As soon as you walk in you a greeted by lovely staff and a full view of their cool wood fire pizza oven/kitchen area. Waitress's were very nice and checked in very often. Watching the chefs/owner make the pizza's while waiting to the aroma of delicious food being prepared was pleasing. Clean restaurant and clean kitchen which is essential for me personally. Now to the food the best part of it all. The Neapolitan style pizza was perfect, thin crispy and very evenly made with sauce/cheese. The meatballs were some of the best I've ever had. Full of flavor, tender beef and rich creamy sauce. The WINGS, wow! I got Bbq but I'm sure any wings will be just as good. GET WINGS. Definitely worth a drive a wait to eat at this fine pizzeria! Do yourself the favor and stop by for your personal experience

Wow, I wish I can rate this place a 6 out of 5. From the service to the food, this place is amazing. Really cute restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. When you approach the restaurant you can already smell the pizza! We ordered meatballs and Caesar salad to start. The meatballs (came in 4s) just melt in your mouth, they were cooked thoroughly and the sauce was delicious. It was also topped with ricotta, a very creamy delicious combination. The Caesar salad was also really good, the dressing had a bit of spice. We ordered 2 pizzas, the Margherita and the hot Julia, which the waiter recommended. Both were so good, but the hot Julia was something else. First of all, decorated so beautifully with the ricotta flowers, but it was a combination of sweet, spicy, and herby. Not to mention the soft dough and perfect sauce. I think I may have found the best pizza in the Nutley/Clifton area!! The restaurant was also very clean, and everyone that worked there was so nice. It is VERY kid friendly, they had high chairs and even plastic plates. They also gave my son a kid friendly cup of water. I went yesterday but I might go again this week! Couple of notes: They only have street parking and they do charge extra for using card to pay. You should make a reservation because they get busy around dinner time.

Hands-down, the best Neapolitan style pizza I have had outside of Italy. Perfectly cooked, some nice char, and the crust was light and fluffy. Friendly staff as well. We had meatballs for an appetizer and they were light and flavorful.

What a great place! Delicious and lovely restaurant where the owner is making pizza right behind you. You could tell his love for food and service goes right into his food. A small dining area inside so make sure to make reservations. Great atmosphere great smells and even better food. Go and get a bunch of different kinds of pizzas!

This is what it was advertised as.

I'm honestly really disappointed because I had a completely different experience ordering from Emilio's Wood Fire Pizza this time compared to my first order on May 9th. The first margherita pizza I ordered was delicious and looked exactly like the photos they advertise online -- fluffy wood-fired crust, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, and overall high quality. That positive experience is the reason I ordered again. Tonight, however, I opened the box and received what looked more like a thin-crust cheese pizza with tiny pieces of what appeared to be spinach scattered on top instead of fresh basil. The crust was thin and flat, not the thick, airy wood-fired dough that is advertised on their website and delivery platforms. The fresh mozzarella was also replaced with grated cheese, which completely changed the pizza. When I called the restaurant, I was told they do "Tavern Thursdays," where the margherita pizza is made differently -- thin crust, grated cheese, and basil sprinkled on instead of the traditional version. My issue is not necessarily that they offer a different style on Thursdays -- it's that this was NOT clearly advertised anywhere on the website or ordering platform where I placed my order. I was instead told that the information is posted on Instagram. That is unacceptable. Customers should not have to check a restaurant's social media to find out that the item they're ordering is completely different from what is being advertised on the actual ordering platform. If the pizza is going to be fundamentally changed one day a week, that should be clearly stated on the website, menu, and delivery apps before checkout. Otherwise, it feels misleading and false advertising. The pizza I received looked nothing like the photos used to advertise the margherita pizza, and not at all like the one I previously received. Really disappointing experience, especially after such a great first order.

I've had/eat a LOT of pizza. The lightness/airiness of Emilio's Neapolitan crust is unmatched. It is literally like biting into a cloud, and I don't know how else to describe it. Pro tip for my fellow dough lovers: at a Neapolitan place, my husband and I always make it a point to save all of our crusts for last, and then ask for olive oil, salt, and pepper so that we can dip our crusts as we eat them. This is UNSKIPPABLE at Emilio's because of the crust's cloud-like quality. You gotta' do it. The crust was obviously my favorite part of this place, but other standouts include the friendly staff, the owner slinging pies, and the unique "Lisa" pie, which is a bar pie made in the Neapolitan oven (have not seen this anywhere else). BYOB, and price is slightly cheaper than comparable establishments. GET THERE! (PS -- they don't say anything about reservations on their website that I could find, but I called and asked, and they accept them -- recommend doing that because there's only a handful of tables!)

Bill C. I have some words for you.... This place deserves EVERY 5 star they received. My sisters and I stopped here on a whim. First things first, this place is so clean. Second the food is absolutely amazing. The italian limonata soda is such a refreshing lemonade soda. They sampled an artichoke dip that (fingers crossed) they really should add to the menu. We used our pizza crust to finish it, thats how delicious it was. We then ordered 3 pies: Hot Julia, Gerbs and herbs, and a mushroom truffle oil pizza. I dont eat mushrooms but that was so good. Lastly, we had a chocolatey hazelnut delightful dessert. 10/10. Everything. The waitresses that tended to us were so friendly. We loved it here and will be returning.

Nutley is truly becoming the next big foodie destination in North Jersey! We loved checking out Emilio's and getting to hang with owner/pizzaiolo Ralph! The pizzas they're cooking up here are top notch, some of the best we've had anywhere. And those wings cooked in the oven are worth a visit on their own! Not only did we devour his wood fire creations, we got to experience first hand how personable he is with everyone who walks in the door - it's no wonder why they have so many regulars! The restaurant is cozy with the wood fire oven as the heart of the space. Thank you to Ralph, Lilli, and Mikey for making us feel like part of the Emilio's family - we can't wait to come back! For me this have been the best pizza I have tried. The person mentioning that people leave fake reviews should understand that every place is not for everybody. I don't know if they update the way they make the pizza but now on this date is just amazing, this is my 3rd time eating from here and never disappointed. I found this place on google and I give it a try because of the good reviews. And the workers are very nice and friendly.

Finally came for the first time since moving to Nutley, absolutely fantastic place! If you like Neapolitan style pizza then Emilio's won't disappoint! The dough had a great bite to it and the flavor combos on the hot Julia pizza were so perfect together. They reminded me of Razza in Jersey City but without the insane reservations! The staff were all super friendly and checked on us all the time, would absolutely recommend and we'll be going back soon!

The real deal Neapolitan pizza. Just bring your favorite wine and enjoy. Attentive, friendly service.

Hot honey, homemade cheese, pepperoni, and fresh basil.

The freshest ingredients I've ever had on pizza. The vegetables are picked from their garden and the flour is imported from Italy. It was a two pie night. Hot honey pizza with pepperoni. The pepperoni covered the entire pizza. It curled up like cups with just the right amount of hot honey inside. Fra diavolo pizza,, peppers everywhere little sweet and heat. It felt like I was eating with family and close friends in their kitchen. We met Chefs family. His sister, Olivia, was our server. We laughed and talked Fra diavolo. It's our favorite. I ate and listened to the ummms fill the air. This is truly a hidden gem. Make a reservation

Great "gourmet" pizza. Well worth the wait on a busy day. If this were in NYC, there'd be a perpetual line outside the door.

Guy seemed overwhelmed and reluctantly took my order. I showed up 30 min later and no one had any record of my order. I recognized the guy's voice and told him he took my order. He was pissed and got into a shouting match with me with 3 other customers around. He eventually apologized and offered a free side of meatballs and spaghetti (don't order that btw, super underwhelming). 2nd time: Wife placed an order for a pie with half pepperoni on their website. Came back with the order and the pie had full toppings. Small nit but annoying. 3rd time: I called at 6pm on a Thursday. No one picked up. Opted to place order on their website and got the same item as last time. Showed up at and the same miserable guy asked for my name and order... and then said he didn't have any order. I told him I placed an order on the website... and he said "You should have called." with an awful (only a mother can love) grin. I showed him my email confirming 6:20pm pickup time and he said he had no order... before pulling a pie with my name on it. I asked if it had half pepperoni and it didn't. Full toppings AGAIN. Clearly, their website is not equipped to actually take half toppings orders. Pizza is OK but not worth the headache or poor service here.

There is no…read moreshortage of pizza, as they have anywhere from 2,000 to 3,000 pizza restaurants using their family recipe to make some of the best pizzas in America. As the third-largest producer of tomatoes in the entire country, this key pizza-making ingredient not only sets New Jersey's classic 'tomato pies' apart from any ordinary pizza. This 10,000-square-foot, two-story establishment with a neon-lit sign on Glenwood Ave in Bloomfield asks, "Just another pizzeria?" They also house a 20-seat speakeasy that's open Thursday through Saturday called the Rab.bit Hole that can be found upstairs behind a hidden entrance. Opened in 2020, Blue Steel Pizza Company is the answer and should become obvious after looking at the menu. A reservation was easily made via Resy. My partner and I were greeted at the host station and got a regular table in the 1st-floor dining room by the pizza oven in the middle. The vibe was modern and industrial. Patrons had to use their phone flashlights to read the menu as the lighting was pretty dim. They are known for their Detroit-style pizza--a pie baked in a rectangular, traditionally blue-steel pan, the kind once used by autoworkers. It's made with a blend of mozzarella cheese and traditional Wisconsin brick cheese that melts down the side of the pie, making for a burnt, gooey, cheesy crust. It's cold-fermented for three days and is closer to sourdough. It has real flavor and an airier texture. It's like a lighter version of a Sicilian with a buttery crust. As a starter, we decided on the Chopped Salad. For our main entrée, we opted for the Jersey Tomato Pizza Pie. Portions run big enough for sharing, and we downed them with the 1911 Cider. The pizza crust was light, airy, and crispy with the right amount of fresh ingredients, making the ensemble tastefully delicious. The staff was attentive, friendly, and accommodating, and our server was Adam. The price was comparable to the area. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend this place.

We spotted Blue Steel which had good, modern curb appeal to our hungry tummies. It looks like downtown Bloomfield is having a moment with some new condos and nicer restaurants coming in. Thanks, gentrification!? Inside has a clubby, bar vibe and we were seated at a hightop near the bar. I love a good wedge salad. I prefer the classic but I appreciate BSP's variation that has tomato, cucumbers, crispy frizzled onions, feta cheese, homemade ranch dressing, and everything sprinkle seasoning. It was generously sized and refreshing. And there's nothing but good things to say about the Detroit-style ezzo pepperoni pie, except that i wish I had a bigger stomach to eat MORE. After the salad (shared), I was only able to manage one slice, but it was a happy slice. My first time trying Detroit-style and it didn't disappoint. PS: There's a tiny, very lumpy and bumpy parking lot in the back that is very tricky to maneuver back out of. If it hadn't been for an Uber driver who got briefly trapped back in there with me, I might still be there today
