The room we were in could have easily accommodated far more. The layout was perfect. Most importantly.... the food was excellent. It was served buffet style. I have come to expect mediocre fare over the years from other venues but Spruce Lodge put out a spread that had the players and parents raving. The chicken parm was delicious and moist! The Caesar salad was fresh and crisp. They had marinated vegetables on skewers that I couldn't stop eating. The steak was superb. I did not have the penne ala vodka but reports from one of our senior players, leading defenseman and known food snob (my kid) said "this is the best I have ever had. Anywhere". The staff was very nice. Special shout out to the bartender- the facility has a nice bar set up in a perfect location adjacent to the banquet area. I forgot to get her name but she was dealing with a bunch of thirsty hockey parents and high school aged boys loading up on. Shirley Temples and Coke. Friendly and fast. Wedding venue in Middletown, New York…read more.. My friend's son had his Wedding Rehearsal and dinner here on a Thursday evening, then had his wedding ceremony and reception here on Pi Day 2025. It was amazing that this venue could accommodate all three events... plus, provide a cocktail party in-between the wedding and reception while the main room was being transformed into a dining area with a dance floor in the middle! At the end of the night, a coffee and cookies station appeared at the exit so guests could grab some snacks for the drive home! That was a nice touch! The staff were very professional and helpful! One of the glass vases tipped over - spilled water and shattered glass were efficiently cleaned up! Thanks so much for a memorable time!

The ceremony was outside and we had a nice cocktail hour afterwards. The food was phenomenal, with passed hors d'oeuvres, mashed potato bar, and a carving station. The bartenders were very nice and accommodating. Some misses during cocktail hour included ice cold broccoli at the mashed potato bar, like they just took it out of the fridge. Some of the passed hors d'oeuvres did not have toothpicks to pick up the items. We adjourned upstairs for the reception and it was beautifully decorated. Our salads were waiting at our seats. The dinner was really good and we were happy with the food and the drinks. Unfortunately, the service was not good at all. I heard that this place shut down their golf course but are trying to open sections back up, so they've mostly been operating as an event space, which likely means they don't have permanent staff. In situations like this, the staff they have are usually doing the very bare minimum, which was noticeable. While the service staff was very nice, most didn't know what they were serving, which was a problem as some in our group had dietary restrictions. At the very least, they should be able to tell you if there's meat or seafood in whatever they're serving. The cocktail hour carving station was held up because the person manning it didn't have a knife. I visited the station three times and only found a steak knife (mixed in with butter knives) on my 3rd round. The servers also did not pass any food to the people standing on line for the bar. They were visiting people thta already were sat, eating food. It would have been nice to have a coconut shrimp while I waited for 10 minutes, for a drink. During the main reception, it took a very long time for them to clear plates and when they brought our first course, they served half of our table and then another person came out with plates and skipped our table, went to a different table, and the other half of ours had to wait until yet another person came out to finish serving. They took our silverware and we had to go to the kitchen to ask for replacements because they were never brought back to us, even when we asked the servers. I accidentally spilled a cup of water that took three of our napkins. I asked for replacement napkins and it took my husband going to the kitchen to to ask but they only had two napkins left and did not even think to offer paper napkins. By the time dessert was served, for at our table left for the evening. When they came around to give cake slices, I asked for one of each, and the server said that they didn't have enough - I pointed out that half of our table was gone so they could definitely allow me a second slice. I'm glad I asked bc the chocolate cake they originally gave me was too sweet for me but the extra vanilla slice was perfect. They left us with our cake and never gave us dessert utensils. We had to scavenge for them, from the place setting of those that left the event. The served coffee with no milk. Several other tables, including ours, had to ask for milk, and it took ridiculously long to get anything. As I said, the wedding was beautiful, the reception was fun, but that was mostly because of the the bride, groom, families, DJ and emcee. The venue, decor, food and grounds, were all great, but the service was so very bad. Hopefully once they've opened on a more regular schedule, they'll have more committed, permanent staff, that will represent the venue better.

It has a beautiful open white room, both upstairs and downstairs. the room upstairs has a beautiful 4 wall bar that is located in the corner, and is used for the open bar. Amanda did a good job answering all of our questions. There were lots of options from having a breakfast/brunch, to a buffet style dinner, or a sit down dinner. We would have went with the sit down option, and they had lots of choices regarding food: A steak, a salmon, and chicken. We did ask what kind of chicken and steak there was and she found out for us. We were also able to pick 4 options of appetizers, and would get salad and pasta, as well as the entree and a cake. I thought it was a beautiful venue with big windows and gorgeous views of the golf course. very pretty. i also like that if we decided to go with this venue, they would offer food tastings so that we know how the food is before booking. restrooms were small with 2-3 stalls, but were very clean. Kudos to Amanda for also following up to my mom's email, where they accommodated a pricing request. Unfortunately, we decided to go with another venue with more food options. However would definitely consider here for another party!

The Ardmore Mansion is a former summer camp that has been renovated and is now a wedding venue…read more There is a small ballroom and several guest rooms in the mansion, a 'barn' (former gym?) that can be used for larger events and summer-cabins for overnight guests. The interior is gorgeous with ornate fireplaces, beautiful moldings and polished wooden floors. The ballroom is somewhat small, but has a wrap-around porch that guests can wander onto. The venue photographs beautifully. The outdoor spaces are not landscaped: it's pretty much grass fields and paved paths. There are structures (outdoor stages, etc) from the former summer-camp scattered around the property. Cocktail hour food is sub-par; consisting of mostly fried selections. I have not attended an event that included 'stations' which suggests that they are cost prohibitive as an add-on to catering packages. There is only one small bar during cocktail hour, so a line forms almost immediately. Dinner entrees are similarly uninspired, consisting of meat, potato and a frozen vegetable blend. The vegetarian entree choice seems to be pasta ..or pasta. The wait staff is friendly and efficient and the event hosts are charming, but the deficiencies in food and drink need to be addressed. The rooms in the mansion are small, with comfortable beds and private bathrooms. However, the rooms are not air conditioned, which can be uncomfortable. There is no staff on the premises after the event ends, even if rooms/cabins are booked with overnight guests. For Summer 2012, room prices were approximately $150/night. Cabin accommodations are fairly rustic, but significantly cheaper than rooms in the mansion. I have not attended an event in the 'barn' but it seems like a unique venue. Overall, Ardmore is a reasonably priced, beautiful venue for hosting an event, which this area desperately needed. However, food and beverage service and accommodations need improvement.

I didn't get much of a look outside either time, because of bad weather. The parking lot is well laid out though. There are two long tows of spots on either side of the main entrance. Then there are more spaces further away. My first visit was remembered by a frenzy to get drink refills, because they ran out of glasses. So we were served cocktails in rocks glasses. But, the service was given with a smile and there was nothing else notably bad. My second visit started out very good. They even had enough glasses during cocktail hour. But then the groom asked me about what I ordered looking very worried. The manager never took note that a few dishes had to be gluten free. They made up for that with a big tray of gluten free brownies by dessert. Plus, the dinners were served gluten free. One thing I really hope they improve is the table service. My server served the dish and then circled the table looking for empty plates to remove. She even stood over us asking if we were finished while others were still eating at the table. We began asking each other to watch our plates. If you looked away your plate was taken! Then when I needed a lemon wedge for my fish my requests for attention were ignored. The best feature of the venue is their staircase. Its the first one you notice when you enter through the main entrance. The big beautiful window at the top makes it look vast.
