    We paid $42 for this

We ordered take out 2 veggie entrees and $7 dumpling appetiser. Bill was over $37. We tipped $5. One the way home we checked bag and there WAS NO RICE. We immediately called Bamboo Bistro because we assumed they forgot to add the rice to the bag. We were told that NO RICE IS INCLUDED with eggplant and bok choy veggie entrees. We paid over $42 for 2 veggie entrees and one appetizer.

Overall, yummy food and decent service. Pictured is half of a Tsunami Roll, which comes with 12 large pieces. Crab rangoons and miso soup were good. Portions are larger compared to other sushi restaurants in the area.

This was the worst food I have ever ordered at a restaurant. Zero flavor. It tasted like boiled chicken and vegetables. The service was eh. The waitress seemed so over whelmed and flustered. The dipping sauce for the fried gyoza tasted watered down?

This shows the $12 price versus the regular menu that shows $14. Confusing!

If I could, I would give them 2.5 stars. My dish was, Tofu and Vegetables ok, heavy sauce, not much flavor and it came with rice. My wife liked her chicken wraps and she had a huge bowl of soup. The soup was without much flavor to me, but my wife really liked it. Our friends loved their dishes, another tofu and vegetables and also an eggplant dish. The service was great though and that made up for a lot. If I come back, I would try the Thai dishes, the curry or Pad Thai and see if those have the flavor that I like. The owner was very nice and gave us each some home made sangria to try. That was very nice. Overall, it is a great menu for both me and vegetarian and my wife Gluten Free. So well done there. See what you think!

    Enough for TWO!

Food and appetizers are Fresh and delicious. Not busy on a Sunday evening. We sat outside this evening because Fall is so nice.

Tasteless panang curry shrimp. Curry was watery. Even the rice tasted old and dry. Won't go back.

Service was very good and all of our dishes ( including sushi rolls and lo mein) were excellent. We loved the atmosphere too.

Food was OK, fair price, service was OK. Not gonna complain, not sure if wait/staff person was angry or just didn't want to be there.

Horrible sushi. Used a lot of rice as a filler and raw sushi was so small it was laughable. The search continues...

REVIEW SAKURA JAPANESE RESTAURANT Today, 31 December 2025,…read moremy wife and I decided to have lunch at the Sakura Japanese restaurant in Colony Plaza, The Villages, Florida. We arrived at 1400 and there was a large number of people eating lunch, but seating remained available and our waiter soon appeared. We ordered a CocaCola and Green Tea while we perused the menu. My wife decided on the Tempura Bento box with pork katsu, while I chose the lunch combination of sushi and sashimi with salad and soup. We were both delighted! I found the sushi/sashimi combination to be delicious; more than I could comfortably eat after the salad with carrot-ginger dressing and clear soup. I took a taste of her pork katsu and found it surprisingly moist (much more moist and appealing than other Sakura restaurants here in The Villages). I was pleased that my tea was refilled on request. (One interesting aside: My sashimi plate was decorated by a variety of fresh spice leaves and a mysterious nest of what appeared to be shredded daikon radish with a green glow emanating from within. The green glow turned out to be a small battery powered green LED for ambiance!) All in all, an appealing performance by this Sakura at Colony Plaza; we shall return.

The chicken was dry and overcooked The soup and salad were ok Our server was good and it's clean inside. A bit disappointed because we've always enjoyed it here.

A Somber Sushi Soirée with Room for Improvement (2 out of…read more5) My father and I decided to explore the All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) sushi experience at this local restaurant, arriving promptly at 5:07 PM--a time I noted for reasons that would later become relevant. At first glance, the restaurant had a quiet charm, though it leaned more toward somber than serene. Aside from us and one other couple, the dining room was notably empty, which set the tone for the evening. We were seated quickly and placed an order that included a variety of sushi rolls, appetizers, and fried rice. Unfortunately, the service was sluggish noticeably so. Given the strict 90-minute dining limit, the extended wait times for food (and even for something as simple as extra napkins) felt more strategic than situational. To the food: The appetizers were a mixed bag. The shrimp tempura had an odd aftertaste, and it was clear the shrimp hadn't been properly cleaned always a disappointing oversight. The grilled beef skewers bore little resemblance to the menu description and were drenched in an overly sweet sauce that overwhelmed the meat. On a more positive note, the gyoza were pleasantly crispy and flavorful, and the spring rolls, while unremarkable, were decent. As for the sushi, it was serviceable but underwhelming. The rice-to-fish ratio leaned heavily in favor of rice, and the overall freshness left something to be desired. The teriyaki beef was actually quite tasty but again, it arrived swimming in sauce next time (if there were to be one), I'd recommend ordering it on the side to truly enjoy the meat. The service, regrettably, remained cold throughout the meal. At exactly 6:12 PM, our server informed us that our 90-minute window had expired despite the math suggesting otherwise. Perhaps she was simply having a rough day, so I'll leave it at that. In the end, while taste is indeed subjective, especially when it comes to sushi, I've had far more memorable and satisfying experiences elsewhere. For us, this visit fell flat, both in flavor and hospitality. Sadly, it's not a place I see myself returning to anytime soon. NOTE: Tips are included so be careful as you may end up tipping twice.
