I hired Mr Kushner to register a trademark for my small nonprofit. He initially suggested it would take six months. Ten months later, the patent office refused the application he prepared, and they required further action. Mr Kushner immediately responded: "I don't handle appeals... You need another trademark attorney". This initially surprised me, as my very first email to him had requested he handle all followup. I only realized after it became necessary that his subsequent contractual communication excluded appeals from his fee (though I don't see he excluded appeals from his ability or will). Our next attorney advised that Mr Kushner had incorrectly described our corporation's services in the classification on our trademark application. In light of this revelation, I politely asked Mr Kushner for a refund, due to his apparent misfiling. He refused, saying "I input the category consistent with the information you gave me". When asked what exactly that information was, he refused to answer. Communications with Mr Kushner throughout this entire relationship increasingly felt exceedingly unprofessional and unpleasant. I believe I could have saved much time, money, and stress hiring someone else. I would not recommend doing business with him at all. UPDATE: The day I posted a negative review, Mr Kushner emailed: "You have 24 hours to remove this review or I will seek remedy in court for damages caused by your defamatory and libelous comments." Similar messages followed, including two weeks later: "Your lies are and continue to hurt my business. You will be paying for the damages you are causing to my business." He claimed I "did not follow [his] instructions" without giving any example. He described my refund request as an "extortionary threat". He declared "5 of my colleagues...have projected a $500K+ judgment against you as a consequence of the LIES you have posted". I believe my review is accurate to my best ability. I believe I communicated openly, accurately, and promptly with him and followed all instructions during our business relationship. I don't see anything in our contract to forbid negative reviews. It's my understanding I have a legal right to post reviews of services, and I would think suggesting a lawsuit as he has would be unethical or illegal. I see at minimum one other reviewer received a similar message from him; I wonder if more did too but then felt compelled to self-delete. I politely asked him to stop emailing me words that describe my actions as "defamatory, lies, or anything similar", and within minutes he did so again. I find myself having to block his communications, as they now feel like an attempt at psychological warfare, which I don't need on top of a loss of $1,650 and a loss of countless hours while working as a volunteer. Again, I wish I never met this person. read more

Don't recommend unless you like to be talked over and hung up on! I'd leave more details but the last time I did he sent me endless emails threatening to sue me if I didn't take the review down and then swore he would apologize for his actions if I took the review down only to never apologize once I did. I never refused to pay. He insisted I needed him to negotiate my contracts when all I needed was a single sentence changed to something specific, he wanted to charge 2k to retain him for that.
