Knew to the second when our boy would come out of sedation. Since Austin German Shepherd Rescue also uses this vet office, who better to take care of my GSD's health care than Dr. Daigle? So why not a perfect five? With the exception of the vet tech that got assigned to assist with our appointment, the rest of the staff is another story. I emailed the office requesting an appointment since the phone line was busy. Two days later, I still hadn't heard from the office, so I called and actually got through to make an appointment. I filled out all the online forms and had all of my boy's medical records emailed over. We arrive for the appointment & the tech starts asking me questions that I'd already thoughtfully & completely provided online prior to appointment date. It was a waste of my time to follow instructions online only to have to repeat the process in person. In this, the office could use an organizational overhaul. Now my boy is reactive: fear, leash & fence; with a very high prey drive. Rather than showing me a compassionate smile, I could see the staff rolling their eyes at each other, just a total lack of empathy. I could also say, better competent than good bedside manner but, as this was our first appointment, the former still remains to be seen.

I called and even came in in person to talk with them about getting a discount for their next visit or at least a credit or something and was denied and told no because the hair will grow back. So every dog that goes in there should expect to get a haircut and shaved incorrectly because no one can tell what the differences between a neutering and a spay is Husky hair takes longer to grow back and if shaved incorrectly might not grow back the right way. I know it's just hair and that it'll grow back but I did not pay for him to get inaccurately shaved for a procedure that doesn't even apply to him. I didn't even get an apology from the person or a phone call letting me know what they had done. I do not recommend this place where

Dr Sam Seramur was his doctor and was very comforting and gave us plenty of time to be with him before and after the procedure. Brady never turned down food so when they brought in chicken, he gobbled it down and although it immediately came back up, he enjoyed that last meal. The tech who gently removed his body wrapped in blankets was so kind and it meant a lot when he said that he could tell we were good dog parents. I hope no one reading this has to ever go through this but if you do, I recommend this caring business .

When I mentioned that my dog was cold while we were in the waiting room, a technician brought him a blanket. The vet was kind when he came to talk to me about my dog and then later his test results. Our mares are older (21 & 25)…read moreso the first thing we had done to each of them when we purchased them was a full physical, vaccinations and teeth floating. He worked great with each of the older girls and gave us great feeding recommendations. Since the first visit he has handled any situations that have come up sensibly, calmly, professionally, and with great talent. He does a wonderful job of explaining the situation and our options, and goes above and beyond any time we call with questions. This past year has been a tough one on our mares. Somehow one of them badly cut her pastern, and although there was no tendon damage, her foot had to be put into a cast up to her ankle. She was put on 3 weeks of stall rest too in order to limit her movement and allow the cut to heal. Looking at her now, you can barely see the scar of what could have been a proud flesh nightmare. Our other mare chose to act colic-y while we were out of town. Within minutes of making the emergency call to him, Dr. Gary was at our place and diagnosed her with choke, not colic. He was able to flush the choke and it eventually broke down and washed into her stomach. He literally saved her life. I feel his pricing is reasonable but would be willing to pay whatever he asked to keep him as the vet for our horses. No matter the day, no matter the time, his knowledge, common sense, and talent working with horses is unbeatable. His ranch is set up for the comfort of the horses and other livestock, not to be impressive to fancy owners, which I really appreciate. The stalls are kept very clean and are "open" on the front and back which not just gives the animals great ventilation but allows a horse stuck on stall rest to have many things to keep their brain stimulated. The vet area is set up to be extremely safe, very clean, and well stocked. We feel blessed to have Dr. Tom Gary located so close to Rockdale!
