I discovered this cute little spot after bringing my new little baby to Daycare. Previously I wouldn't frequent the area but I'm happy I saw it. There is a nice parking lot so no trouble getting in and out. I love bubble teas so I was excited to try the ones here. I asked for suggestions since I'd never been before. The last was helpful but I took one star because the info given was a bit wrong. I'm not supposed to have dairy so I asked if there were other options like almond milk or something. The lady told me that they use milk powder so it isn't dairy....I mean I was a little slow for believing that but I think she should understand her product a little better because it's still very much dairy...my breastfed baby knew the difference. lol Besides that little mishap, my tea was really good. I like that there are some tables inside although several of the chairs could use an upgrade. The cushions looked dirty. I ordered the almond bubble tea. What a cool place! My daughter told me about Kung Fu Tea after going there with a friend recently. It seems that for her it was love at first taste. She has been going on and on about their vast array of teas, so I agreed to take her for another visit after school yesterday. They're located on West Esplanade near Causeway Blvd. and share a lot with a few other businesses in the strip mall. Parking was easy. I don't know why parking is always such a huge issue with, me but it is. Wait, yes I do know why. It's because I suck at parking and am too lazy to walk if there isn't scenery to look at on the way. So inside, the space is bright and cheery. There are posters, chalkboards and a menu board that list and explain the different bubble teas, slushes, milk strikes and other drinks they serve. You can choose to make your own creation or choose one of the bunch listed. My daughter went with an Oreo Slush which was pictured on a poster near the front door. The process was quick, the employees were very friendly and most of all the slush was delicious!! I shared because I didn't want to ruin my appetite before dinner, but next time I'm getting my own. read more

Great place for all things BUBBLE TEA. I can honestly say, the menu is a tad bit overwhelming. I mean there are slushies, tea-based drinks, non-dairy drinks and the list goes on and on. Where's the cheat sheet? Then let's not even talk about the toppings (wide eyed stare). I can honestly say, "I wasn't ready..." Thankfully, the friendly cashier took the time to assist me with narrowing my selection; this was great because I didn't want to delayed other customers. My wait was very short & I was glad because I was ready to taste my concoction. I found the cup sizes to be drastically different, which is a good marketing scheme. $4.75 for 8oz or just a quarter more for a 12oz; .25¢ for four more ounces... Which do you choose? No worries, we all know the answer. But keep in mind, most drinks are filled with ice... So there goes your .4oz & 25¢ more. Also they charge for the tapioca... I guess this made the norm as it's my 2nd time encountering such. I also noticed, this seems like a hangout place; as I waited for my drink, I noticed some of people just chilling and watching movies etc on the iPad, as well as families dining/drinking in. This is a rare novelty to see, the families "dining/drinking in" as most folks are always 'on-the-go'. Shared parking lot with ample space. Well guess what, I gotbit anyway! Nyah nyah! This was my first time here. I was looking for boba tea and my usual place (Saigon Bistro) was closed. So we googled boba tea and this joint popped up. Looked up the menu online. The menu can be confusing if youre not familiar with the assortment of beverages they have. It can take a min so read it over carefully. Teas come hot/cold/ slushy/ with or with out fruit, tapioca balls etc. We ordered mango slush with fruit and tapioca balls, coffee milk with green tea, taro slush with oreos, and oreo slush. Everything was as expected and very filling. Coffee milk with green tea had a strong earthy taste but a yummy after taste. Taro slush with Oreos was actually pretty good. How can you go wrong Oreos anyway. Larges cost around $5.25 and regulars cost around $4.25. So pricing is not too high. The store itself is open to take orders and you can call in. I think I have a love hate relationship with this place. I feel like the drinks used to be more consistant. Now, it feels as if it just depends on your luck on who is working that day. I usually request 50% sweet and regular/more ice on my drinks and on several occasions they have come up w/ different ratios. What remains consistant is the texture of their boba, which is why I feel like they are worth 3.5 stars. My favorite is the Honey Oolong Tea and the Yakult Grapfruit. The next thing that has changed is their service. I feel like their service used to be more friendly and now when you walk in it's pretty awkward feeling, especially if you do a mobile pickup. They are probably plagued with a shortage of workers like every business, so the best routine I have learned is to wait by the pickup counter and try to get one of the staff member's attention. Otherwise, If you are polite like me, prepare to wait about 5-10 minutes. The sit down areas have not reopened yet, but there is a bench outside if would like to sit and hang around. I love that we finally have one here in New Orleans and bonus that it's open late! Definitely the best boba spot in New Orleans. I know in other cities on the west coast, people tend to prefer sharetea over kung fu, but here in NOLA, kung fu takes the cake! The drinks are enough to satisfy my boba craving, and the actual boba bubbles (which I'm a bit particular about) are much better here--soft and not too overdone or underdone (though can sometimes err on the side of underdone), with a slight hint of sweetness. Sharetea's boba bubbles in comparison aren't bad, but just aren't as consistent or have as good flavor/texture as kung fu. If you're looking for good boba in New Orleans, definitely come here. Due to Covid, they are operating on to-go orders only as all of the chairs and tables are unavailable for use. I was able to order my usual Yogurt Green Tea and received it pretty quick. However, as I have mentioned in my other KFT reviews, I wish there's consistency in the way they cook their boba among all the franchises. I can't get enough of KFT! I always always make it a point to come here every time I'm in NOLA because no other boba around BR and NOLA area compares. The best part about KFT drinks is that you are able adjust the amount of sweetness. The variety of drinks are endless and though I venture out from time to time, my go-to is the honey milk tea and honey milk green tea. Like what is in those drinks? It is highly addictive and if they opened a location in Baton Rouge it would be game over for me. And the boba is just!! Omg so chewy and oh so good. It is QUALITY! Let me tell you! I'm a real BOBA consumer! I've only tried a few places here in New Orleans but the best to me by far is here at Kung Fu Tea. I had never heard of Kung Fu tea before coming from NOR-California and at first I was skeptical but, honestly I've never had a better Taro Milk tea anywhere! Also I'm lactose intolerant and they use a milk substitute in there drinks that are lactate free. I would recommend 1000 times. Constantly trying KFT and constantly feeling the same. Blah. Is it bad? No. Is it "OMG delicious!"? No. It's just whatever honestly. So many people love this place and rave about it. I just feel like most of the drinks I tried were either too sweet or it just didn't have much of a strong flavor profile. I wanted to love it, I really did. I just find it "okay". If someone asks me to come back, I wouldn't mind going with them. If I had to get in my car and go myself? I don't find it worth it. Major complaint: paying extra for toppings and it's skimpy. I love the herbal jelly but literally only get like two pieces of the jelly. The boba is inconsistent. It's either too chewy or too mushy, some perfect days here and there. You know what they say about someone with a big straw...? They have a big drink. This place was exceptionally clean when I came in. The employees helped me make a selection as all the topping can be confusing, but I eventually managed. In Orlando we call the tapioca bubbles Boba and they have these type of shops all over the place. It's great to see a little bit of that diversity here in Metairie. I had the Carmel macchiato with boba and it was packed with flavor. Finally some good tea! We came in late Tuesday night before they were about to close! Luckily, there wasn't a wait. My friends who come literally every week - recommended the "Winter Melon Tea" add pudding and bubbles! These come in a med or large cup. The bubbles are the tapioca balls, a bit tender and chewy (def fresh), but they put an overwhelming amount - so next time I'll ask for less! Okay, THE PUDDING (a must) - its like the consistency of flan, very delicate delicious bites! This is a great hangout space for friends to come and catch up!
