I drove 30 min to get here and when parking the nurse called and said they don't do labs and can't treat me at all and I need to go to ER. I have gone to KU Midwest urgent care with multiple family members for a variety of medical conditions in the last year, from RSV to a broken wrist, and found them to be prompt, professional and accurate. We have never waited more than 20 minutes to see a doctor and labs and xrays took minimal time to complete and results to come back. I have been here before and quite frankly did not enjoy my experience. Check in was slow, and the NP that I saw talked and talked and talked keeping me there for a long time when I was very sick and just wanted to go to bed. Today I was taken back to a room right away. I was able to check in online which made my time at the desk very quick. Within minutes of taking my vitals I was able to see a doctor. He confirmed concerns for an issue I was having with my leg and immediately called to the Radiologist in the building, who squeezed me in. This is so much better than going to a regular Urgent care for this reason-they have x-ray technology, labs, and ultrasounds on site! Normally that would be a visit to an ER at a much great cost. Everyone from the people at the front desks to the lab techs and doctor were absolutely awesome. I'm so happy I gave this place another try. It has been a few years since my initial visit. I highly recommend KU Midwest if you're in the "maybe I need an ER" category of health care but you aren't sure, and/or don't want the ER prices. read more

Currently sitting here 2.5 HOURS waiting for eye drops for pink eye. Should have been an in and out visit. Just need a prescription. Very simple. Instead I'm still here 2.5 hours (and still haven't had doctor come in) to get basic pink eye drops for my son. I've missed over half a day of work. Oh. And doctor came in and said "oh no nurse here" and shut the door. Except we HAVE been seen by a nurse, it's just been so long the computer shut off. So now... who knows. Stuck waiting more. I was a patient of Jennifer Scott. she was fantastic. however she retired and when I called in Jan (2025) to set an appointment they said I was considerEd a "New Patient" and couldn't get me in until April with Dr Noland. fast forward a month or so and I had a bad Gastrointestinal issue and they said they could not get me in any sooner. they said I should go to urgent care or another doctor. I went to urgent care and the issue was addressed. however I had some follow up symptoms. Dr Nolan's still couldn't get me in any earlier and when I called they again suggested I see another Dr if I couldn't wait. so I did as they told me. now two days before my appoint t they reached out and canceled the appointment. they said since I saw another physician they were no longer willing to see me. I even asked for another appointment with another Dr and the office would not entertain that or even speak with any of the Doctors. They wouldn't let me speak with anyone either. they have my charts and history and know I have diabetes and need care and medication. However because I did exactly what they told me to do they now refuse to see me. I don't understand and feel it absolutely unacceptable. on the other hand I guess I shouldnt want care from a Doctor who clearly has no compassion or morale obligations to their patients. Dr Rozina will injure your child and not take any responsibilities for her decisions. Our daughter is a vax injury from Rosina's decisions and KU Med west will not own up to injuring my daughter. She was dizzy, could not walk, missed multiple days of school, thousands in ER expenses. She is literally PRACRICING unknown medicine on our kids. The Covid shots are not tested and my daughter is a living example of negative reactions. read more

Congratulations this place deserves my very first review, to start off you have to go through a disorganized staff team who messes up and loses your health documents and then have to wait five hours after making a appointment just to get what you made the appointment for. I unfortunately work at a job that requires me to go to this location to cover my healthcare needs. But if you are not required to come here do not come here by choice. If I could give this doctors office a 0 star rating I would. My boyfriend has been seeing this doctor for a few months now. He has waited numerous hours to be seen, sitting in waiting room. when there is a potential for extreme waiting times then they should let you know upfront You cannot reschedule or you are reported as refusing and fail the drug screening no one should be threatened when all you want to do is get the screening done. This place is so behind on their work. They didn't listen to what I needed which led to miscommunication. What is worst is that the form I signed stated that I'll be seen in 15 minutes but I waited for 2 hours to get a vaccination. They gave me someone else's paperwork. Sloppy place. Sloppy workers. Was a bit hesitant to come here, after reading the reviews--however, I didn't really have much of a choice due to my insurance. The front desk receptionists were rude and dismissive. I stood there for nearly a minute before I was helped, as one receptionist was teaching the other one how to navigate through their system. After I got in, it was smooth sailing. Nurse and physicians assistant were both very nice and caring. Both women were open to talking to me about my symptoms and I truly felt like I was being listened to. read more

I have to take my little godson here for checkups on his ears. The people are pleasant and nice. They try to help out as much as possible even with a language barrier. Only issue is the constant rescheduling before the appointments. Other than that, they get you in fast. read more

My husband is a firefighter and has to go to this location for occupational health. Every single experience that we have had with them over the last year has been awful. It started with excruciatingly long wait times despite having an appointment, to them losing his urine sample, to waiting weeks for test results because "the doctor was out of town", etc. etc. I could go on and on. I have used KU for years now and I love all of their other services - they all seem to flow really well and have good organization and scheduling for the most part, however this site in particular is absolutely terrible. For example, just this morning he had a follow up visit scheduled at 8:30 AM and at 10:30 (after multiple inquiries as to when he would be seen) he still had three patients ahead of him and they could not give him an estimated time he would actually see the doctor. He had to go into his second job at 11 and could no longer wait to see the doctor so he ended up having to leave, therefore wasting his entire morning waiting around for nothing. I'm not sure why they even allow people to have appointment times if they can't actually see the physician within two hours of the schedule appointment time. This exact scenario has happened every time that he has had an appointment with them, which is why he made his appointment one of the first appointments of the day thinking he could avoid this ridiculously long wait time. Obviously that doesn't matter either. We have also had a very difficult time getting a hold of someone to express our frustrations. read more

I don't usually do reviews, but I feel like I need to share my positive experience. I arrived at the clinic around 8:15pm knowing that they close at 9. I had a laceration on my finger that would require stitches or glue. The front desk was very quick at getting me paperwork, and they promptly placed me in a room and prepped my finger. I ended up waiting an hour in that room, but I'm not complaining. There were lots of people there that needed assistance! People forgot how EXPENSIVE an emergency room visit is and how the wait there can be a while too. The nurse got back to my room at 9:25 to fix me up. She got me glued up and gave me a tetanus shot to send me home. So she was there working long after close to ensure everyone was squared away. Greatly appreciated... read more

Arrived on a Saturday morning, only 1 other person in waiting room. Quickly placed in a room, where I waited over 1 hour and heard 3 people come and go in the room next door. Nurse finally came in and asked if the doctor had been in and said there was a 'computer glitch'. Doctor came in and seriously spent 90 seconds (I timed) washing his hands, asking me 2 questions, and examining me. I'm in healthcare, and this is not sufficient time to adequately assess anyone. I got the idea he just didn't want to apologize for the 'computer glitch' or he actually just has a horrible bedside manner. I went to KU Medwest urgent care this afternoon with flu like symptoms. At seeing my discomfort, I was taken back to a room immediately. The entire staff was kind and efficient. I was walked to X-ray where pneumonia was ruled out. When I couldn't stop coughing they brought me water and a box of Kleenex. The caring staff made a miserable afternoon a bit better and I was in and out in about an hour with advise and perscriptions. read more

I went here for a simple drug test for pre employment screening. You have to go to the area, Pod D, for occupational health and urgent care. The front desk woman was so rude and acted like she hated being there and did not like interacting with people. They were all very concerned that their breakfast burrito order from some fast food restaurant was somehow wrong. The most rude was a blond pregnant woman. Then I went to the back and began the procedure for drug screening for my new job. The rude and dismissive behavior continued by a young black woman. She was almost hateful. I have been a customer service Manager for years, and I was shocked at their behavior to the public. This is also where you go for urgent care. Imagine if you were sick or injured how this would feel. I have spent countless hours with loved ones at the main KU Med Center hospital, and their care for patients and family are excellent . This place, at least Pod D, does not even come close to the standards or level of compassion or service that the main KU Med Center Hospital has set. read more

This Negative review concerns KU Med West URGENT CARE. I fell off my bicycle and fractured my scapula. I did not go to the ER, but waited until the next day, and thought I was going to an "Urgent Care" facility- not an EMERGENCY ROOM. I paid the fee for approximately $135. I was told that I needed an X-RAY, and I told the nurse: "I have a couple of hundred dollars for an x-ray", but I don't wish to have an x-ray if it was going to cost me a thousand dollars (or two thousand). The nurse assured me that in no way it would cost anywhere near THAT! Well, guess what I was billed ? $630.00 PER X-ray. They took TWO, and I received a bill for $1,260.00. This is DISGUSTING, and it is next to highway robbery. When I called to question the charge, I was told that the minute I walked out of the department of the Urgent Care facility (there is no door, no separate building, no dividing line, the x-ray department is on the same floor-- that I was in a different department, and also that there was no way that they could have told me what it was going to cost, until, of course, I got the bill. The URGENT CARE facility run by Menorah Medical Center charges $94.00 for a shoulder x-ray. The Urgency Room off I-35 in Liberty charges about the same for a shoulder x-ray. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE SIGN ON THE KU-MEDWEST BUILDING THAT THEY RUN AN "urgent care" facility- it is NOT. It is an arm of their HOSPITAL Emergency Room. Unless you are dying or near death, go somewhere else. THIS is, to me, FALSE ADVERTISING, and you will get ripped off!
