I came to Dr Kuo because of lower back pain. After some examination, Dr Kuo suggested me to take an X-ray. The X-ray showed that due to bad sitting, walking and standing postures, my vertebral is in a very bad shape. My situation was pretty bad, so Dr Kuo suggested me to take a treatment for about 6 months, including rehabilitative exercises and chiropractic treatment. I started my treatment in December. In the beginning I went to his office 3 times a week. Later due to COVID the schedule changed to twice a week. He did treatment, and taught me how to exercise, how to sit, walk and stand. He could tell small differences between my postures. After few months treatments, now I feel much better about the postures. And I took another X-ray. I'm so happy about my improvement. Early 2021 I found my right hand feel numb sometimes, and since I had long hour work from home with my laptop, my back and neck felt very uncomfortable. I decided to see Dr. Kuo, he first refer me to take X-ray to see what exactly happened to me. Then the second session he explained my conditions according to the result, what I should aware when I work, and taught me exercise to help me get better. The following sessions Dr. Kuo adjust the treatment and taught me more postures and exercise depend on how my body react to the treatment. Each time could be slightly different and I do feel the progress my body is gradually healing. After two months twice a week treatment, all my issues go away. Dr Kuo is a very professional and patient doctor. I had a very tight IT band which caused my knee pain. My friend referred him to me. He explained to me how muscle works, what is the cause of my problem and how his treatment works. After two times of seeing him, my condition improved. I have been having stiff neck and shoulder for a while, and I never bother to have them check out. One day, I was doing my dancing practice with some shoulder roll, and I injured my neck and shoulder a little bit. The next day, I woke up with extremely tightened neck and shoulder, and they didn't get much better after 1 week, that's when I decided to get a check up with a chiropractor. I had a total of 3 sessions with Dr. Kuo within one month period. The first session was a thorough examination and some treatments to relax my neck and shoulder muscles. I didn't feel a lot better right after the treatment, which is normal because the body needs to adjust, but I felt a lot better the next day with pressure taken off my neck and shoulder. Dr. Kuo also taught me some muscle rolling techniques and advised me to use heat pack on my shoulder daily to relax the muscle. He also advised me to get some massages once a while to relax my tighten muscle. I am impressed of how thorough and detailed and how knowledgeable he is during these 3 sessions. I am a lot better now after the 3rd sessions, and I decided to stop my treatments to see if I can use what he taught me to prevent stiff neck and shoulder again. Dr. Kuo stated that although not recommended, but it was totally okay for me to stop if I wanted to stop. Reason for going: I hurt my back on a ski trip . Experience: I've been going to Dr. Kuo for over 18 months. Dr. Kuo was a very patient and caring doctor. He carefully listened to my story about how I hurt my back and did a quick diagnose to explain how where my pain was coming from and how was he planning to treat it. Luckily, my injury was not too bad. After my session, Dr. Kuo explained I only need 2-3 sessions to fix my back pain but he also noticed I have scoliosis which I knew since I was a kid. He suggested a longer term session and a few exercise to improve my posture. But since my scoliosis was not too serious, there are few exercises I can do at home to improve my scoliosis. He demonstrated the exercises and suggested me to do it everyday. In the end of the session, he said he is confident he can fix my injury within 3 sessions and future sessions are totally optional. Started in September of 2018, I had a unknown sports injury in my right that caused me to be unable to walk. So I was referred by my sister to go see Alex for treatment and see what may be the root cause for injury. The first treatment went well as Alex explained to me what that main causes might have been due to the activities I had described to him. And after that treatment I was able to put pressure on it. In the next few treatments Alex would adjust my foot and also found out my posture and the way I walk was off which my cause future injury and discomfort. He then assigned me "homework" after each session which I have to do exercises to strengthen different parts of my body to help with my posture and such. Dr. Kuo and his staff are amazing. He came highly recommended by my husband, who has been receiving care from Dr. Kuo for years. I've been suffering from tension headaches in my neck and the back of my head to really intense migraines (averaging about a migraine every other week for the past 10 or so years). Previous treatment from other physical therapists or high dose migraine medication from my primary care physician really didn't help at all over the years. During my introductory/evaluation with Dr. Kuo, he could already tell that this wasn't purely a muscular issue -- something was wrong with the alignment of my spine. He was the first medical professional to recommend that I get a full X-ray of my spine and walk me through what everything meant. It turns out that I had lost somewhere around -144° of mobility in my neck! I was referred by two of my friends to Dr. Kuo, they told me that they both have good results after seeing Dr. Kuo. I have had lower back pain and sometimes even feel soreness and numbness from my lower back to legs. During the first treatment, Dr. Kuo had checked my spine and pelvic bone. He also asked me to walk around to have an overall assessment of my case. And then I was sent to do the X-rays. The result shows that my spine is "S" shaped and the pelvic is oblique. Dr. Kuo considers that in my case the "S" shaped spine might be right for me, so he told me that he won't try to fix the "S" shape, but would focus on my neck and lower back area pain. In the following treatments, Dr. Kuo was focus on how to relax my muscles. He gave me some advice on my daily postures and taught me several exercises to do at home to relax tightened muscles.
