More importantly, the food was everything you want. Great flavor. The ribs were firm, but pulled off the bone with little resistance. The pork was flavorful and juicy. Their chips are great as a table snack. I will absolutely be back to this little hidden gem.

Yelp reviews are important to us, and should be important to management. Reviews are all over the place: "They always mess up my order and are not friendly at all. Food is so - so tables are rarely cleaned off from previous customers" and "Best barbecue ribs in Dayton. Their sauce is amazing! Will definitely be back." We found very enthusiastic wait staff with counter service; no beer or wine sales. Seems to service local take-out area, and Old Hickory BBQ does a great Wednesday dinner with a $12.00 meal. Ambience is take-out counter service. Ribs have little meat in bone and little taste. Ribs are overpowered with sauce. The small dining area is that of a fast food restaurant. Old Hickory BBQ ribs were not the best in Dayton, and we recommend Hickory BBQ on Brown Street. Thus far, Zink's in Centerville, OH is the clear winner in BBQ.
