Being my neighborhood, grocery store, I want to love this place. They have a tremendous selection of anything you could imagine in the isles. The produce section is very limited, but always fresh. They are premade subs and pizzas are delicious. The ambience of the grocery store is of a well-stocked and well-maintained. Store shelves are always full and everything is neat and tidy. Where they consistently missed. The mark is in service. I called to order some of their party platters and the person on the phone side and told me to call back later and they'd figure it out. I called back later to the same response. I called back a third time at their request and the response was, "Yeah, I guess we can do that." At that point, I informed them that I didn't want their service. I have had one cheerful and helpful cashier. Been to kuhns three times for one specific thing. Pita chips, Filo dough, mashed potatoes. Each time I've needed to ask an employee for directions to those items. They gave me a deer in headlights look. They say no I don't know where it is, and then they turn to walk away so I have to interrupt and say, but you will find out right And their reply is delayed "oh OK". I find this establishment is customer oriented all the time. I live local and no matter the time of day or day of the week, I always get great service. Their deli is good, and I know they have difficulty finding good help, but most establishments are dealing with the same situation. Their shelves are already stocked and a great selection of fresh meat. I own dogs, and I find their dog food is cheaper than anywhere else! I've never had a bad issue with Kuhn's, if I bought something and opened it a few days later at home and something was wrong with the item, if you had your receipt you got your money back in a couple minutes. If no receipt they went and got you a new one for you to replace it. There meat and deli departments always have good selections, if the dairy isle was out of something, they would take my name and # and call me when they had it in. Quality of food is lack luster. Have gotten quite a few produce items that end up finding out were spoiled already and shouldn't have been on the shelves. (Wilted lettuce, expired milk/dairy, moldy angel food dessert cups) super disappointing as it is close but the prices are high for food that isn't great quality. I purchased milk from from Hopewell Kuhn's on March 28, 2020. When I got home I noticed it had an expiration date of March 3, 2020. I was highly upset. Huge inconvenience. When I called the store I received poor customer service. I was hung up on twice by the same associate! After returning the items to the store the associate told me it came in to the store past the expiration date!!!!! Why would they put it on the shelf??? When I contacted corporate on Saturday I left a voicemail. No response as of yet. This is Thursday morning, I will contact corporate again! I have read a couple reviews stating that they sell expired items. I'm thinking that they are getting these expired items at a very low cost and then trying to sell them off to paying customers such as myself at regular price!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! Great store if it's 1950 again. No fresh fish, only frozen. Pre half-melted ice cream. B quality meats. C quality produce. C quality prices. A quality real people checking you out. No, not that way. Most unfriendly staff I've encountered; although the checkout staff are extremely courteous. I'll start with the butchers; every one of those guys have been rude to me at one time or another. Today I experienced a rude clerk at the deli. She barely acknowledged I was there and when she saw me, made eye contact and continued whatever she was doing. I was the only customer at the counter and had to get her attention to wait on me. In the past I've experienced 2 rude women at customer service. I've been avoiding this store for the above reasons and only shopped there today to get the Isaly's chipped ham. Before they closed their store in Moon, I shopped there even though Hopewell was miles closer. A manager/owner needs to see what's in the water in that location. read more

I love the bakery at Kuhn's on Brodhead Road! I have gotten the last 3 cakes from there for our retirement parties and they have been delicious, and beautiful. The ladies that do the decorating go out of their way to make sure to please the customer with their expertise. Try one of their cakes, you will be glad you did!!!! read more
