Nice to have a milk tea spot in Chalmette. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken was pretty tasty and was seasoned well. I also ordered the Takoyaki and thought it tasted better than some restaurants in nola. I tried the Green milk tea and it wasn't too bad. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if I'm in the area, I'd def stop by for a quick snack and drink. The service was pretty quick and staff was really friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside was a simple cute vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Come check it out if you live in the Chalmette area.

Took my youngest on a "Mommy-Daughter" date to cheer her up since dropping her sister off at college she's been down and she's such a Boba girl so I found this lil gem on Yelp. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a lot smaller than the previous pictures lead me to believe but still very cute![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Let me tell you this was the perfect pick me up for my baby she was in heaven.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She got the Oreo one, I got the watermelon one (we both wish we would've chosen the extra sugar option. I had to go back and get the colorful fruit black tea with extra sugar and it was perfect. Tip: if you want it COLD get the extra ice option too. Without it it's just blah and room temperature. She of course loved the hot Cheeto mozzarella stick, the wings while skimpy with the sauce were PERFECTLY cooked and tasty. It would help if they separated and labeled what flavor was what instead of just dumping them in a box (since I had these two before at other place I could tell the difference) we got half Soy Garlic and the other half Honey Garlic. The Ramen we had was also a lil bland. It wasn't really missing flavor more so needed a lil more salt and spice but it wasn't bad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The claw machine was a fun touch she eventually got something on the 3rd try lol that machine is a tad bit rigged[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (as most of them are; you know you get something but when the claw hits the top of the machine it drops it because of that "bang") coins are available for purchase at the counter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have board games and uno available which was fun to do while we waited on her dad to pick us up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also need to give the option on the kiosk to select your order is for dine in (we had to put our ramen together) that's why the pic isn't that cute. But overall we had a great little time and will definitely return.

Very Mid-Tier Ramen. I ordered chicken and this definitely is pork. Nice look on the inside tho!

She said it was really, really good! She could've had bananas as well but she doesn't like them. Would definitely return. Mom and pops spot so no big crowds but a few people or small group is ok. I called in my to go order and the person who took my order was nice. I ordered the grilled fish and shrimp which came with 2 sides. I got the green beans and side salad. I wanted Italian dressing, but they don't carry it so I settled on balsamic vinaigrette. She told me it'd probably be about 15 mins and since I live about 10 or so minutes away, I hopped in the car after I got off the phone and drove there. There were a few customers dining in but it wasn't very busy. My food was ready and sitting at the counter, so I paid and went home to eat. It was a nice sized piece of fish and a good bit of shrimp. Fish flavor was good but shrimp flavor was just okay. House salad and green beans both had pieces of bacon in them so I tried to avoid that as I ate. I believe the total was about $26 or $27. Overall it was just ok in my opinion. Some of the other items on the menu may taste better. I may try something else from them one day.

From the minute we walked in we felt so welcome. Everyone was friendly and our server, Daniela, was awesome! She called us "baby" and I'm here for all of that! The restaurant is colorful and happy inside which was so nice and comfortable. Our coffee cups were never empty. Food was delicious! I had the fried catfish with eggs and grits and my fiancé had the fried crawfish breakfast. Biscuits were wonderful and the Aebelskivers (pancake fried dough) they have were incredible!! Highly recommended! Yes we ordered too much food and we were not mad about it! Awesome little homey restaurant with very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect brunch spot for the morning and early afternoon. Dining room was well lit and clean. Unisex bathroom with changing table for the little ones was also clean! Cant wait to come back!

There was a casual, welcoming, as well as comfortable atmosphere to the place. Bacon Praline. Chef's kiss. This was the best bacon I have ever had! It was satisfyingly crispy, absolutely mouthwatering, expertly candied, topped with a generous dusting of praline, giving it an additional sweet taste and adding another layer of deliciousness to it. For my brunch meal, I ordered the Smothered Smoked Pork Chops with potatoes, eggs, and biscuit. The Pork Chops were tender with great smoky flavor, while the accompanying white, savory sauce was tasty and well seasoned with bits of meat. It was just a bit too fatty for me. Potatoes were also yummy, cooked perfectly, and slightly crispy. I requested the eggs to be fried over hard, and it was a bit weird, because the yolk seemed to be mixed in. It was also a little bland. Biscuit was too dry. Overall, this was a nice place to have brunch. Service was solid. The waitress was super friendly and everything came out in a timely manner. I would consider returning just to get the Bacon Praline again! I was also intrigued by the Waffle and Duck Hash with sweet potato, so want to try that dish.

We didn't take advantage of a late night beignet, but it's good to know Gerald's is open 24/7. This place was a hit with the kids and adults alike. The inside decor is like one of those old school donut shops from the '80s and makes you feel right at home. The staff is friendly, even amidst how busy it can become, and were handling a parade-heavy weekend like pros. That's all on top of the affordability. I'm not sure why there are so many low reviews because, imho, Gerald's is top notch.
