My son has been attending Kung Fu classes here for several years. He started as a beginner. From the start, they made him feel welcome. They have helped him develop his focus and attention. He is a different child in the studio and after a class. The teachers are patient and are there to help develop the whole child - mind and body - through the principles of King Fu. My son has also gained confidence and leadership skills. They truly believe and exemplify the Kung Fu beliefs through their actions and teachings. I found this gem of a school after being dx with osteoporosis and being told by my Doctor to take Tai Chi. The teachers are professional, highly talented, very well versed in Kung Fu and Tai Chi as well as in significance of each form and each Qi gong movement/meditation. This studio is so much more than a studio. I am finding community, lovely people and a great life-long practice. Kung Fu Connection provides kids classes in Kung Fu, and group and private adult classes in Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Chi Gong (breath work). I've gained an infinite amount of experience since joining here 6 years ago. I've grown out of my shell, and gained confidence and skills that benefit me now and for the future. Although dangerous when used as a defensive mechanism, it remains a beautiful and sacred art. If you're looking to gain strength, flexibility, and the confidence needed to defend yourself, I highly recommend coming here. This is my favorite place to be. The place for "me" time. I've practiced traditional Chinese martial arts for over 20 years. When I moved to Miami I was looking for a place and found Sigung Rubio who is the real deal who cares about his lineage and offers his students what he knows. His classes are rigorous and I always get a lot out of them. When I have an off day he is there with encouragement and instruction or a kind word. I also took classes with Sifu Rigo, who pushed me to be as good and to do as much as I could. Great facility, wonderful instruction, and a family to grow with. After being diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis I thought I would never be able to train again but Kung Fu Connection change that. Thanks to them I am stronger, more confident, and every day I feel like MS is less and less of obstacle. This isn't some kind of McDojo or martial arts hobbyist trap. I came in a few times, didn't have good transportation, left town before leaving I called to inform them about this and I was told that not they're problem and I needed to find someone else to take my place there was no refunds which I never asked for only to stop taking money from my account. This happened Thanksgiving wk and I have not been there since and we're now in March a new year and they are still taking money & I have not been there for months. I feel that when I called and spoke with Alice she was very nasty and augmentative. Months I have not been there & she said she doesn't know who handles the financial part of the company. I just started taking Kung Fu here with my two kids (ages 9and 11). I take the beginner adult class and the kids do their class... This is a true gem of a find!! None of us have ever done any martial arts before and we came across this unassuming studio fortuitously. As soon as we walked in we felt as though we were in a Chinese temple... The energy here is very positive and strong. Everyone who works here has an amazing and kind way about them. Training with masters of this art, they are all very humble, patient, and expect nothing less than your best. It's becoming a wonderful journey and transformation for all of us.... This is the best thing that could have happened to my son. He has been coming for almost 2 years since he was 4 yrs old, and his behavior, focus, and respect have drastically changed, for the better. Kung fu extends beyond the school walls into everyday life and the teachers make sure to instill that on the students all the time. Meditation and respect to teachers and parents is an integral part of the curriculum. It is a great school and they all care so much about the students. You can tell they know their stuff and it is the legitimate ancient teaching. I am very happy to have found this school, a gem among hundreds of other less ancient martial arts. I am a little sad that they moved only because it is a bit less convenient for me. I am so happy and jealous of my son's progress that im ready to sign up myself!
