, then I had to return it. Dr Kanjia's office was able to get the permanent one quickly. It has helped my level of pain so much. Dr Kanjia cares so much about his patients. He listens to you researches your results and other trails that you have tried. Living with chronic pain is very difficult. Work with him and really tries what is best for you. I have sent several people to him. All of them have seen a difference. He is the best Doctor I have ever had to help me with my pain. I used to think KSF was the state of the art for Orthopaedics. They are poorly under staffed. Like water in the their gas. When you wait for someone to just answer the phone after 3 call of no one answering the phone for a hour and 1/2. Then I read reviews that this is an ongoing issue even waiting on doctor to come in the waiting room. KSF has blocked Google from even letting people post reviews. That right there should tell you something. There are tons of other Orthopaedic Doctors out there that has staff to handle patients needs. I am not looking for red carpet treatment just pick up the damn phone. read more

Dr Dunleavy is amazing. Very nice bed side manner. Knowledgeable and understanding of your needs. I cannot say enough nice things about him. I also really appreciate that he does not double book his patients which will create long wait times. If your appt is at 330, you are seen within a reasonable time of your scheduled time. read more

All three of my kids have been seen at this facility with a great experience so I thought it would be a good idea to see them for an injured ankle. This has been the worst headache. Got my ankle surgery scheduled and performed. The problem with this facility is that you can't get a hold of anyone. I called no less than 3 times with no answer to my call. On hold for 30+ minutes to try and get my FMLA paperwork filled out (of which they said 7-10 days). I physically had to go to the office and tell them I am not leaving until this is filled out. This is my job we are talking about here. So then they get it filled out and skip a box. I have sent messages, called, and faxed with no responses. I then get my referral for physical therapy. I now need a post operative report to schedule future visits. How long is this going to take to get? I am already 4 weeks out from surgery and should have been seen two weeks post op, but Dr. Miller was out of the office all week. These are people's lives that are being messed with. Just a little communication and customer service goes a long way. I called and finally got through to someone today and she said, you are welcome to go to the office, but I see your messages and they have been sent. Messages are no good when they aren't replied to. God help me if I was in severe pain. I would have to go to ER because I wouldn't be able to get a hold of someone in this office for any kind of help or relief. I feel sorry for the people in previous reviews that were in pain and unable to get help. Poor poor treatment. Let me not forget to mention that the front desk staff are less than happy. No smiles or pleasantries given to the patients. They really seem to not care. read more

I had been to this office once before for knee pain and saw Dr. Dunleavy, and he was phenomenal. Unfortunately he is not longer at the practice so I had to see Dr. Michael Dean. It was a horrible experience. I was taken back to the room and then had xrays. That was fine, quick and easy and the xray tech was very friendly. Back in the exam room, the PA came in and did an assessment, he was very professional and thorough. Then Dr. Dean came in the room. He did not introduce himself to me nor my father, and the entire time he was in the room it was like annoyed to be there. He hardly even looked at my knee and basically laughed at me when I described my symptoms and what has and has not worked for me previously. I ended up declining treatment and left the office. I don't even know where to start with my horrifying nightmare and my road to recovery for my knee injury from a careless slip and fall. My nightmare began after a massive fail of an ACL surgery that was supposed to be an outpatient procedure turned into a 4 day hospital stay and a second surgery needed the very next day to remove a screw that somehow ended in my nerve and had to be dug out. So I now have a 10 inch long scar running down the outer side of my leg with a few other smaller two inch scars on the inner side of my leg by my knee. All this done in a hunt for that screw that was playing hide and seek in my leg apparently. Absolutely mortified at the aftermath of stitching done to sow me back up; I then had to endure a year of limping with massive pain and agony. I had honestly just given up on ever being able to walk with no limp and be pain free. My collection of high heel stilettos turned into a collection of flip flops and flats. My other doctor would only tell me I was being a baby and had to continue physical therapy mind you after 4 months still little to no progress. He just said it was all normal the year limp and all. I was just doomed. THEN....... A friend of mine recommended me to Dr. George since her mother had previously had surgery with him and was very pleased. My first visit with him was in 2012 with my complaint of having a never ending limp and endless pain on my right knee and leg. I explained my horrifying experience of my original ACL surgery (above). In disbelief he did his best to reassure me that, that was NOT the standard. I really was hesitant to undergo another surgery. He suggested X-Rays and then after reviewing them sends me for an MRI. Inside I already knew but they confirmed my original surgery was an epic fail and I would need a THIRD surgery to repair my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). I opted for a donor tissue at the suggestion of my first doctor for my original surgery and the replacement graft he used had failed. So considering my ACL reconstruction would have to be completely redone; I was glad I still had the option to use my own tissue as Dr. George suggested would be a better option for my situation. I was very reluctant but decided to schedule my surgery. I go over the standard routine of pre-surgery prep. They have their own facility where they do surgery, Tops Surgical Specialty Hospital ("TOPS"). I show up on my scheduled date and was pleasantly surprised at how friendly and comforting all the staff was from the front desk at check in, the nurses, anesthesiologist, of course Dr. George and his PA. There really are no words to describe how grateful I am for these guys. This facility is just awesome. I went in for my surgery and what do you know I was done within the hour as planned. I was checked on repeatedly and they just make sure you don't need anything while in the recovery room. Now the big question is, was it worth doing another surgery? I could not believe it! I was able to walk and my limp was GONE! I did my post-opp appointments and physical therapy and I was back in my high heels. I even got a very nice phone call from the nurse the day following my surgery. She just wanted to check on me see how things were going and making sure I didn't have any questions. That for me went a long way. I think her name was Brenda, not sure but I really appreciated not being seen as a number and know they didn't dismiss you just cause your surgery was done and you were out of their hair. I don't recall how many weeks of PT I did but I'm glad I did it. They also have two office locations and both are great. I went to both locations for PT, but prefer the Red Oak location only because they have so much more equipment for the exercises. They are a one stop shop. I went to both the Red Oak and Willow Brook location for appointments, post-op and PT. I have had X-Rays, MRIs, and have been fitted for a knee brace. I prefer the Red Oak location because parking is in front of the building vs the Willow Brook location you have to walk a good distance, but you can valet park for $6 which I took advantage of. It is really nice to be able to get everything done at one location and without having to make multiple appointments for imaging. Then three years later in October of 2015 I had pain in my right knee again and went back to see Dr. George. This time I had a meniscus tear totally unrelated with my prior surgeries and he recommended another surgery. Being so satisfied with my last surgery he did; I didn't even think twice about it. I scheduled it and again was very happy with the outcome. It was nice to see familiar faces three yeas later. So much of the staff was still there and friendly as can be and that says a lot. So again a BIG thanks to Dr. George and all the staff at KSF and TOPS. I hope I don't need to go see you guys again for more surgeries but if I do at least I know I'm in good hands. read more

Brought my mother in for a follow up. We were pulled back 50 minutes after her scheduled appointment time. We were early for her appointment, so expected a little wait. I've worked at a medical office before so I know physicians run behind. But almost an hour? No apologies offered from anyone. Went up to the check in desk twice during our wait. Once at 30 minutes, then again at 40 minutes. Was told there was one patient ahead of us. At the Dr's office where I worked if the dr was running behind we made an announcement with an apology at 15 to 20 minutes. And if the patients complained we apologized. We've been pleased with KSF in the past, but today was unacceptable. Hopefully there will be improvement on time management as well as patient relations from the staff. read more

i first saw Dr. Alan Rosen in 2008 to have a benign tumor removed from my hand. he did an excellent job, pain was very minimal, and there's hardly a scar. he warned me that there's always a slight chance that the tumor could regrow if any bit of fragment is left behind, but he was thorough and did a wonderful job bc it's been 4 years and there's no sign of regrowth. i recently returned to KSF Ortho and Dr. Rosen, having dislocated my elbow and torn ligaments after a rock climbing accident. the entire staff is as kind and welcoming and helpful as i remembered, and Dr. Rosen is still the best. his bedside manner is personable and friendly, he remembers you, and the quality of treatment and care is outstanding. plus--the red oak office can not be missed. the entire all-glass building is KSF's practice with an army of physicians to treat you and there's a big private lot for parking. i'd never wish a broken bone or injury on anyone, but should you need a hand/upper extremity surgeon, Dr. Rosen is who you want wielding the scalpel! read more

The staff were very accommodating and Dr. Kanjia spent a lot of time asking questions to understand my problems and concerns. Also explaining why I was feeling the way I was feeling. He came up with a solution that made perfect sense. I left here feeling like there was genuine concern. I would highly recommend this office and will be coming back for outpatient physical therapy. One day as we were leaving a restaurant upon getting up I realized I could not walk as my knee had gone out without any prior warning. The pain was beyond words and Monday morning I called and made an appointment with Dr. Dean ( he did my carpal tunnel surgery many years ago) I went in and received x-rays to find out my knee was bone on bone from sports and high heels and just general wear and tear associated with aging...He gave me a cortisone injection in my knee of which I was terrified, but to my amazement the pain was minimal, mostly just discomfort but compared to the excruciating pain prior I was relieved that in a few days I could walk again. I lived in tennis shoes for 6 months but now I go about every 7 months for cortisone and I can wear my cute shoes, no high heels but cute wedges...Dr. Dean is the best!!! read more

Went to KSF Orthopedic at the Willowbrook location for shoulder trouble. I needed an MRI and scheduled with their front desk (first mistake) with KSF MRI at Red Oak (second mistake). Day of MRI arrives, using one of my precious few vacation days I arrive and the lady at the check in seems upset that I interrupted her breakfast and then tells me the MRI wasn't approved after being scheduled by KSF's own people at their MRI cemter. She lies to me that they called to inform me but my voicemail was full, absolutely not true.I then ask to pay cash and deal with the insurance later, nope they can't do that, more likely that she didn't want to deal with the paperwork. I like the doctors here but the staff are some of the worst, most unhelpful people I have ever met. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, Woodlands Sports Medicine never had the problem , I should have not have switched trying to find a place closer to my office. read more
