You pick how often you want them to come and it's only $40 an hour with a two hour minimum. Very affordable for what we are looking for. I am so happy and a small weight has been lifted off my shoulders. We live so far I worry and dad refuses to move in with us.

St. Francis Hospice was suggested for my mom by the Palliative Care Department at Kaiser. After…read moremeeting with the case worker, we decided on their services for in home hospice care. The case worker, nurses and those who bathed my mom were excellent. They never rushed her, were always so kind and gentle and she enjoyed their visits and chats. Her nurse (Yun Jin) never made our concerns seem unimportant and always made sure checked our concerns on moms health and condition. They really were calming for me as I felt the nurse was just a call away and would be available if my mom suddenly took a turn for the worse. When I needed surgery, we placed my mom in a private care home and the hospice services followed her. She had a different team, because it was in a different area, but the same great level of care was provided. Because my mom was stable she "Graduated" from hospice and was released to her own doctors. Unfortunately, two months later she passed away. Some things that I had to get used to were: 1) The doctor never visited but was kept well informed via the nurse 2) All blood work, doctor's visits, treatments ended. Eye exams, hearing aid adjustments, ear exams were permitted but very little else as this was comfort care. Any problems were addressed by the nurse. My mom's doctor continued to follow my mom's progress via twice monthly calls with us. It was difficult for our minds to go from a mentality of healing my mom to one of offering her comfort but we did eventually get used to it. After my mom "graduated" from Hospice I realized just how much they had helped my mom and I and what peace and calm they brought to our minds. Impending death of a loved one is difficult and dealing with that day to day realization can be frightening. They helped alleviate that making us feel like we weren't alone on this journey with my mom but we had a great support team standing behind us. Thank you St. Francis Hospice for being such a great team with our family to care for my mom. I would recommend them to anyone needing this kind of care. They are excellent!

I had no idea how these companies worked and was somewhat uncomfortable at the thought of strangers coming into my house at the worst time of my life. They changed my life. They supported me 100% throughout the end of his life. I don't know how I would've managed without them now. This weekend part of the goodness of their hearts they put on a memorial at Calvary by the sea Lutheran Church. I cannot say enough about this company. Having to place your loved one in an assisted living facility is one of the most difficult decision…read morefor a family to make. The process is stressful, emotional & can be overwhelming! There are so many options out there & finding a facility that is the right fit for your loved one is so important. Our family had to make that heart wrenching decision to place my dad in an assisted living facility & after looking at many options & visiting many facilities we first placed him in a large facility that was very nice, staff was nice & looked like it had all the bells & whistles...after about 4 weeks & many reasons later we knew that it was not a good fit for him & we needed to move him...he needed a smaller more home like atmosphere with more individual attention. A friend suggested Kina'Ole in Kaneohe & we arranged for a tour with the owner Beth. From the very moment we entered the beautiful gated property we knew this was the place for dad...it was exactly what we were looking for! The grounds are so beautiful & well taken care of...3 separate homes on the property with beautiful trees & flowers everywhere...nice paved walkways & even a few chickens running around with their baby chicks...my dad loved it!! We decided to place him there & it is the best decision ever!!! Dad's house has 8 rooms...each resident has their own large bedroom & private bathroom which we could decorate however we wanted too...so it could feel like home for him...theres a large living room/common area where the residents have their daily activities & delicious home cooked meals & where they can just relax together on their own recliners & watch a movie together & have a snack. There's lots of staff to help out & to care for dad & all the residents...the entire staff at Kina'Ole are amazing!!! They have made the transition so easy for dad & our family & to watch dad immediately feel welcomed, comfortable & relaxed there has been the best feeling in the world!! Dad loves to be outdoors & take walks & the staff will take him outside twice a day for a nice long walk or whenever he'd like one...they truly care for the residents as though they were their own family members! Dad told me that he "feels spoiled" there cause they all so attentive & take such good care of him! I almost cried hearing him say those words because I knew we had found the perfect place for him!!! He is thriving & happy & so are we!!! We now don't have the constant worry we had before...we know that everyone at Kina'Ole makes it their priority to care for dad's physical & emotional well-being...we finally have peace of mind The icing on the cake was last week I got a text message for Wehilani (head nurse in his house) & she sent me pics of dad out & about with his housemates enjoying the gorgeous grounds & having fun with his new friends. She shared with me how his week went...how well he's adjusting, how his appetite has been, how he's been sleeping (great) & just a report of his week Kina'Ole is a hidden gem & our family feels so blessed to now be part of their ohana!

KinaOle has 24 hr caregivers, monthly outings, music therapy with Maria, movement therapy and art therapy. When going into the homes each room is so spacious and has its own private bathroom. The staff are so welcoming and brings Aloha to the front door. These are not your typical CNA/NA's they're mostly all local young ladies and gentlemen that grew up here on the islands and treat our loved one like family. Home is where you make it, and KinaOle felt like home to me. I would recommend everyone to come down and take a tour at KinaOle Estates.
