This gym is all those things and more. Emiliano and everyone I met (especially Joe and Trenton) were fantastic - safe, welcoming, and great teachers. By the way, I'm not a shill/fake reviewer, I just really think this place is the perfect school for me. The Gracie combatives curriculum is also awesome to me; I'm glad to learn enough techniques before starting to roll hard to be safe and not just get crushed constantly. That said, if you're eager to try rolling like I was, some of the advanced belts would be happy to go with you so you can feel it out - I asked to roll with them nice and easy. I felt completely safe the whole time and had a blast. Emiliano even let me try the technique we learned in class while we were rolling. No ego, just great teaching. Of course, when he wanted to, Emiliano quickly and decisively put me in submissions, because he's a trained killer. I'm pretty sure he can help me get there too, and you as well if we put in the work. Highest recommendation!

What I experienced instead was the exact opposite -- a cold, profit-driven operation with no compassion or flexibility, even in the face of documented medical hardship. Due to a very real, very painful medical condition -- one that I provided proper documentation for -- I requested that my membership be placed on hold, and ultimately canceled when it became clear my health would not allow me to return anytime soon. Despite fulfilling every requirement outlined in their contract, they've refused both. Instead, they demanded additional personal information beyond what is required, a transparent attempt to trap me in a contract I cannot physically utilize. Their behavior is not only unprofessional -- it's morally bankrupt. They are not interested in wellness, community, or care. They are interested in money, and they will squeeze it out of you however they can, even if you're suffering. To add insult to injury, the instruction provided during the active portion of my membership was disappointingly subpar. It consisted mostly of video instruction and unsupervised drills with other inexperienced students. Live instruction and constructive feedback -- the things that make martial arts training worthwhile -- were minimal at best. They are charging premium prices for what amounts to DIY practice in a rented space. This studio does not practice the values it preaches. They are a business, not a family, and a predatory one at that. If you're considering signing a contract, don't. If you value transparency, flexibility, and genuine martial arts education, look elsewhere.

Our 2 boys have been going here for just about a year and we absolutely love the training that they have received. Our youngest attends the little dragons class and our eldest attends the beginners class so weve been able to have a good chance to see how both programs operate. The boys really look forward to each class and we are so happy with how they have been progressing. Led by Sensi Sheri and Sensi Trey, you can really tell they genuinely care about all their students and are passionate about passing along their knowledge to their students. I also love how they incorporate the sempai's which helps instill a teaching culture within the senior students while at the same time teaches them how to be good role models. Each kids class is kept energetic and i enjoy how it ends with a fun game that the students really enjoy. The owner/ black belt (Josh) is charismatic and is so good with kids and teaching as a whole. The other instructors follow Josh's lead with being approachable and willing to help everyone. The gym was clean and offers a safe atmosphere and culture for learning. I've trained at a lot of gyms around the US and other countries, this is by far the best BJJ gym yet. For the gym itself, it's simple, clean, and in an easily accessible area with plenty of parking. There is plenty of scheduling at both locations (Brandon and Lakeland) with Fabio being the actual instructor for each class and if he isn't, it specifies on his website. The pricing is the cheapest out of all other gyms I have seen and there is no contract. Fabio is incredibly understanding that life gets hard and if you need to take a break or anything else you can always cancel your membership and renew it when you're back. Under no other mentor or coach have I ever seen such a respectful and appreciative community for each other. Every time you show up to a class people welcome you in whether it is your first time there, or your first time back after you took a break. All of Fabio's classes are technical, fun, and challenging. No school comes close to us in tournament success. Our BJJ works. We've produced A LOT of IBJJF BJJ world champions. Fabio won't even do contracts. You pay month-to-month, If you need to quit, take a break, whatever you just call, and they do it over the phone. It's just him and his wife running the school. They are even more affordable than the other schools, have more mat space, and offer day and night classes. If you just want a black belt without earning it, go elsewhere. There are a lot of bogus bjj schools around here. If you want to be good and know your jits is effective, see Fabio. The first week is free.

The Owner and John called me the next day, I told them my budget and how I wanted a gift certificate. I would print pictures cor my 5 year old grand-daughter to unwrap so she knew what she was getting. the pictures would help her to understand the gift certificate. They custom made my gift certificate, stayed in my budget and included a uniform. They went well beyond, they exceeded my expectations. I can not wait for my granddaughter to start her lessons.
