Wedding venue in Middletown, New York…read more.. My friend's son had his Wedding Rehearsal and dinner here on a Thursday evening, then had his wedding ceremony and reception here on Pi Day 2025. It was amazing that this venue could accommodate all three events... plus, provide a cocktail party in-between the wedding and reception while the main room was being transformed into a dining area with a dance floor in the middle! At the end of the night, a coffee and cookies station appeared at the exit so guests could grab some snacks for the drive home! That was a nice touch! The staff were very professional and helpful! One of the glass vases tipped over - spilled water and shattered glass were efficiently cleaned up! Thanks so much for a memorable time!

I believe they do offer breakfast for an additional charge, but we ate elsewhere. Once we did have access to the pool we opted to not use it due to overwhelmingly strong stinging sensation from chlorine. Overall location was good, with a Chilis and Starbucks right next door, and we had a short easy drive to Lego land the following morning. Not a bad place to stay if you need a night or two in this area.

It was very convenient as it was about a mile and a half from the wedding venue. It had free parking and Wi-Fi. We were able to walk to a diner nearby. The room had a microwave, refrigerator, and iron with ironing board! The shower was great and the bed was comfortably! The young guy at the front desk was much nicer than the older woman - especially in regards to the goodie bags. Yes, we understand that you're following the rules - one goodie bag per room. There was one young gal at breakfast time that could be friendlier, too. She was a bit snappy as she cleared plates from our private farewell room. The food was quite good! The groom's "get ready" room had chips, sandwiches, canned sodas, and wraps while the bride's "get ready" room had fresh fruits, sausages, scrambled eggs, cereal, and mimosas... LOL! We all had fun together in a safe, clean environment... that's the main thing!

Unfortunately for the bride and groom, it was incredibly rainy so we didn't get to experience the pretty grounds and an outdoor ceremony. The did a lovely job setting up the ceremony in the reception area of the tent. Upon entering the tent, guests were greeted with a drink wall that included 3 cocktails. We hung out in the cocktail side of the tent until we were showed to the ceremony space. When you hear tent you think, is it going to be comfortable? I have to say this one was. While I thought it was a bit warm when we first entered, it cooled off as the night went on. The draping and chandeliers are beautiful and the room is spacious as is the dance floor. The cocktail hour included maybe 7 stations, each with it's own theme and cocktail to pair with the food. For example the sushi station offered saki and Japanese beer. There were also passed hor'dourves. The food was pretty good and the bartenders made great drinks. Dinner started off with a grilled peach salad. For the entree the NY Strip was a hearty portion; some were cooked better than others, served with lovely asparagus and mashed potatoes. It included a Rosemary sauce which was kind of overpowering. After the cake cutting, they opened the cocktail are back up and it transformed into a dessert room. S'mores, sundaes, pastries, churros they had it all. They also had a dessert martini table and they made an excellent espresso martini shaken to order. All the staff we encountered was wonderful and friendly. Even though the rain may have put a damper on the original plans, West Hills did a fabulous job making sure the day was still amazing.

Staff is very nice and the hotel is in a pretty good area with stuff to do…read more Pleasently clean Only issues I've had in our room at least is the air conditioning in the room is fairly loud and is right next to the tv so you essentially have to have the tv at movie theater level sound, the fan in the bathroom is so loud it sounds like the Death Star laser firing at Alderaan, and the fire alarm has gone off about 10+ times in the 3 weeks I've stayed here for work. 1 of which we actually had to evacuate for so I'm assuming the alarms are bugged/short circuiting or something. Oh, and the breakfast is very weak. Unless you love waffles, toast, and bagels.

We went to visit a few locations, and searched many more online for days on weeks. It was when we stumbled upon this venue that we knew our search was over. Owls Hoot Barn checked off every box we wanted in a wedding venue. There were even factors we had not necessarily considered in a venue that OHB was and to deliver without fail. The grounds of venue - gorgeous, the owner and her entire family/team - most amazing people you can find, decor and supplies - everything we wanted and needed, overall experience - exactly what you would expect when you think of a small piece of paradise/heaven! And this also includes the fact that our beloved pups were allowed to be on the grounds and partake in our special day! The owner of the venue, who was also our wedding coordinator, went above and beyond to help us arrange everything we needed to make it wedding perfect. Even going as far to come back on site for our rehearsal dinner during her own wedding anniversary! How many people would be willing to do that? Her passion for ensuring every couple out there sees their vision fulfilled is truly one that is undeniable and unique. We could not have pulled this off, let alone reduce our wedding planning stress significantly, without her help. My now wife, our current (and future pups) and myself now have found a place we don't just refer to as a hidden gem, but a small place we can call another home. For any future couples out there, whether you are considered local or coming from another state of the U.S. entirely, you will fall in love with OHB. My wife probably would think I shouldn't leave too long of a review as some people might think "that one is too long to read" but I can't help express how much we truly were blessed with this place...so much that even to this day we joke about doing it all over again just to relive our wedding weekend back in October 2025. The old barn dates back to the 1700s and is the perfect setting for a rustic country wedding. We stayed through Harvest Hosts, but they also rent cabins, a farmhouse, RV spots, and a glamping barn. The property also has a wood-fired sauna, cold plunge, and a creekside swimming hole--such a relaxing and memorable stay!
