Others included David in sales who demystified the process, Varon who coordinated with the utility to ensure we met all requirements, and Gino, who collaborated with Maxwell Power (formerly HDM Renewable Finance), the clean-energy company that helped finance our residential system. On site, the design and install team did a great job keeping things simple. The entire system, including battery and thirteen panels, was installed according to Ramiros's expert design within just four hours. Good quality hardware was used to tie to the roof, which was inspected by our roofer and given a big thumbs up for not causing problems. But even before that, David our site survey tech, gave us the sense that all would proceed well, as he collected necessary data by drone, and made a favorable first impression with his personable approach. Toward the end of the multi-month process, which included time to get a new roof installed, we passed city inspection with YES tech, Dario, an extremely courteous young man, present to ensure we made it through that last step and PTO (permission to operate). YES has an excellent and well-deserved reputation because of these people and others who worked on our behalf. The company can do better automating some of the process, and to be fair, they say they are working on transitioning to a CRM software solution for this purpose. But, I can say that over a period of several months, I had excellent communication with many helpful people. Skyler in customer service was my primary contact and that made all the difference. We contacted the business in late July of last year to see about installing a solar system on our home before the end of the year. Within in days, Alessandro was here to meet us in person and provided us with a comprehensive breakdown for solar options and pricing. We loved that we were treated like actual people instead of a number in a queue. Given that there was a slight backlog of jobs they had to work through we were assured that we would have our system fully installed and activated before the end of the year, which we did! It was great working with Nick who was our onsite rep and Juan was always available to answer any questions we had by phone (of which I had many). Despite the number of times I called, he was always patient with me and provided detailed answers that gave me a better picture of our installation and how our system would operate moving forward. I can't say enough about how amazing the whole process was. I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. He also walked me through: Proper panel selection within voltage and amperage limits Safe string configurations and series wiring How to maximize roof space while staying within code Permitting requirements I hadn't been told about before On top of that, Carlos identified critical code and safety requirements that no one else mentioned: Bollards required in the garage to protect battery units Correct battery placement to maintain required clearance from doors and entrances Heat detector requirements for battery installations in a garage These are all things that would have caused inspection failures later -- and Carlos caught them immediately. He spent well over an hour with me, climbed onto my roof to check for obstructions, inspected battery placement, reviewed wiring paths, and answered every question in detail without ever rushing me. Carlos was able to turn around a detailed quote very quickly, and when I received it, I was honestly surprised -- it was a significant amount lower than every other quote I received, even though his evaluation was by far the most thorough. After looking at a photo of the inverter setup, he patiently walked me through the workings of the system and reassured me we should not encounter any immediate issues with our current system. He informed us his company sells that same inverter, so if anything did go wrong, it would be a simple matter to switch out the old box and replace it with a new one. Not one time have they came out. They installed my whole service incorrectly. They came out after fighting with them to reduce panels. The installers damaged my gutters and roof, they tried to say they did a panel upgrade and lied to me and said it was done and they did was add a disconnect from my existing panel in my garage. Not knowing I am a electrician lol. That was another fight until they finely hired someone to do the work. Oh they also left all the materials they used to install panels on my roof and in my gutters. Nails, conduit, strut, and clamps. My solar went out and there is no notification to bket you know. It was out 3 months before I found out. Called them and was told its on me I should check the app everyday. I did a hard reset sbs looked on YouTube for help. That was 2024. Now my solar is out again for 29 days and won't connect. Called a week and a half ago I told the lady please have a tech come because ive made this call about 6b tires and not one tube had a tech come out.bshevsaid f I r sure got an email confirmation and all for last Monday. Come to find out, they overcharged us by a significant amount and gave us an older inverter and did not actually recommend enough panels. We didn't do our research but shame on them for not being ethical. Our true up bill has been about $600 each year so that is expected and still saving us money even with the over charge and too few panels. However starting in 2024 things changed. The timeline of failures: 2024 System Failure: The system was completely offline for multiple weeks over the year, causing our utility true-up bill to increase from ~$600 to over $2,000. Delayed Service: We reported the outage in December 2024. Service was not completed until April 2025, extending the period of failed production. April 2025 Service & New Failure: Technicians restored solar production on April 11 but caused the system's battery to fail, rendering it useless for backup or consumption. (We requested the battery to be switched to max consumption which never happened so we have been losing money from that as well.) September 2025 Catastrophic Failure: During a battery replacement, the technicians caused an electrical short that destroyed the inverter. The system is now completely inoperable with zero production from solar or battery. Ongoing Impact: A replacement inverter is not expected until December 2025, exposing us to further excessive utility costs from 100% grid consumption - literally it's as if we have no solar but we are still paying our monthly loan amount and paying for all the power from the grid. Management continues to deny any compensation for lost production, stating they don't guarantee performance issues. There are no performance issues, literally there is zero performance as there is no inverter and no battery. Do not buy from this company, as you can see from BBB and other reviews they are not to be trusted!!!
