On 5/11, during a late-night visit to grab drinks and candy after celebrating my birthday and Mother's Day, I had an unpleasant interaction with a cashier named Laci. While ringing up my items, one didn't scan, and I made a lighthearted joke: "Is it free 99?" I immediately added, "Just kidding." Laci responded, not playfully but rudely, with "Now it's going to be $5 for asking," in a tone that felt unnecessarily sharp and disrespectful. This interaction took place at Register 2, Transaction #7206. I'm not overly sensitive, but the dismissive attitude really caught me off guard--especially when I was just trying to enjoy a simple moment at the end of a special day. This isn't the first frustration I've had here. The card readers at the pumps didn't work properly for months--I had to walk inside multiple times because my card kept getting stuck. Thankfully, they've recently been fixed. To be fair, the gas prices here are great--some of the cheapest in town--which is why I've kept coming back. One scratcher was a $20 value and the other was a $40 value, for a total of $60.00. The gas clerk gave me the $40.00 ticket value and kept the $20.00 ticket. I was really tired so I asked him if it was only $40 and he said yes. I didn't argue, I just left. This isn't the first time a clerk has cheated me out of scratcher value so just pay attention and be prepared to double check the amount.

Recently stranded in late afternoon at the Yosemite Tunnel View parking lot. Car had died & would…read morenot start. Called AAA, but they couldn't figure out how to help. After other phone calls to people at various Yosemite Village locations, I got an offer to come out & jump the car. Car would not start due to bad alternator. Was put in contact with James at MMA Towing. Arrangements were made to buy a new alternator from O'Rielly's. James offered to pick up alternator & drive over an hour to my location & install new alternator. James & his assistant arrived in the dark at 9:00 PM. Took an hour to remove & install alternator. Car started & ran. I cannot describe my appreciation for what James & his buddy did for us. Without a doubt, it was above & beyond the call of duty. Wish I could give him more than 5 stars!
