It's about getting the order right. We ordered P3 Pork with Garlic Sauce, egg fried rice, egg rolls and spring rolls. When he showed me the ticket on pick up, it was all there. When I got home it was chicken and vegetables, about 6 bean sprout, 2 carrot pieces, microscopic egg flakes here and there. No egg rolls. We have been here a number of times. We also did carry outs. We recommend eating there if you can as carrying out can sometimes not be as good. Usually the food is good, either way you eat there or out. What we have discovered is that when the owner is there (lovely woman), the food is outstanding. Again, their food is good and you will be happy with it. But, again, for whatever reason, when she is there, it is even better. We also LoVE that they can make dishes gluten free and still taste really good. Finally, a Good Ethnic Restaurant -- With Some Caveats A neighbor recently told me about what they considered the best restaurant they've eaten at in The Villages -- a Chinese restaurant. They were so impressed on their first visit that they brought another neighbor along the second time, someone who owns a fine‑dining restaurant and is essentially a Michelin‑level chef from Washington State. He loved his dish as well, which definitely raised my expectations. Today, my spouse, two friends, and I decided to give it a try. As someone Asian, I'm not easily impressed by restaurants claiming to serve "authentic" Asian cuisine. I look for specific flavors, presentation, and a level of authenticity that matches the culture they represent. When I walk in, I look at what people are eating and who's working in the kitchen and dining room. Our server greeted us with a very thick accent and struggled to understand our questions about the menu. We found ourselves repeating things several times, which made ordering a bit challenging. When I began placing my order, I told him my first dish -- Shrimp Mei Fun -- and before I could continue, he immediately turned to my spouse for his order. I had to stop him and let him know I wasn't finished. The food came out quickly, but during the wait, no one checked on us or offered drink refills. When one of our friends' dishes arrived, the server said something none of us understood, and she seemed frustrated that we didn't respond. Our friend eventually realized the dish was meant for her -- except it wasn't what she ordered. She asked for Kung Pao Chicken but received General Tso's. She decided to keep it, and fortunately, everyone else's orders were correct. Now, the food itself? Delicious. Truly. If I were rating only the dishes, this would be a solid 5‑star review. But service matters, and unfortunately, the service fell short in several ways -- communication issues, no follow‑ups, and an incorrect order. Because of that, the best I can give is 3 stars. I would return, but only for takeout -- and I'd double‑check the order before leaving. Just finished up at the Quest Diagnostics lab; it was noontime and we were feeling a need for Chinese food. As usual the restaurant was quite busy, although we experienced no delay in being seated. We decided to reprise an earlier meal that we had really liked: The appetizer that consisted of eight pieces of batter dipped, deep fried chicken wings and drumsticks. My wife and I split this order of appetizer between the two of us for lunch, and we each had a cup of hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup needed to be warmer, but it had its usual rich and luxurious flavor. For added taste enjoyment, I asked for a small bowl of the house chili oil to add to my H/S soup. Surprisingly packed for a Chinese restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. That's a good sign! Luckily we got a booth before the 5pm crowd. For a starter, I highly recommend the Won Ton Soup, super flavorful. The Pu Pu Platter was just so-so, I would not order again, I left it half eaten. I enjoyed my Mongolian Beef, no leftovers! We just moved to The Villages a few months ago and I was going to start experimenting making Chinese food at home because we didn't know if a good place to go. So we tried Kung Fu chef and ordered the cashew chicken to share. Let me tell you it was very flavorful and the portion was great. Maybe not for two people but for one it's plenty. We also ordered hot tea but if you order hot tea specify which kind you want from the menu before they go to get it, otherwise you'll get black tea. I thought we were getting a green tea but they offered to change it out but I just said no I didn't specify so that was fine. read more

Horrible experience for this dinner and maybe it was a one off however my party of 5 have expressed it will be awhile before they return or even if they return!! There was significant wait time to place our our and an even longer time to receive or dinners which where brought out 1 item at a time with 5-10 minute intervals between. My dinner was the last one to be brought to me only after realizing the server has served my dinner of Beef Broccoli to another table. So not only had my party had all their food but another table - 1 person had their food and the rest of their party had none! items ordered: Walnut Shrimp - tasted of stale Fried Shrimp with overcooked Walnuts over a bed of lettuce Bang Bang Shrimp - Dry Sauced Shrimp over a bed of lettuce Garlic Beef - Overly Sweet tasting - not sure why Broccoli Beef - Had no flavor & certainly did not "taste" of Broccoli Beef Our table was not the only table to have issues this night. I noticed one table has completed their dinner and had to wait 15 minutes to get their check and another table their dinners were missing food items. That table had another destination to get to and had not time to eat their food, since their food took as long as ours and asked for to-go containers. It was recommended to us as the best Chinese around. The food was very fresh and the place was super clean and very busy. It's a smallish place with maybe 12 booths and some tables in between. Takeout was super busy too. People who order takeout have to walk thru the restaurant to pick up. They probably need to figure out a better option for that. I got a big glass of Pino grigio for $6.50 and we got a pu pu platter and I ordered Sesame chicken dish which came with won ton soup and a spring roll. Something has changed. We used to go here quite often but lately they have really been off. Im not sure if they have changed staff or exactly what's up. The service is not the same because when they finally take you order they seemed really impatient. A major issue is the distancing between the tables on the right. They are so close you sliding your buttocks onto the table next to you. It really is ridiculous to be sitting so close you're almost part of the conversation next to you. Good selection of food on menu - the wontons in my soup were excellent - the spring roll was mushy inside and tasteless - I had the shrimp with Lobster sauce one of my favorite dishes the shrimp were big and tasty the sauce I had never had it so thick before and it was lacking taste / fried rice was an extra charge and not worth it .
