After KWIK START, I woke up to all of the oil in my crankshaft on my garage floor. May quarts in that puddle.
    P. M.

My view is that the Kwik Start in Amarillo TX on Bell St., is a dangerous place, based on my experience. *THIS PLACE IS NOT ACCREDITED BY THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.* Visited twice in early August 2023. New in town. Have a smooth-running older sports car. I have always taken very good care of it. Runs like a dream. Stored indoors, etc. Went in for a spark plug change first. As I was leaving, Eddie, the owner, said I needed a "valve cover gasket replacement." The valve cover gasket replacement was a true NIGHTMARE. Immediately after leaving their shop, my car needed a WRECKER. Extreme exhaust fumes began leaking into cabin. Choking me. Carbon monoxide. Quickly covered my nose and mouth with a spare mask. Got sick. Somehow, I made it home. Vomited from the fumes exposure. Called Kwik Start to report situation. Spoke to Eddie the owner. Shockingly, I got the run around. He said "bring it back." But I lost my trust. Just couldn't. Posted a review on Yelp before going to bed. Would call tow truck in morning. Woke up to all oil drained onto my garage floor. (see pics). *UPDATE: WRECKER DISPATCHED IN THE MORNING. Towed to dealership. FINDINGS DEALERSHIP DOCUMENTED: The valve cover gasket that kwik start so-called "installed" was grossly and inaccurately put in. Also documented was the possibility of malicious intent in the area of the valve cover gasket by kwik start employee that worked on the gasket. Later, before dealership findings report, I went to Kwik Start to speak to both manager and the employee. I attempted to negotiate a refund for their bad repair, wrecker costs, taxis, and repair costs. Showed photos of oil drained out onto my garage floor. Told employee and manager - that my car was brought in in perfect condition. That this damage looks intentional. Simple valve cover gasket replacement? The employee instantly swore at me ("F bomb"). He then flipped me off with both of his hands, (in front of the manager) and stalked off. Manager Eddie did absolutely nothing. Manager then lectured me on how I shouldn't have "upset the employee" like that by saying the damage looked intentional. Zero remorse for what they did to my sports car. Manager then said he "didn't appreciate" my bad Yelp review. Again, zero respect for what they did to cause the bad review. Basically, I had gone there to give them a chance to do right. But the owner did not want to hear anything about it. I was fully aware that they would likely need a copy of the dealership report before giving any refunds. However, treating me like that was zero excuse. And the scary abusive one that flipped me off and swore at me AND the "owner" who allowed him to do so, ya'll can be very, VERY grateful that any of my three sons were not present to see you abuse their elderly Mom that way. Lord. Have. Mercy. Oh, my. You see, one son is a decorated Veteran of the U.S. Army & fought in the Iraq war. Family is close to his heart since he almost did not make it back from the war. He will review the video tho, and also my sons will read this review. Yes, I feel that ya'll will want to thank your lucky stars tonight when you crawl in for nighty night, that the war veteran son did not see you abuse his elderly Mother .... Mom of four, grandmother of nine, great grandmother of one. AND ruin her car. I am grateful to God that my little grandkids or my dog, were not in my car when the fumes flooded the cabin. They could have been easily overcome with illness or carbon monoxide poisoning. Grateful for the fantastic dealership that put my car back together after this horror show. Obviously, I definitely do not recommend Kwik Start. *NOTE This place needs to be investigated by Police, the FBI, the dept. of Labor and Industries, Chamber of Commerce, and the Attorney General's office. The reviews are poor, and some are similar to mine, dangerous. The Better Business Bureau has a similar complaint registered.

They fixed my car and even picked me up when it was ready. Gave me a good price compared with other places that quoted me.

He was friendly and professional. Our replacement part didn't exactly match the original, so he tried to mix some colors that would match the original, but he was unsuccessful. After getting her car towed to Amarillo and attempting to get it repaired on Sunday to no avail, I turned to Yelp for help. I found a shop with great reviews for helping stranded travelers, especially on weekends. I fired off a message and accidentally turned it into a project which added Bryan's Auto and Body to my message. And it's a good thing because Bryan was the only response I ever got. He said they could definitely get it looked at, but it would be Monday. It didn't take long to see this was as good as it was gonna get. But it got better when, not only were they able to get it looked at on Monday, but were able to get the alternator and flywheel replaced on Monday. Melissa and Bryan were tremendously helpful. I drove up to Amarillo to get my daughter back to Albuquerque and was working with them through Yelp messages, emails and phone calls. I have a great mechanic in DFW that took me years to luck into, but managed to find the same level of service through Yelp in a faraway city through apps and phone calls when I didn't have a clue where to go. Thanks Bryan! Thanks Melissa! Thanks to the whole team at Bryan's Auto and Body for coming through with minor miracles in the midst of our little crisis far from home. You are greatly appreciated!

After we hopped back in our car, the check engine light came on, and my Ford Focus (2004 SE, 2.3L) was shuddering/jerking very strongly in idle and in drive. Fortunately, I've had this problem already occur in the past year -- so I knew that a different one of my cylinders was misfiring, and that I specifically needed another new ignition coil (I had paid $600 for parts+labor in West Los Angeles). I called a few auto shops within a mile radius. One said they were heavily backed up with other customers. One said they were booked for the rest of the week. Top Gun said they could look at the car immediately, and could definitely replace the ignition coil within an hour and for ~$300 if that was indeed the problem, so I rolled in. They let me sit with my two cats (in carriers) in the waiting room while they ran diagnostics. Came back maybe 15 minutes later, and told me I was right about the ignition coil. 45 minutes later, the job was done for $300, half the price I paid the first time in LA for a different coil, and we were back on the road for our adventure! I'm extremely grateful that we found them. Great service quality, price and speediness, and a very trustworthy, accommodating and friendly staff. I'd recommend any friend to their facility. Thank you again, Top Gun! :)

The Price of doing business with Blaze's!…read more I recently had a highly disappointing experience with Blaze's Automotive, and I feel compelled to share my negative encounter with others. In February, I entrusted them with repairing a problem that had been caused by Take 5 oil change. Unfortunately, my interaction with Blaze's Automotive quickly turned into a frustrating ordeal. Upon inspection of my truck, Blaze's Automotive informed me that additional repairs were needed, including the replacement of both valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, coil packs, and fixing a broken off dip stick. The estimated cost for these repairs amounted to a staggering $2,232.18, as indicated in the attached invoice. It's worth mentioning that Take 5 was also responsible for a portion of the repairs. However, my dissatisfaction truly escalated after I relocated to Colorado Springs, a mere 15 days later. Suddenly, my truck started leaking oil, causing significant concern and inconvenience. Naturally, I contacted Blaze's Automotive to address the issue, hoping for a resolution. I spoke with Caroline, a representative of the company, who instructed me to schedule an appointment and bring the truck back to their facility. However, I explained to Caroline that I had already moved and returning to Amarillo was not feasible for me. Despite my predicament, she callously dismissed my concerns, informing me that there was nothing they could do to assist me. Understandably, I requested to speak directly with Blaze, the owner, as I believed that he would take responsibility for the situation and provide a more satisfactory solution. To my astonishment, Caroline, rather than empathizing with my situation, stubbornly insisted that Blaze would only offer me the same unsatisfactory response. This response demonstrated a complete lack of concern for my predicament and a clear unwillingness to rectify the situation. I thought in the process of repairing the valve cover gasket, the mechanic twisted or somehow pinched the drivers side, this was the side with the leak. However, when a friend and myself pulled the cover off, I was horrified to learn that they had cracked the valve cover and made attempts to repair it unbeknownst to me. They never mentioned this mistake, only attempted to cover it up. The overall experience I had with Blaze's Automotive was highly disappointing and frustrating. Not only did they fail to fix the issue properly the first time, but their subsequent lack of accountability, poor customer service and lack of business ethics left me stranded with a leaking truck, unable to get this corrected until I was able to do it myself. If you're looking for a reputable mechanic shop, I strongly advise potential customers to reconsider entrusting their vehicles to Blaze's Automotive. Their inability to take responsibility for their mistakes and their dismissive attitude towards customer concerns make it clear that they prioritize their own convenience over the well-being and satisfaction of their customers.
