We were in the area shopping and were looking for something new and came across this place and saw the good reviews and decided to try it out , and I'm so glad we did. I ended up getting the chicken combo with Katsu Chicken and BBQ Chicken which were both really good it also came with some broccoli 2 scoops of rice and a scoop of Mac Salad. We also got a mini meal which was much bigger than we expected just with one scoop of rice and 1 scoop of Mac salad and plenty of chicken. The service was quick and the food great it is located in a shopping center with plenty of shopping all around.

Interesting place. My hubby and I were looking for Island BBQ. Specifically the plate combo that has an entree, rice, steamed veggies and there's yummy infamous Mac salad. We get there and the decor mostly points to southeast Asian and they also had some pics of some of the Hawaiian islands. Okay then. I ordered the chicken BBQ plate, hubby ordered the beef BbQ plate. We were not disappointed at all. In fact, the island flavors were spot on. Our meals definitely had a more authentic flair. We also ordered spam musubi (yummy) 2 musubi come with the order. Also we ordered Manupua (steam BBQ pork bun). The dough was cooked to a pillow soft perfection. We will be back. Broke da mouth!

I would truly give this a 4.5 some stuff was great and other stuff was good. The stuff that was best was the katsu (truly very good), the BBQ beef (excellent), the rice was perfect and the Manapua was pretty darn authentic. The service was excellent. We called about15 min before hand and they had all of it made and ready to go for us. The restaurant was busy but no wait when we got in there. Any time a Hawaiian place is busy it is a good sign. We are lucky this place is so far from our house because we would go here more often we did. In all we bought a family meal ($46) which was plenty of food, plus a side of rice, and two orders of Monapua and spent $68. Think that's the best price in town for the value of Hawaiian food! So ono!

Easily the best Hawaiian BBQ place in the area with generous portions, consistent quality, and just really yummy food. Our favorite is the chicken katsu. I've had the chicken katsu with curry before as well and it was comforting. We've also had their bbq chicken and beef. Honestly, you can't go wrong with what you choose here. Service is alright, no complaints, ambiance is casual, parking can be a bit hectic on the weekends cause it's located in a busy plaza. I am and always will be a huge fan of Leo's. Even though we don't live close by anymore, we're still willing to make the trip out!

Customer service is always great. You're always greeted when you walk in. Their food is cooked to order and it is delicious. The teriyaki meet was very good meat tender and the marinade was very good. The macaroni and rice remind me of the islands. Stop by say hi and something to eat. There are plenty of options. The seating area is clean along with tables and 1/2 booths. Moco Loco was very good and my friend would have ordered again.

I was craving Hawaiian barbecue and was in the west side so decided to hit up Leo's island bbq because when I lived on this is if town is always hit!! I got the chicken and rib combo plate to share with my gf because the portions are huge!! It comes with bbq chicken, chicken katsu and short ribs. Also come with two scoops of rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. And that's not all ... some steamed veggies as well all of that for 15.49! That's a deal in my opinion. We got that and an extra side of macaroni salad because I remember it was really good. They also have several Hawaiian drinks to choose from in a can, which are all delicious! The macaroni salad was not a sweet as I remember but it was still very good. The bbq and the chicken katsu was our fav. The short ribs were flavorful, but very fatty this time. We also got a mini bowl of the chicken katsu to go for her son and he liked it and was stuffed the mini is also loaded with food!! They have. Katsu sauce and teriyaki sauce for you to take b The teriyaki sauce was delicious the Katsu sauce we did not care for. I have had lots of cutter sauce and this one just had a funny taste to it. Not my favorite. Someone next to us said to order a side of curry next time so I will for sure do That. The service is straight and to the point . Place is small but clean. The food does take some time to get but it's because it's made to order which I love! This place is for sure a must try when in the area even if you're not it's worth the drive!

I had the teriyaki chicken and my sweetheart had the chicken katsu. Both were OFF THE CHART good and there was enough food for both of us for two meals. The staff were very friendly and polite. My only negative is that I do not live in this area. If I did, I would eat here at least once a week.

We got a bunch of items to go. While I don't usually like to rate food to go because things change over time, Hawaiian BBQ is almost always to go. Had the chicken combo - BBQ chicken and chicken katsu. Solid katsu but BBQ chicken was a little dry. Overall, a reasonable option in the area.

No frills Hawaiian BBQ plate lunch place for takeout. Had to call my order in as I didn't find an online ordering site. Good flavors, great mac salad, big portions, and not too salty (unlike the Hawaiian place down the street). Would go back!

Played, won't be back…read more Went through the drive through on Friday around 3pm, was the only one there. When the lady asked what I wanted to order I asked if there was a plate with the katsu and short rib. If it can't be done, just say no. But she said 'yea' and rang me up for a 'custom' plate. I sat in that drive through for about 10 mins after paying and she gives me my plate, I leave. Get all the way home, my plate is wrong - I should have checked this in the drive through but benefit of doubt, ya know. I was so irritated about it though, I called and they knew exactly who I was when I said my food was wrong and said I could come back. I at first agreed, but was working and had already burned through my lunch. So I called back and asked for refund. Again, the girl I was talking to said I needed to come back to the store with my card for it. I said I was not about to be driving back and forth, she offered the store credit, so I took that. Saturday, after running my errands I went back thinking I should go before I or they forget. I go in, the girl that helped me must have been there the day prior because as soon as I mentioned the incorrect plate she remembered my plate and spoke to the man preparing the food. When she brought out my food she repeated my order, I said yes and still checked my food. It was right but there was 1 dry short rib amongst a good amount of chicken- instant annoyance. In the lady's defense, they did both ask about it. But I just waved it off and left. I don't think I should have to tell you, you know what you served- bs. Anywho, Ono won't see another red cent from me. at least not this location.

My food was so-so. The vegetables were delicious, if I come back I might ask for more of those instead of rice. The noodle salad was tasty but the meat was off. I don't know if it was the grisly fat that gave it a cheap flavor but it wasn't very good and made my stomach feel a little wonky. I won't order that meat again if I come back.

Portions were lunch sized, kinda middle of the pack as far as generous. Let's say, not enough to make it worth saving (a partial scoop of rice & a couple end pieces of katsu). The BBQ chicken thighs were cooked through & had some flavor even before I added terriyaki sauce. The katsu was kind of a disappointment as far as size and was on the bland side. Dipping it in the sweetish katsu sauce helped some. The best part was the mac salad which did taste nice & pasta was properly cooked. Price: $13.99 pre-tax as of January 2026. Service? No rating as it was me ordering on a touch screen, so zero interaction beyond being handed my to go bag. I love Hawaiian food, including Katsu but it was a miss for me. If I go back, I'd try a Loco moco plate (if they have one) or the guava dessert that kinda looked like a chubby pop tart. Overall, it felt like many fast food chains - it was fast & it was food. For that, 3 stars.

The chicken was really good and cooked pretty much perfectly. It doesn't have that "char" to it that Hawaiian's cook it like (if you know, you know), but it was cooked almost perfectly imo. The teriyaki sauce was pretty tasty. It wasn't the best teriyaki sauce I've ever had, but it's a lot better than Ono's Hawaiian BBQ (their chicken teriyaki is trash!). The service was good and fast!
