Overall, the food is good. I especially enjoyed their pork BBQ and fresh lumpia. The service is good and the ambiance is cozy. For anyone who is new to Filipino cuisine this is a good start.

On the particular Sunday that I went, they were offering a buffet, so I thought it was a good time to try out this new Filipino restaurant in the West Valley. Being to try several dishes in one sitting enabled me to make a better evaluation of their cuisine as a whole. Everything was excellent - binagoongan, kaldereta, tokwa't baboy, etc. They even had pancit habhab, a noodle dish unique to my Mom's home province, so I presume the restaurateurs are from that region. I am very pleased with the quality of the food as well as the very friendly service. This is quite a drive for me, coming from the north Phoenix area, but I will definitely come back again and again - they are that good.

Incredible actual Filipino food in phoenix area I'm mind blown!! Ordered 3 entrees and the WAIT WAS WORTH IT for food cooked so well!! My server was very sweet & accommodating, only having familiarity with Filipino street food she was helpful in offering a rundown of what's what on the menu. I ordered 3 entrees- Fresh lumpia, bbq liempo & pancit all packed with flavor! - Thank you so much

A new West Valley Filipino restaurant. To order, call for menu item availability. They ran out fast on popular dishes such as diniguan. There are favorite dishes available such as lumpia, pancit and lechon kawali. It's great there is a restaurant that represents Filipino food and culture. Lastly, they accept Zelle and cash only.

Hands down the best Halo-Halo in Arizona! Perfect for the hot weather.

Ask the Community - Kusina Filipino Cusine

Do they use tree nuts/peanuts or oils with them? It all sounds amazing and I'd love to try it but unfortunately, I'm violently allergic and even cross contamination is a no go for me😞

To be honest I never ask any establishment whether or not they use any form of cooking with peanuts because I have no allergies. But you should always ask them when you look through their menu. Never order Kare-kare because that has peanut sauce.…

A good friend of mine was craving Filipino food so we chose Nanay's to scratch the itch. "Nanay" is the Tagalog word for mother. Let me tell you, this place is LEGIT!!! The restaurant has a pretty good size dining area. You can also order ahead for pick up. Employees are very friendly here and I appreciated the fact that the older gentleman was nice enough to give me a sample size of the Langka. It was right on the money! All of the food we got was definitely made with love. You can see it and you most certainly can taste it. I'm a big fan of Sisig, so it was only right to order it. They offer steamed white rice, garlic fried rice and pancit for your base. You get to choose your entrées (choose 1, 2 or 3). I opted for the sisig and their pork adobo which I have been told is a best seller here. No lies were told, as the adobo was on point! I also wanted to sample their "bilo bilo" and it was just like my mom's. I can never get enough!! Prices here won't swallow your wallet, and the parking lot outside is huge! The place was poppin' when we stepped inside and the line only got longer. That's how you know it's DAMN DELICIOUS! I suggest you try out Nanay's because you are missing out if you don't. Should you find yourself searching for some authentic Filipino food, bring yourself!! You'll be sure to leave feeling like you just ate at mom's house! enJOY!! =)

We were the only people in line, and it seemed like he just wanted us out of the store. When he was scooping the kare kare, he also kept scooping past the meat (beef items are an extra +$1 btw) and would dump out each scoop if he thought he was giving us "too much". I had family visiting and they were craving halo halo on their last night here, so I found Backstreet Asia and drove them out here. We ordered the calamari first while waiting for dessert, but it was too salty. I had also ordered myself an ube ice cream while the other 3 got one halo halo for themselves -- all of which took a long time to come out, and we had to remind the servers twice about my ice cream. There weren't many other customers when we were there either. The ube ice cream ended up being 1 very small, stingy scoop, and my family was super disappointed when the halo halo arrived. It wasn't sweet at all and lacked many typical halo halo ingredients (the menu hadn't listed the ingredients so we assumed it would be there). When we asked for something to sweeten it like condensed milk, they said they didn't have it and only had syrup, which I found strange. We also had an uncomfortable interaction with the server too. In the end we brought the halo halo back home and added some of our own leche flan, buko pandan, and evaporated milk. It was disappointing we had to pay what we did for the taste we got. Maybe their other dishes are good, and I do think it's neat that they have a little setup for their occasional karaoke nights, but our experience with our orders and service were 2 stars

I was so glad they made it out again as I had a great experience the last time. I waited about 30 minutes between standing in line to picking up my order. It was reasonable given the large crowd at this event. Their menu was slightly different than what I remembered on my first visit but nonetheless, I ended up ordering the pork adobe plate and lumpias. Now, they offered 2 versions of the pork adobe this time around - the plate and bowl with the plate being a dollar more. When I ordered the pork adobe plate last time, it came in a standard to-go box with the pork, rice, and 2 or 3 lumpias. What I received this time was their bowl and no additional lumpias beyond what I ordered separately (9 mini lumpias). I was confused when I received my order but I wasn't going to make a big deal over a dollar difference. The staff here was great and helped me pack my lumpia order into a box when I told them that I was going to take everything home to eat instead of at the event. Many of their items were served in small paper trays so this was very much appreciated for them to be able to help me bring everything home easier. The pork adobe was exactly as I remembered last time; absolutely delicious and tender. Sadly, I had a big bay leaf in my order and accidently started to eat it as I didn't see it. That was a not so nice surprise. The lumpias were really miniature but packed a lot of great flavor. If I can buy them on a regular basis, I would happily do so. I hope I can run into them again soon!

I was supposed to get 9 but I really got 8.5 since one of the lumpias was half the size of the others. Overall, I had better value for food at other food trucks.
