Went with a group. Seated promptly around the grill . The chef puts on a show while cooking. Most people had a Hibachi menu item. Our food was quickly prepared and tasty. My granddaughter loves Japanese food, so we weren't surprised when she wanted to go to a Japanese Restaurant for her 5th birthday. My son made reservations as there were 32 of us attending. Even with the reservation, we had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. But that was okay, they were absolutely packed, people were lined up out the door. They were able to seat us all together and that was what mattered It was very dark in there, so I didn't take any photos of the decor. However, it was very nice. Our chef was good, but there wasn't very much fanfare that you normally would expect at a Japanese restaurant, which was a little disappointing. I believe that was because they were so busy they were basically trying to get people in and out as quickly as possible. As for the food, it was very good. I had the filet mignon and it was yummy, I just wish the cuts had been a little bigger instead of baby size. The rice, noodles, veggies and yum yum sauce were very good. We also were there during happy hour, so drinks were two for one. I got the White Russian, and it was very alcohol forward. Overall, we had a nice experience here. My only ding was for not having the usual fanfare from the chef, which is what my granddaughter wanted for her birthday dinner. Other than that, I would definitely recommend that you give them a try. read more

Service is always perfect and so is the food. The appetizers, sushi and happy hour is a big reason we come here also. There is a variety of sushi and kitchen appetizers to try. Good sized portions and reasonable lunch and dinner prices as well. The kind of place where you want to try everything on the menu. I recommend the Avocado Ball to start. If I could improve one thing it'd be to have them expand the menu to make it more "Asian Fusion" so you could try different types of dishes, like Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, etc.. Also, add a Happy Hour small bites ( dim sum?)menu at a good price. Then it would be perfect. We seem to keep encountering good restaurants while shopping. This time we were at the Publix shopping center in Spanish Springs and came across the Sakura restaurant. The restaurant had a fair number of customers, but not crowded, quiet and comfortable. On entry, we were asked if we wanted to be seated at the Habachi side or the table service side; we chose table service. We were looking for a light lunch so we each ordered a bento box; I chose the chicken katsu, my wife chose the shrimp tempura. The server quickly brought our drinks, miso soup, and small salad with carrot ginger dressing. Only a few minutes later, our bento boxes arrived. Each was large in size, we joked that we probably could have split a single box and had enough for lunch. The miso soup was good, the salad refreshing with plenty of dressing. I thought the chicken, though nicely coated and fried, seemed a little dry; next time I shall try the pork, seems more likely to retain its moisture. The California roll was tasty but a little squished into its corner of the box. The fried rice was warm and good. The gyoza dumplings were sort of unremarkable, little textural difference between the fried side and the other sides. My wife's shrimp tempura was excellent, but the broccoli tempura was cooked as a single cluster, making it difficult to eat. All in all, it was a pleasant lunch, the portions were huge, and at thirteen dollars for a bento box, soup and salad it seemed a bargain in today's market. read more

Last night, I was in the mood for sushi and sashimi, so I found this fantastic restaurant on Yelp and decided to try it for dinner. When I arrived, the place was bustling, and everybody seemed to be having a good time, laughing and enjoying their night out. I was promptly seated, and while I was sitting, I watched the servers walking by with the delicious meals they were delivering. The atmosphere was pretty authentic for a sushi restaurant. My server was knowledgeable, kept my drinks filled, and gave me an excellent recommendation. I had the sushi sashimi platter, which came with a side of soup and a ginger salad, and I must say the meal was delicious, and I can't wait to return. We've eaten here several times and the food is consistently quite good. The show is good as well but the tone of it is a bit sardonic. Most other teppanyaki houses I've been to the show is light, and I prefer that. But it's entertaining. The only complaint I have is my steak was tough, if you want steak upgrade to the fillet for a couple more bucks. Also, ask about exchanges, they are very easy going and will do double rice, or double noodles, or veggies, or hold the mushrooms. Good experiences and we'll be back. Good prices, portions, and ambiance. Although it's fun to watch the chefs on the hibachi side, you can get seated more quickly on the dining room side & you can still order off of the hibachi menu. Staff was nice and our waitress was friendly and efficient. We ordered the filet with shrimp and steak with shrimp. The filet was excellent!! Actually, all of it was. We're not a fan of the ginger dressing on the salad...it is quite thick & the flavor was "ok". The yum-yum sauce was good of course. We were able to sit in the bar area while waiting for a table. It's nice, but I felt bad for the bartender because she had to wait on all of us sitting there, as well as the incoming orders from the restaurant. As a bartender myself, I understand how busy that can get. But even with all the orders, the girl was very nice. We will visit again sometime! read more

I ordered the soft shell crab appetizer, nice tempura, nice flavor, but hard to go wrong with these! Next had the yellow tail (hamachi) sushi style, my favorite sushi, fabulous! Last had the Chilean sea bass cooked perfectly with a ginger sauce with asparagus pieces, whole (mostly raw mushrooms) and white rice! Yeah, we had a nice meal here. The interior is very stylish, which one wouldn't expect as its located in the middle of a strip mall. Their other location is lighter and brighter from the outside. There's a nice bar area where you can grab happy hour drinks and food or have a comfortable solo dining experience. It's all your typical Japanese food and the soups are especially great as is the sushi and really anything you order. Last visit I tried the tempura tofu with a side of broccoli, which threw them for a loop, but the service was truly top notch over all. You can't go wrong at either location. read more
