I was looking for a Rollator to purchase, the sales lady asked if I knew anything about that type of walker, I replied yes, I've looked at them on the internet, she then said in a rude tone.. Oh ours are more expensive than those on the internet!!! then she began to show me the cheapest and smallest one they had, I am 5"7 and over 200lbs!!! Why did she replied like that!? I dislike leaving bad reviews, but I cannot recommend Tristate Compounding Pharmacy/Kunkel Medical in Cincinnati. They took six days to fill an antibiotic prescription allowing my infection to flare. Communication was almost non-existent. The scrip was sent Friday, no call to confirm. Monday I called, they couldn't find it. (They later did.) Tuesday I called and was told they didn't have the drug to fill it. I was also told to call the Doc because instructions were missing. I did. Wednesday I called, it was promised that evening or the next day by 3:00 PM, IF I confirmed in writing that I wanted it. I did. Thursday my husband called at 3, it wasn't ready. He drove there anyway and the Pharmacist claimed "computer problems." Too many days, too many excuses, compromising the health of customers. read more

Do not buy any type of mobility device for anyone you care about here. We got my mother a Nova Rollator walker for close to $300. While fitting her my mother told the store that the brake felt too tight and didn't work properly while in the store. They assured her it would break in and be fine. It didn't. The brake was stuck on the tire and kept shredding black off the tire all over her carpets on day 1 of use. Took it back to Kunkel who said they dont take Rollators back. Kunkel says it was defective and is a warranty issue even though Nova says Kunkel assembled it improperly. Now my mother was "loaned" a used dirty walker while the new one she bought sits at Kunkel and they cant/won't fix it. This place should be ashamed they sold a disabled individual faulty equipment and have both her many and the equipment in their possession. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

Call to sit on hold for better than 15 min. Called back twice. Same thing. Why don't they hire some emplotees to take care of customers?

They will not take any returns! Even if you bring an unopened package with receipt back the next day! How can they even do business like that?? read more

I had shoulder surgery recently and needed a recliner to sleep. Called various medical stores and most could not handle and a few who could transferred my call but no one ever picked up. Called Kunkel's and they were extremely helpful on the phone and when I came in. They remembered my call and made special arrangements to accommodate a recliner with a left hand left remote device. Asked what 2 hour window they could deliver and they did. Good people throughout the organization and excellent follow-up. Super people to work with. read more

The pharmacy is cutting corners and patient safety is at risk. They don't give you what you need for doing injections. If you need 8 needles they only give you 5 so you have to risk sticking yourself with a needle because of their cheapness when you go change the needles on the syringes. You have to get a magnifying glass to read the prescription label. The only thing you can read without that is your name, the directions, refills, their phone number etc. you must get a magnifying glass and I have near perfect vision. They have gone down hill. You cannot get a hold of the pharmacist to ask a question often times they put a pharmacy technician on and make you feel pushy or angry to even get to speak to the pharmacist. This used to be a good pharmacy, but no longer recommend them. read more

We love Kunkel Pharmacy! We have a dog with Addison's and they are the only ones who are willing to go the extra mile to mix the meds AND put flavoring in it so it's not a fight every night to get him to take it. Staff is always so friendly and helpful and return messages promptly. read more

I would definitely recommend Kunkel Medical & Pharmacy/Tri-State Compounding Pharmacy on Beechmont Ave. I have called there in the past and received excellent customer service from their employees. Last week, we rented a hospital grade breast pump from them and were satisfied with the experience. They have the most affordable pricing on renting these breast pumps. My husband and I have a premature baby we needed to have this pump ready for and the Kunkel staff made it go so smoothly! They accommodated us and with their help I was able to have the pump ready so my husband could get it set up for when I arrived home. The pump is brand new as well and has worked flawlessly! Definitely recommend going here! read more

The pros: This is a local compounding pharmacy that is reasonably priced people - The mobile vet in KY was about to order to an out of town compounding pharmacy that my cat's meds would have cost more, and had to get them mailed here on top of it, when I told them about Kunkels. The male pharmacist was very friendly and accommodating when there was an air pocket in the syringe of the ointment we got our cat. (Ointment rubbed on ears - so air pocket did not affect in any way other than missing some medication paid for). Compounding pharmacies are few and far between so I feel grateful that we have one here in our area! They are always friendly and you can tell try to work hard on the "customer service" experience and show you other items they have in stock that you might want/need to buy in future for reference. On top of it, they take "Fund Money" from the Buy it in Anderson Coupon Book for Pets meds (not people meds). I find it really endearing that they put the prescription under your pet's name in their system, just like vets do at their office. A few years back, I even explored getting a compounded med for my illness there, but I would have had to pay out of pocket as it was not covered by insurance. The cons: I realize they are a small "local" pharmacy that is not a huge franchise chain like Walgreens or CVS. That being said, the incessant phone calls are a little overkill. I have an illness that produces extreme fatigue, and they always seem to call when I am sleeping. I'm sure if I requested them to please not call me, they would do so. (But it would probably take several times of reminding them to please stop because their communication seems to be somewhat lacking). They call to let you know they received an updated script, they call to let you know that it is ready for fill, they call to let you know it is ready for pickup, even though I told them I'd be in to pick it up within a certain time frame of days, again, 2 more phone calls. I went to pick up a different script, instead of being streamlined and asking if I planned on filling the med they had the other script for - they called me 2 days later saying it was getting close to filling that script which I had to explain again that my animal was getting a procedure done where the script was no longer necessary. (Which upon a previous phone call I had to make sure I told the gentleman not to fill it because I more than likely would be doing this procedure). I don't mean to sound ungrateful, because my illness makes my memory very poor too, but there would never be a way I would ever forget my pets meds. Please, maybe the phone call a day or two after forgetting to pick up, or forgetting to order a refill, no need for multiple calls in advance with the assumption that most people aren't going to remember. Kind of makes one sense a desperation to fill meds, and that they are just barely keeping their head afloat to stay open. I just think/hope they update their method of prescription filling, and communication in system and among the employees. Or please take notes, or update the technology of your pharmacy. I'd hate to see this pharmacy go, because it has been such a long time staple of Anderson (regular pharmacy - different location years ago). Last time i dealt on the phone with a pharmacist there, it was a woman, that left a little wanting in the "friendly" area, as opposed to the male pharmacist I had dealt with previously a few weeks prior. Didn't seem to quite fit in as well with the whole "customer service" philosophy of the other employees there when I made a request. It seemed like she thought i was trying to be difficult, then I had to explain why I made that request, and I didn't think I was being unreasonable at all. I don't know if she was a new employee, or it just so happened I had to deal with her on the male pharmacist day off. If I could give 3.5 stars I would, based upon my most recent experience. When I first started there 8 weeks ago, I would have given 4.5 - 5 stars. As you can tell, kind of mixed feelings and experiences. Bottom line though, again, very thankful option for meds for a cat that you don't want to pill (or can't/won't), and can do a liquid form in a syringe (for oral) or for ointment form. read more

Thoroughly disgusted. My husband had a laser vein procedure for vericose veins that required a pair of compression stockings. We got the prescription and went to Kunkels to purchase the stockings. The day of the procedure when the nurse proceeded to put the stockings on my husband and low and behold one of the stockings tore. She couldn't believe it. So she advised we call Kunkels because they should not have torn. She went on and put the second stocking on his other leg and dang if it didn't tear too! We called Kunkels and they were gonna look into it but we had them order him a new pair as re has to wear them for 30 +days while his legs heal. Well we got the new ones and they are much better. We just got a call from Kunkels and they told us they were not gonna refund him on that pair that tore. Supposedly it's not their policy! Really ??? Those things are $60 a pair and they tore the first day. At which point we had no choice but for him to wear them for the first 3 days. After 3 days he could remove them. I am so disappointed that they don't stand behind a product with their name on it! We will find a different medical supply to purchase from in the futures I will not give my business to someone who doesn't stand behind their products! read more
