Dr. is great. The staff is horrible!! If she knew what was going on, she would probably fire several employees. I'm not able to make a follow up visit because their staff won't get back to me. Ive called 3 times and have received a text 3 times but they don't respond back. When I went to my first appt with her last month, everyone in front of me in line was saying they called several times and no one would call them back. We are all people needing medical help and the staff is basically refusing it. I suggest going elsewhere because it's not worth it, no matter how good the doctor is, because you won't be able to make an appointment to follow up. This must be illegal in some way to go to an assessment visit but never be able to follow up because the staff don't even respond to you. Years ago I was looking for a Dr. who would treat me and my CFS. I gave it "3 more doctors," and she was the one. She's willing to suggest/try things that work for some people rather than sticking to somebody's script. One of those "things" didn't work for everybody but changed my life. She listens, she cares. Almost all of my doctors are within a really good system, but I'm not going to budge on my PCP, Dr. Salvato. Now I'm waiting for my disibility and the DDS has sent request 4 times since October and no response. I went to this office last year when I was experiencing textbook liver disease symptoms, but instead of listening to me they brushed me off because I was young and had never had any previous health issues. I spent two months doing blood tests and wasting time with this doctor and one of her nurses accused me of doing drugs because my liver enzymes were so bad they were off the charts. Flash forward months later after going to a different doctor and being recommended to a specialist; turns out I had a rare type of cancer causing problems in my bile ducts. If I stayed with this doctor I might have died before I got proper care. I strongly don't recommend this clinic. read more

I started seeing Dr. Salvato back in 2016. Thank god I found her. She found my chronic Lyme infection that was causing me all kinds of problems. She treated me until I moved in 2018. I've been seeing Dr. Salvato for years. I am a tough case. I have severe chronic pain and many underlying conditions. She is always patient and kind. She's always trying to help me in any way she can and not just trying to Band-Aid symptoms but also find a way to treat any underlying causes. She also believes pain patients. She spends lots of time with her patients. WOW - I read all the negative comments and just can't believe my eyes. I have been a patient seems like forever (probably since 2009) for Fibromyalgia. I had just googled her as didn't have a recommendation when my general physician diagnosed me. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Salvato and Carol Thompson. I feel soooo much better now than 8 years ago when I could barely drag myself out of bed in the morning and hurt so bad. Since the beginning she has watched my bloodwork very closely and made some great suggestions to my care. I am now taking the Myer's Cocktail along with my glutathione infusion and I am like a new person!!! Dr. S goes to conferences to learn more about this unknown disease and comes back to share with her patients. I visit with other patients and never have I heard anything negative. Years ago the waiting was long but now they have things under control and can't say anything negative about the wait time once checked in. I have no problem getting an appointment. I usually don't look forward to doctors visits except for Dr. Salvato. Dr. Salvato always answers my questions and explains why and how the body reacts to the different autoimmune diseases I have. I never get the extensive lab work done by the other Dr.s I have seen. I have been to many Dr.s over the years, but only Dr. Salvato was able to put a name to and validate my autoimmune diseases. It is very unfortunate that a good doctor would have such a HORRIBLE staff!! I have been seeing Dr. Salvato for a year now and her staff has proven time and time again that they can not handle their job. I have had test results that have been ready for over a month and a half and I STILL can not get anyone to give them to me. Every time I call (which is numerous times a week) I get told that they will send a message to the nurses so they may give me a call back (from Lauraand a few others.) I know Dr.'s offices are typically hard to work with but her office is absolutley insane. I should not be waiting two months after my appointment to figure out the next step in my treatment. I have been a patient of Dr. Salvato's since 1995. She and her assistant Carol have provided exceptional care and always made sure I knew I was more then just a number, but that my health was important. Dr. Salvato's office staff is managed by a secondary company and yes there are times when it seems like the nursing staff could do better. Each time I have felt there was an issue or concern I have brought it to Dr. Salvato's attention and have noticed an immediate change. Like all doctors, she is by appointment only, but will never turn you away if you are extremely sick and come in without an appointment. She has a genuine care for her patients and does everything within her power to see as many as possible each day. This is a doctor I have trusted with my health and my life and she has never failed me. Dr. Salvato is responsible for a physician practice that is focused on profit not on your health. You are a tiny cog in their machine. You only have a few minutes with the doctor - and if you miss anything, good luck getting any more attention. I know two patients who had multiple each showing various symptoms - and Dr. Salvato totally missed the obvious diagnosis. In addition, the staff is grouchy and bitchy because they're overworked. Dr. Salvato has a policy to *not* do any pre-approvals, which cause insurance denials and delays at the pharmacy. In addition, their staff doesn't transmit the data to the pharmacy in a timely way. Multiple requests by the pharmacist goes unanswered for days - even weeks in some instances - and they don't respond to phone calls or messages from patients when trying to resolve the issue. The answer? Another physical appointment. Stay away from this practice unless you're healthy. When you get sick, be sure you have another doctor on speed dial. read more

Suffered a brain trauma issue earlier this year, called Dr. Salvato and was told to come in, arrived at the time I was told and waited over 2.5 hours and was told nobody could see me but to go downstairs to their ER and have an MRI. The last time I did that, the coding was done wrong for my insurance, and the short story is $100,000 out of pocket, I am bright enough to know not to go to their ER. It was a holiday weekend and I panicked as my first traumatic brain injury was unchartered waters. Random maybe but am educated enough to know not to mess with the brain. Did find a competent doctor that solved the problem. The next time I went in for my RX refill, guess what the DX was, a concussion. I am a new patient of Dr Salvato. I was referred to her by one of my church members. Since I've been there, Dr Salvato has done a marvelous job. I went to see her could I was having pain in my right knee. She diagnosed me before even seeing it, looking at it, or the MRI. She told me that it was a cyst behind my knee. That's what it was, along with other things. I recommend dr. Salvato to any patient. She is far from where I live but if I can get a ride I will be there. I have been a patient of Dr Salvato for 15 years. She is an amazing physician and I have seen her for everything from a runny nose to appendicitis. Sometimes I see her PA only (who is awesome) when it is something easily diagnosed and Dr Salvato when it is a more complicated. She is very thorough and takes the time to answer any questions regardless of how many people are in the waiting room. I know there are other doctors in my network (BCBS) that could see me immediately when I call for an appointment however, I prefer to wait to see Dr Salvato. I called them as a new patient and was forwarded to the new patient coordinator's voicemail. Never received a callback. I called them back and explained that I need a very specific drug allergy test and I need to know the Anthem Blue Cross in-network price of a doctor consultation and drug allergy test, and that I haven't met my deductible yet so I would bear 100% of the network price. They told me that they couldn't provide the cost information since they have no idea what the insurance will pay. I explained again that they are in-network with my insurance company and have established pricing already in place, and since I hadn't met my deductible yet then I would have to pay 100% of the pre-negotiated pricing. They still couldn't answer the question. Due to the lack of a callback and their unwillingness to provide the price for a very clear and straightforward procedure I went to another allergist that was able to answer these simple questions instead of pressuring me to book an appointment without even detailing the costs for this. I was pleasantly suprised at my visit. I read bad reviews of the staff, but all the staff members I came into contact with were really friendly. They even went as far as to follow up with me twice on the phone over the next couple days of updates. Everything was pretty organized and systematic so whatever kinks were reported eported in reviews obviously have gotten worked out. Dr. Salvato seemed very educated, passionate, and did not assume anything. She took her time and not only listened, but was very descriptive and explanatory. After reading these negative reviews, I had to chime in with my own two cents. Some are just whiny (I didn't get my way bc they were booked up boohoo) and some are outright hilariously whiny. Dr. Salvato and Dr. Hart are both very excellent highly experienced professional MD's. The nurse Practitoner's as well. They stay very busy and it's hard to get an appointment here on short notice unless you take the initiative to call back several times daily to see if there was a cancellation. However, that takes effort. Which several that left negative reviews obviously didn't. And the office staff is very helpful, and like these doctors, obviously very busy as well. If this was such a terrible place, then why is this place always booked up with limited availability? Point made, and fact stated. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST office ever. DO NOT become a patient. This office for starters is horrible, the front desk treats all of there patients like shit. They get things done on THEIR time. My appointment has ran late every single time for a year now. When i call to speak with a doctor i get no response, and if i do it's taken 20 calls and 5 complaints. They say the give you prescriptions but don't so then your sitting without medicine for 2 months. THIS OFFICE IS HORRIBLE!! If i could throw a rock through the window of the waiting room i would just to hit the big Mexican Bitch that sits on the other side. They are told to get you out of the office now and that is it. She schedules 3 patients for one slot and does not care how long you wait. Get rid of the front office staff that answers the phone. They are the laziest bunch of bitches I have ever encountered in my 40 plus years of going to doctors in Houston. Since going to Dr. S in 2000 til 2016 the quality of front office staff has failed to improve nor has the office manager herself ever proved to give a darn. I even became a victim of ID theft from someone in that office. Yet on the other hand I have to say Dr. Salvato saved my life at a time other doctors were writing me off. She identified some metabolic issues that were slowly killing me--literally. She had a treatment that helped. I love her her style and she has always been nothing but honest. I like the crew that checks me out. But get rid of the people that answer the phone and put you on hold for 25 minutes or more or until they close. Dr Salvato is by all means one of those few doctors that you can find. You can tell that she REALLY care about its patients. From the moment she walks thru that door, she enters with a big smile reassuring that EVERYTHING is going to be OK. It's a great sense of relief, that I am sure other fellow patients feels as well. I was referred by my previous internal medicine doctor to go see Dr. Salvato for treating my Hypothyroidism. Getting an appointment with her is surely a pain in the butt (or a slap in the face). Long story short, I had been calling her 1 week before Hurricane Harvey hit! So far ... as you all can see the 1 star rating, heh ... I have zero luck. Truly wish I could give her a zero star. Every time after I missed Jay's call and then called him back immediately, they wouldn't let me talk to him. Smh ... I am very fed-up with this ridiculous situation. This is just making me more stressful and depressing. As a result, I am feeling much sicker! I am trying to get treatment but not more torture. You know what, that's it. I give it 2 more days, which means today and tomorrow for Jay to work with me. If I couldn't get a hold of him, I need to move on. After trying to schedule an appointment for almost 2 months and sending emails/ questionnaire, calls (when they just hang up on me) I finally got an email back from the scheduler of the new patients who said that she denied my application and it's not going to see me. I've tried for 2 weeks to see if I will be "accepted" as a new patient. I was sent a generic email with questions to determine if I will be accepted. I started calling after one week to inquire about my email. 5 times I was told Jay or the patient coordinator would phone me back. No one has ever called me back after repeatedly leaving my name and number. This morning I phoned and was told the patient coordinator was out all week and that no once else can give me an answer about becoming a new patient. This is most whacked out process ever for any doctor to have in place for new patients. The staff on the phone is horrible at best, no concern or care what so ever. I was nice and cordial every time I phoned until today when I told the lady to go to hell because of the way she way treated me and my experience. I have had a chronic illness for ten years that turned out to be rocky mountain spotted fever diagnosed way too late to be treatable by only doxycycline. Every other doctor out there will treat you with minocycline or doxycycline and declare you "cured" despite not knowing if there is any active illness in your body. They don't care. I'm 23 and have been in too much pain to move, think straight, hold down a job, or take care of myself. Today thanks to Dr. Salvato I did 30 jumping jacks just because I can. Also the phlebotomists are great. And by the way, about the front staff - as per my experience with office staff, they're actually not that bad, relatively speaking. Dr. Lovato' appointment coordinator is the worst I have ever encountered. I called to set an appointment and asked them if they have Spanish speakers on staff and they assured me they did. Their information says they speak Spanish there. This was an appointment for my mother They asked me to wait over two months for the appointment. When my mother went, the office staff laughed at her when She requested a Spanish translator. She left the office humiliated. I called the office and asked them what happened and they laughed at me and no apologies were given. I have never been treated this way. I am very grateful for Dr. Salvato and all she has done for me. I've read some reviews and am saddened to see there are negative ones. There are two sides to every story. Yes, her staff is really busy as she has a huge chronically ill patient load. I realize that I'm not her only patient and show up for my allotted appointment time (from out of town) and have had no problems. I've seen several rude patients her staff has had to deal with. Most are in a tizzy to get refills on pain medications & from what I overheard (because the patients were loud and obnoxious) they have abused those. The office keeps the appts rolling through, but if you come prepared with questions or concerns, she will address them and is very thorough with lab work and tests. I've personally never had any problems with the staff, a few phone calls have been dropped, but I can redial. She saved my life and is a Great Dr! read more

Dr. Salvato may be a great MD, But she is in and out fast, OK. But her staff and office policy is a pain! Left with an Rx went to get it filed on they way home 2pm said to come back in 1 hour, during this time the store repeatedly call her office, at 3 I called and tried to explain THEY had just left off the X a day, off the Rx. was told there was nothing that could be done, till after 4pm, repeatedly asked if there was no one that could call the store, as most doctors have. NO! Didn't care I was in server pain in a hot car waiting, couldn't tell me when they would get to it, just that my chart was in the pile, 4;45 no Rx, had to drive the other hour home with out RX. was so sick and stress I missed my exit! 5:20 they called the store. THANKS for the STRESS, now I have a long drive back in the am. Would call to complain but after reading the reviews, and the 2 they say not to read, wont matter the staff doesn't care! read more
