We went to the one in bergen mall, which iw more of a cart so the ice-cream swirl isn't as fancy obviously. The ube ice-cream alone is AMAZING but i didn't understand the latte really. I feel for $10 it should completely make sense and work with the ice-cream, which i felt it didnt. The ube latte part tasted kinda watery. Would definitely recommend the soft-serve ice-cream though, thats amazing!

I've been to this cafe twice so far. I tend to stick with the simpler items because I'm vegan and gluten-free, so I avoid the marshmallows, cookies, certain syrups, and things like that. I have to say--their presentation is absolutely gorgeous. The first time I went with friends, I got a matcha latte with almond milk and it was delicious. My friends got these really fun creations and were so surprised by how much they loved them. One of the drinks even had a marshmallow on it, and one of my friends also got the ube soft serve. Another friend got a simple coffee, and we all loved our drinks so much. The presentation really stood out. We came back this past Saturday. I was thinking about getting the strawberry matcha latte--and now I wish I had, because I read the reviews and everyone says it's amazing--but I got another drink that was really tasty. My friends got the ube ice cream again, and another one of them got a different drink. We all loved our selections. This place is very tiny. I think they have about six tables that seat two to three people each. There's also a little couch you can sit on--it looks like a backyard swing, which is super cute. One of the most fun parts of this cafe is the photo booth. They have a free ring light photo booth where you can choose different styles and filters. My friends hate taking pictures, but every time I go, I take like ten of those little photos for myself. Also, the bathroom is clean--and I always like to mention that because it matters to me. Definitely be prepared that you might not get a seat, but hopefully you'll go at a time when one is available. This place is just so nice. I enjoyed it so much. The presentation is beautiful. Definitely go if you get the chance.
This place is dangerously close to my home. I might be go there a lot!! It's a very cute small cafe located right by Sushi Ya. There is street parking in the front and the meter parking in the back. There's only 1 table and a few chairs, so this is more of a grab and go place. I ordered the ube ice cream with taiyaki. The ice cream was soo delicious and so was the taiyaki (the server said it was regular batter and mochi flour, so it had that chewy mochi texture). The taiyaki didn't have any fillings, it was just plain, which is fine. But really good flavor overall. It's pricey but it was a decent serving size. The server was also really sweet and the place was clean.

I am certain on my return here and I highly recommend other people who want to try a new twist on dessert to stop by. You will not be disappointed!
Such a cute cafe! I stopped by on my day off from work and found parking easily (which I was surprised about because it's all street parking). They have a cute photo mirror that text you the photos you take. I got an ube cookie and I asked them if they could make me an ube chai (who h o should note is something I've never heard of and just made it up on the spot). It was delicious. I wish the cookie had more of an ube flavor, but I liked its softness. Definitely reccommend stopping by!

Cute spot. I was very underwhelmed by the earl gray with earl gray tea; the ice cream was a tad bland. Also, my boba was tough to chew; that was a bummer. The real star was my kiddo's ube sundae; that for sure is something people should get. There is this tablet that is used to take pictures, and it's actually annoying because it is set between two seating arrangements so people were basically taking over your privacy via hovering over this social tablet.
Love this! Doesn't necessarily taste like a cheesecake but love how it taste like fresh homemade ube! The crust was my favorite part since it was nice and salty.

To my disappointment, they did not have earl gray soft serve either of the times I visited. Additionally, the prices are definitely higher because of the novelty, but I did not feel the money-for-value was there. My friend got a matcha soft serve, and the middle of the cup was totally empty/hollow despite costing $10! My tea was also more expensive than most boba spots in Jersey. The earl gray tea I got was good, but nothing special. The boba was okay, mildly sweet and chewy. The cafe itself is cute and clean. I'll probably be trying other spots for my next boba fix!

Kubo is such a cute little gem, especially if you love ube as much as I do. It's rare to find spots that offer ube flavors which is what initially caught my attention, and Kubo does it so well. The space itself is cozy and cute. While there isn't a ton of seating, I've never had an issue finding a spot to sit and enjoy dessert, which makes it a great place to slow down for a bit. Delicious flavors! The milk teas were okay, but the soft serves were amazing. The sweetness of the soft serve overpowers the milk tea, but it's still a great drink--especially on a hot day! Went on Sunday with a group of five and hit a late lunch rush. Took about 10 minutes for our orders. Service was polite and efficient but they only had one person on staff to be both the cashier and do food prep. Single stall bathroom, limited seating. Street parking. read more

What a cute little spot. Comfy atmosphere with seatings along the perimeter of the room. Regarding the food and drinks, the presentation was well executed. Think very instagramable. There's a wide selection to choose - from bubble tea to sundaes to cookies and other specialty goods. It is pricey considering the size of what you get. Each was $8-10. Theres also 3% surcharge if you pay with credit card. That's something I wish they let you know ahead of time. Will have to come back and try all the other options!! I'm excited to return. I recommend the ube sundae and the ube tres leche! read more

The drinks and soft serve on top is phenomenal. I came here and ordered an ube soft serve milk tea and an ube soft serve espresso for my dad. The seating is nice and they have music playing in the background. I also saw that they had cookies which looked very good. The ice cream on the milk tea was delicious and I loved the ube milk tea with tapioca pearls. My dad also liked his drink and the ice cream. I will definitely be coming back another day for more! read more

Good place, unique food ideas and such...like bubble tea mixed with ice cream and even using ube (which isn't seen a lot). The Service was okay, that's all I have to say about that. And the place was very pretty, and full of trendy decor. But one way they could improve is by buying more ingredients...they were out of almost everything when we got there, they even said that they didn't have change to give back to us. Now, I'm not trying to steer people away just keep in mind I that if you come later in the day they might not have much. read more
I've had Kubo Coffee and Creamery on my list of places to check out and I finally got around to it on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I took my kids with me and we indulged in some delicious sweets! When we walked in, the atmosphere was just so cute! There were lots of comfy spots and cute nooks to take pictures. My daughter ordered the S'mores ice cream. We were told they were out of chocolate ice cream, but that was fine by my daughter! She ordered it with the cookie monster cookie dough ice cream instead. My son had a cup of the soft serve Ube ice cream. I couldn't believe how much he liked it. All he could talk about that day was the "delicious purple ice cream from Kubo." They definitely give out healthy portions so make sure you come hungry! I was so torn on what to order. I wanted to try everything! The woman at the counter was so patient with my questions and suggested a few options. I finally settled on a Brown Sugar Ube Espresso with boba. Oh man, it was delightful! The soft serve Ube with the espresso was just so good. The size was perfect and filled me up. The prices were right too! I can't wait to return to Kubo and to try something else!! read more
Came back and had the Ube latte and it was exactly what I needed on a windy fall day. It wasn't too strong and the little decoration at the top was a plus . I also had the Ube tres leches which was also very good! It wasn't too sweet but it was filling, I left half for later. Service was great. Every inch of this place is a photo! It is such an adorable coffee shop right on the main street of Nutley! Ube is really having a moment right now and along with amazing flavor comes with amazing color I mean, did you see my tayaiki?? I've been wanting to check this spot for their ube ice soft serve for a while but we're never really in this area. One day, we were running errands in Clifton so we decided to check this place out after lunch. We got there at around 2:30 on a Sunday. There's not lot but there was street parking. We had the ube soft serve milk tea with boba and is was SO good. Hubby and I shared one but we kind of regretted not getting two and had to really stop ourselves from ordering another one. Next time, I'll have to get the matcha soft serve, and/or get the ube with espresso. I'd imagine that would be like an affogato. But I won't be sharing next time! read more

Great soft serve ice cream with phenomenal flavor. I was really impressed with the flavor and presentation. These ice cream are really authentic. This Ube flavor is one of a kind - a little bit of chocolate, coffee and cotton candy in one flavor. Service is great and the decor is very nicely selected. Really enjoyed my first visit to Kubo. It was pretty busy in there, but the line moves quickly. The decoration inside is really nice making for a cozy visit if you decide to drink your beverage there. The presentation on the drinks is top notch, and the flavor matched it. The cold brew was a perfect t blend and I would definitely get again. If you're stopping in you also gotta try there cracking latte. Any time I see ube on the menu, it's a must have. I was so glad to find this spot since there aren't many great boba spots where I am. I arrived on a Sunday evening, and it was already pretty crowded. There isn't much seating, but it's such a cute spot and well decorated with lots of beverage and dessert options. I got the ube matcha swirl milk tea, and it was a perfect way to end my dinner. My partner got the passion fruit tea. Both were so refreshing and the boba texture wasnt stale like lots of other places. What a great find in Nutley!! Can't wait to come back and try more flavors. read more
My kid and I both had the earl gray sundae and it was delicious. However both only had ice cream around the edge and were hollow in the middle wth. It was really good tho but still come on. Almost $10 per shouldnt be hollow in the middle. read more

This was the fourth time coming to kubo. The last three times the seating area was closed due to COVID restrictions. The atmosphere inside is very fun and bright. I love that they have a ring light to take pictures close to the entrance. There are seats along the side of the counters and in front- limited seating tho. The staff are very friendly! Love that there's a Filipino coffee and creamery in the North Jersey area. I got the ube soft serve with espresso. It's the perfect filipino affogato. Highly recommend! Street parking - or there is a public parking lot behind the store - pay by hour. I went on a Saturday night around 7p and did not have to pay for Street parking which was a bonus! read more

this place is my absolute favorite! Not only is the coffee amazing and the pastries but it's also so aesthetically pleasing! If you love to take photos while enjoying a good cup of coffee this is the spot! They even have a Photo Booth machine! Stopped by Kubo after hearing Steph's Macarons was going to have a pop up with some fun Hello Kitty theme macarons. Kubo has been saved for awhile and I'm glad I was actually able to go. As soon as we entered, we were welcomed in by the gentleman behind the counter. We had ordered the creme brûlée thai tea with boba and a Kubo cold brew and a ube tres leches cake cup. Loved seeing all the ube items. While we waited, we ordered some macarons. Our drinks were made fairly quickly and grabbed a table by the window. There are quite a few tables and chairs and a fun camera booth. Really cool vibe there. I didn't get to try soft serve milk tea but I will def be back again. Love supporting these local Filipino businesses! read more
Heaven on Earth. Kubo is my newest addiction and I hope it stays around for a while. Ube. Soft. Serve. Ice. Cream. Need I say more? Ok, I will. Not only is their ube soft serve fantastic, they have matcha and earl grey tea soft serve as well! You can pair that with some boba and the chewy mochi waffle they serve it with. Ugh! So so soooo good. The mochi waffle is one of my favorite desserts ever, paired with the ice cream? Unbeatable. Their boba is also fantastic as well. I've tried the strawberry Matcha latte and the brown sugar latte. Both were absolutely phenomenal. Pro tip : follow them on Instagram because they post their newest specials and delicious baked goods! I also got to snag a delicious dessert of ube sticky rice and flan for the new year! I predict amazing things for Kubo Coffee and Creamery. With an existing cult following, I learned about this place on @njdotcom's Instagram that acknowledged this Filipino shop as NJ's best ice cream. I've been eager to try it this winter, as a visitor in my home state. Friends and I stopped in for the first time on a Wednesday afternoon and there were already a handful of customers enjoying all the treats Kubo has to offer. After a long look at the menu, my friends and I decided on a strawberry matcha tea, ube espresso and mango float. We all picked at each other's order and got to try the INCREDIBLE flavors of each. I typically don't enjoy Ube-flavored food, but the ube here is rich and creamy. It was delicious. The mango float is premade in an individual jar and still tasted fresh as the graham cracker provided a crunchy texture. This dessert was super flavorful and light. We didn't get to try any pastries as most of them were out by the time we got there around 3pm! The space here is pretty small, but designed so well as every corner is utilized with decor or seating. It's a fun, natural, earthy feel inside. They also have a cool photo station where you can take photos and send them directly to yourselves. Overall, this dessert trip was a huge win - satisfying flavors, novelty experience, patient employees, and a great location in downtown Nutley. I know Kubo will thrive, and I can't wait to try it again! read more
Visited Kubo Coffee and Creamery on a Thursday. I had heard of the shop from an Instagram post saying that they have the best ice cream in NJ. I was with my siblings so we tried a lot of different items, including the Earl Grey bubble tea with soft serve, the ube soft serve with espresso, and the ube bubble tea with soft serve, a hot coffee, and the mango float. The bubble teas were good, the Earl Grey was less sweet, the ube soft serve was sweeter than average, but the standouts were the espresso and the hot coffee. They were surprisingly smooth and had great flavor. The mango float was OK. It reminded me of serradura, with mango jelly. The cafe itself is pretty small, not too much seating. Probably a better idea to do takeout. read more
