First thing to know, Downtown Omaha is kind of a grocery store desert - or at least that was the impression I got from my visit. We were travelling with our toddler and while I KNOW she should be 100% off bottles, we are picking our fights and she still enjoys one with her milk in the morning and in the evening. That being said, we only brought two bottles and planned on cleaning them as we went. Our only problem was we forgot dish soap. After asking the front desk where would be the easiest place to find some they recommended Cubby's and they were right! While you pay convenience store prices, it was easy to pick up what we needed and they had a few options which was nice. The store itself has a good variety of food, snacks, odds and ends, and likely serves as a little grocer for anyone who lives nearby. I wouldn't say I loved this place so much I would definitely return, but I will say it was clean, had what we needed, and was conveneint, which really was about all I could ask for in a nearby convenience store.

I've witnessed employees assaulted by coworkers who remained employed afterward. I've witnessed stores left with a single employee to run the floor, even though robberies and emergencies happen. You claim theft is hurting your business, yet I've watched used makeup accepted for return. I've watched open food refunded. I've watched broken jewelry refunded after a customer admitted she wore it until it broke. At the same time, food that is still safe to eat is pulled from shelves and thrown into the dumpster instead of being donated to people who need it. Then there are the hours. Hiring someone as "full-time" means nothing if they're scheduled 12 hours a week. People can't pay rent, buy groceries, afford medications, or support their families on promises. Many Walgreens employees work two or three jobs just to survive. Your employees deserve safe workplaces. They deserve adequate staffing. They deserve consistent hours. The bathroom is the cleanest I've been too and wont go to any other. They have a fresh made snack bar with burritos, pizza, chicken fingers and made to order burgers. The food is not bad at all! They also have a nice little area with tables and condiments to relax a bit. If you go there at noon, you will see workers of all shapes and sizes and a parking lot full of trucks and believe it or not most likely you will see a locomotive or two stopped right there on the tracks and the engineers are sitting inside taking a break munching on food. Now that says a lot right there....
